I actually liked the squared off grill - definitely inspired by the 240z. I think a silver bumper line crossing over it like the original would gave been a nice touch for this nismo version though.
Normal front end.
The square grill is distinctive and both sorta retro and kinda futuristic.
My personal design highlight.
That’s a well crafted Nismo.. 🔥
I think the basic Z is a great looking car - though very retro. You can get the basic car with a manual too - much more inline with the whole analogue/retro ethos.
The standard Z has much cleaner lines for me. I think it will age better, it’s more timeless and more Z heritage.
The square grill is definitely polarising, in person it looks good. It’s one of my favourite parts of the Z, it’s so ballsy unique and just pure Japanese mental I love it.
This is so much more than the base Z, but this video helps sell the NISMO version.
Anyone who would change those wheels would have to be crazy! Some of the nicest stock wheels I've seen!
Love this car. I dont care that it’s not the fastest out there because It’s definitely the most timeless. It’s the perfect blend of old school and modern which is so refreshing in this day and age.
I love your analysis of design features. Honestly, no one else comes near your level... Very detailed.
The car is hot BTW. Best Z yet, I would say
I love the car. However, its way too pricey for what you get.
nismo bumper is more traditional, normal z is more characteristic, iconic.
Automatic only? On a driver's car? This is no GTR, it really doesn't matter if it's milliseconds faster to shift. It's slower than a boosted 370
You’re about the range of 16-30?
Wow a stock car is slower than a nodded car
@@tyhyhh how many years between the 370? Ones twin turbo and it's a fair comparison against the older generation VQ from the same family of vehicle. But yeah, if you don't think to much and discount context you almost have a point
@@ZEPRATGERNODT sure am, and I drive a car older than me with a manual transmission. You got me. I'm a car enthusiast 😂
@@ZEPRATGERNODTOK boomer.
Beautiful Nismo Z!!!😍👍
I love this car
Finally NiC3 Looking Grill
AWESOME VIDEO!!!
That grille looks a LOT better, I agree. Not done with the video yet, but still can't get over how the front still looks off. Wouldn't it be more balanced if they had stretched out the head lights all the way to what now is a curvature of the bumper? I think it would look better with bigger head lights. What do you think?
Wonderful car. Classic sportscar coupe, it worth every penny, especially when all modern cars have become pretty expensive With only AT, however. But it is one of the 3 true modern Japanese sportcars: Nissan Z, Subaru BRZ / Toyota GR 86 and Mazda MX-5.
BRZ is such a cliche, like 18 yo first car or something, I don't like it
Unbelievable that this is still slower around a track vs a 3.0 Supra via Car and Driver
The Supra is fast but I think the Z is way more fun to drive. Drive them back to back.
That’s how much of a difference tires make. Michelin pilot sport 4s are by far the best summer tire.
I wish Nissan would have Nismo exhaust as standard item on this Nismo trim level.
Honestly it should have had all the nismo goodies. Nismo suspension, nismo exhuast, and nismo air intake
Maybe the manual proto with nismo set bumper is a good idea 😊..for engine just mod it
You could get a nice low milage used Mercedes-Benz AMG for $65-70K
Perfection
Would you buy this over the most basic cheapest base used Porsche cayman for $75 + ? After markup
There’s no markup on these 😂 dealers are actually discounting them
I like both front ends. The standard front is edgy and defiant. The Nismo is nicely flowing but not as unique.
Personally, I think it would be cool to have sort of a NISMO 'sleeper', where all of the visual cues (red stripes) are deleted. But even then, I would only do it if I could get a manual transmission.
Headlights look like a bug. I hate them. The rear is so dope tho. With that said its super hard to justify this over an m2. Very.
nissan may create a manual option since they gotten so much backlash for it being in one option for being a automatic. they pulled a porsche making the gt3 a automatic with no manual option back in 2018
Agreed new front is WAY better. Always hated the box of the regular Z.
Automatic 😂😂😂😂😂
As a 70 240 owner, 73 510 owner 79 280zx owner this is such a let down.
I don't think much has changed, heck he Miata has more to offer
Hope Nissan has a serious mid cycle refresh in plan for the z since they plan on this car having a long production life. Except that might make it 90k msrp.
As a former 240Z owner I concur…
Yall manual owners are silly things lmao
@@shastamite2 Automatics are for non- heterosexual people who like to play with a non-mechanical stick.🐶
I've said it b4 ..but the base Z needs a horizontal light bar with chrome trim going through the center of that black rectangular void of a grill ending with turn signals at both sides...to pay homage to the original 240 Z front bumper..
Yes the Nismo looks better in front ...but then anything would.
Wrong…
@@kallekas8551Can you be a bit more definite ...😂@ 4:40
@@planestrainsdogsncars4336 Love the standard Zs grille…and that’s from a former 240Z owner.

Agreed
Escalade owners: what you just called me?
love the design of the nismo, it fixes the ugly front end from the normal version and the special blue color is gorgeous. But 3 things that turn me away from considering it: the car is too heavy even for a GT car due to the old chassis; the auto gear box (it should be an improved manual 6-speed over the normal version or it should have been a dual clutch); and lastly the dealership mark up.
I only got one thing to say. Where's the manual?
No manual? That's so lame, such a beautiful car yet you aren't allowed to change the gears manually ...
I literally never understood that. And I’m sure it’s a fast and great transmission, but it’s not even a DCT. Bruh 😭 the fucking Supra, M2, all Porsches in the same category, all come with a DCT (AND AN OPTIONAL MANUAL). I work at a Nissan dealership and we haven’t sold out nearly $70,000 piece of shit Nismo for months 🤣
Yes you can change the gears manually lol there is a paddle shifter. Also this auto has been engineered to have a sport mode, it performs better than a manual. It's meant to be a race car thus the AT is more efficient.
@@Unxpekted nobody buys a sports car to be the fastest. An automatic option is completely fine if you want it or if you really really want the best track times. But as far as fun and drive experience, I’d take a base manual Z over a fully loaded Nismo.
@@CaptainAlex69 that’s cool, a good decision as well imo.
@@Unxpekted not the same thing in the slightest
Are you hiring? For this channel?
It's funny Nissan moves more then 3700 lb in 3.9 seconds.
a light weight version of this car with a manual could actually be faster.
Exactly. The fat ass 9 speed might be good from digs, but bruh.
Good luck finding one?
They’re everywhere lol
Change your channel name to TheReviewMonkey 🙃
Those blanks in the center are so visible and cheap looking. That infotainment lag and camera resolution isn't acceptable in this price segment. Looks great outside.
Original grille will be timeless…
Is San ruined the front in. Looks like many other cars. Should be much better , tougher look.
NiC3
The price on this after stealership markups $135,000 ...
$10,000 for 20 hp
You already know, if he calls it 'Z Nismo', he's watched every other review. This is just going to be a rehash of other reviews.
Nissan should be cancelled for only offering this in automatic. Im good.
I welcome all the hate the Nissan Z is getting. You can already get a barely used Performance trim for just under 50k. Nismos are going for around 60k out the door since no one is buying them. In other words, in just a few years, all Z trims will be a performance bargain. By the time people realize how slept on this car was, it'll cost way more and all the new sports cars will be EVs or hybrids.
Im sorry but i hate the nismo front bumper. I prefer the normal one
I'll pass. The Integra Type S is just better.
The car doesn't even have the basics of the competition. Compared to something like M2 it is missing active suspension, power seats, leather seats, the speed of the M2, leather steering wheel, up to date tech. It is just so far behind.
Bingo 🎯 But Z looks so good
Isn't the m2 much more expensive tho?
I mean… who cares about power seats in a performance car
Modern car with not as much modern tech sounds pretty damn good to me.
@@nikomoin7604I have 18 way power in my Cayman GTS. So do most Porsches. I can’t list all the performance cars with power seats. Just about everyone wants it.
Too slow 👎
