I agree 100% I have her first album and didn't know she did two more. Absolutely love this live version of this song vs the one on the CD. She was also on American Idol too. Didn't see that until after she passed away. So sad. Hopefully she can get some kind of award post humously. . Her dad has. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I didn't know she had a Hollywood star on the walk of fame either. I think she was focused more on raising her kiddos thou. Her youngest twins are 14. Imagine what she may have done had Ben not taken his life and her twins were raised to adult. She didn’t get radio play or anything which fuckin sucked .. you’d only see lights out video on vh1 in the early mornings but her label failed her .. they didn’t try nearly as hard to promote her .. they just wanted her money smh .. she was a good friend & artist .. I miss her everyday

She really did write excellent songs and knew how she wanted them to sound in her head. That deep sultry voice was beautiful and one of a kind. Her daughter sings beautifully and does at times sound similar but she's not got that polished roughness yet. I loved Lisa's music and I love Rileys new series on Amazon. Daisy Jones and the six. Riley does a superb job. If you want to support Lisa, support Riley, and whatever the girls decide to do later... Lisa will be smiling down. 💫😇💫😇

Such a shame that many wrote her off as someone who was just riding on her father's name and didn't bother to listen to her music. She was soo talented at singing AND writing. She released her first album at 35- I was a teenager and got to see her on that tour. All three of her albums are very different, but each amazing. She is missed.

I've been following her career since she first came out on the circuit. I was fortunate to see her in concert 2x. I never could understand why her music wasn't being played on the radio. Her lyrics were raw and true. I hope that those of you who are seeing this fire the first time continue keeping her memory alive by listening and sharing. I really would not compare her to her father! She is her own person with her own feelings and has found that thru music she can relate to other people. She has talent inherited or not she is her own person and makes her own music and life. Appreciated right here my dear girl!

I think this is a silly comment. She had plenty of name recognition, and she didn't cut it. She did the rounds, she was not a great singer, not a very good entertainer, she did have looks and she had an extremely famous father and husband. But singing talent is just above bearable.

However she wasn't that bad of a song writer & there are plenty of much worse singers whom have been quite successful. Ya don't even have to be able to hold a tune these days to get an hit. Lisa's problem, which in part was her own doing, was not only was she born to one of the most successful & culturally significant entertainers of all time, she then goes & marrys one too. So her celebrity status overshadowed her talent, which wasn't anywhere near the strata sphere of either her father or ex husband, pair that with trying to carve a career at quite a late stage of her life, at 35 I believe, even later than Cheryl Crow whom started at 31. It was a recipe for disaster commercially & it didn't help that her character came across as unlikeable & spoilt being raised with a silver spoon so to speak, so unfortunately for Lisa the writing was on the wall 💯%
In Australia she didn't get any air space and look listening to her now that she is gone from this space, she has a tremendous voice, and to me she will always to me never be in his shadow 😪

her voice is great, but what I like is how she sings with it. Her passion that goes into her songs. Thats what makes a great artist in my opinion, she has it, and her father certainly did too.

But the only thing Lisa was good at was using drugs, getting married and divorced, mooching off her Dad's name and money, and squandering MILLIONS of dollars. The acapella was great: great range and modulation which she doesnt often do and you could clearly make out the words. Great band. Lisa Marie was so in the socket and free here. I loved it.

First she was called Memphis b/c that was always her home with happy memories of her Dad and Graceland. Has anyone heard the songs she did with her Dad as his part was blended in. Daddy don't you cry and In the ghetto. Absolutely beautiful. In the ghetto was one of my fav Elvis songs. But them two singing it together is truly amazing. I've been following her career since she first came out on the circuit. I was fortunate to see her in concert 2x. I never could understand why her music wasn't being played on the radio. Her lyrics were raw and true. I hope that those of you who are seeing this fire the first time continue keeping her memory alive by listening and sharing. There's so much here even though she had only 3 CDs. Peace to you Lisa Maria.

I think this is a silly comment. She had plenty of name recognition, and she didn't cut it. She did the rounds, she was not a great singer, not a very good entertainer, she did have looks and she had an extremely famous father and husband. But singing talent is just above bearable.
@@catdooley4616 I digress somewhat, whilst I agree that Lisa wasn't the greatest of singers with not a great deal of charisma either unlike her father. However she wasn't that bad of a song writer & there are plenty of much worse singers whom have been quite successful. Ya don't even have to be able to hold a tune these days to get an hit. Lisa's problem, which in part was her own doing, was not only was she born to one of the most successful & culturally significant entertainers of all time, she then goes & marrys one too. So her celebrity status overshadowed her talent, which wasn't anywhere near the strata sphere of either her father or ex husband, pair that with trying to carve a career at quite a late stage of her life, at 35 I believe, even later than Cheryl Crow whom started at 31. It was a recipe for disaster commercially & it didn't help that her character came across as unlikeable & spoilt being raised with a silver spoon so to speak, so unfortunately for Lisa the writing was on the wall 💯%

Lisa was a moderately good songwriter but she was NOT a talented singer and THAT fact will not change, no matter how much you protest. Her daughter Riley IS a singer, a very good singer. But the only thing Lisa was good at was using drugs, getting married and divorced, mooching off her Dad's name and money, and squandering MILLIONS of dollars. She should have been ashamed of herself for having SO much privilege and SO many opportunities, and ended up doing nothing productive or good with her life.
