    i so prefered Sendle when they use Couriers Please and then they added a fuel surcharge....so now Aus Post all the way
    looking forward to part 2!

    Because we are in a rural area and majority of my sales are large letter thickness,it’s Australia Post for me.

    I use aus post and sendle just depends really but it’s so convenient with sendle coming to pick up the parcels - have only had good experience with sendle even when an item went missing I felt their service was pretty good🤷🏼‍♀️

      I’m glad to hear that :) my experience with interparcel has been great. Sendle very average. Now that my post office lady comes to my house for free, it does negate the courier a lot. Except in big parcel direct route situations :) thanks for commenting on my video 👍

      @@jonchan.meaningful no problem🙂 very nice but how did you manage to get the post office to come to your door for free? I thought aus post charge a ridiculous price of $11 for that🤦🏼‍♀️

      @@Susanna79. not all post offices are corporate owned. I live within 5km of 4 post offices. So it was a case of building relationship with the one that was franchise owned :) my lodgements matter more to them ❤️ and they offered. I didn’t ask. People who do business well recognise how many post offices I could go to instead of them.

    Thanks for your video ,we are thinking of start up ,can you explain how to link aust post with
    shopify and how to go about with shipping boxes and printing labels ,we are just confused

    • @jonchan.meaningful
      @jonchan.meaningful  Před 7 měsíci

      Thank you for watching my video comparing auspost and couriers. In terms of shipping labels, it will depend on your label printer. Some take generic labels some don’t. There’s an ausprint one people are recommending that will take generic labels :) that’s very affordable for starting out.
      Boxes wise, you can get directly from auspost. If you register for a mypost business account, you’ll get increasing discounts as you spend more on stationery (in store) and purchase labels through my post business.
      In terms of linking shopify, I can’t advise as I don’t use shopify, only eBay :)

    Thanks a bunch for the video! Loved all the info and really appreciate it. Ive got a shopify store and am so confused whether to use their inbuilt plug-on or to use a third party app like ship station. Would you know what the difference might be and what might be better. I'm only shipping nationally and based in Melbourne

    Where were you all this time? I am scratching my head on how to find the best solutions for my small cake business. Thank you so much! I was going with sendle and from the get go I stumble in so many hidden info that gave me so much anxiety! What is your experience in shipping perishable items? Any hints? Thanks in advance.

      @jonchan.meaningful  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thanks for finding me ❤️ I sell toys so they aren’t perishable. That being said a friend who sells custom cookies uses Australia post and says they ship fine so long as they are tightly packed. I wouldn’t have a clue how to ship a cake though… the thought gives me anxiety 😜

    Aus post will come for pick up or i should carry all parcels to Aus post???

      @@meysamafg good question. If you have a mypost business account, you can pay for them to collect from you. Otherwise you’ll need to bring the parcels to the post office.
      That being said if your local post office is run as a franchise and not a corporate store, they may agree to collect from you for free as a good will gesture. Not all will. Mine does. Others do. Just ask respectfully :)

    Great video brother. I am also based in Melbourne, Australia and I am planning to start selling Hoodies Internationally UK, US, NZ, Can. Do you recommend going with Auspost for international shipping? Or anyother courier?

    • @jonchan.meaningful
      @jonchan.meaningful  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thanks for watching brother :) so far Australia post is the best value for money for up to 2kg and also customs clearance is fast. I was using couriers for international because they were estimating quicker shipping times but boxes were being inspected and held at customs so the arrival got delayed. With auspost, no such thing (so far anyways).

    Thanks a lot for this video! Will be launching my business soon.. It's an expensive product (swimwear) so would need tracking. Most likely selling very few to begin with.. might take months to be honest.. Go Aus post for domestic and what for international? I was thinking DHL but now I'm not sure ..

    • @jonchan.meaningful
      @jonchan.meaningful  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thanks for watching :) I use auspost for international up to 3kg because I find the customs clearance is faster and I’ve never had a customer complain of a slow delivery because a box was opened and inspected. With DHL and FedEx I’ve had inspections.

      Tracking costs more than no tracking. If you can be profitable with tracking then tracking gives buyers peace of mind. Of course if you cannot make profit with tracking then you need to send without. Many low dollar businesses send untracked with little issues. Comes down to your comfort level :) there is no right or wrong answer.
