@@headphone_zone hello sir I have LG V40 Think Q which have inbuilt quad DAC.
does it work or its just a marketing gimmick of sailing phone
@@ravindraaryas618 lg v40 has a Quad dac which is awesome
Yes please, in fact does anybody know some subreddit for av receivers knowledge? It's so difficult to understand how much power these av receivers actually have, cannot determine a lot from the power ratings that they provide.
Especially they provide for 2 channel driven whereas I want to know for 5 channel
@@ravindraaryas618, it is good if you do not find it better than any other mobile then, try using better IEMs also the quad dac is only functional when connected by a wired earphone.
This man is so passionate about audio, it makes me wish I was in india so I could go to the shop and get his opinions on some headphones to buy. Sadly I'm in Canada. Very few shops here have people who are this passionate, and that makes it difficult to get good advice. I love this channel.
This means a lot to us🫂 And if you ever plan on visiting Mumbai do let us know, we would love to host you at our experience studio!
@@headphone_zone Thank you so much for your kindness I will absolutely let you know. Wishing a fantastic evening to my friends at Headphone Zone.

Don't worry, I'll go on your behalf
Excellent review: comprehensive and detailed. Thank you for sharing.
Every now and then you find a gem on CZcams. Sir, your channel fits that description. Professional, polished, knowledgeable, engaging and informative content and delivery
Thank you so much for your kind words.Keep the music playing! 😄
Probably the most valuable & informative video for all audiophiles out there..
many other roundups available on web, i used to read those back then
Very allobatory and precisely explained the wide verities of Dacs. I always eagerly wait to hear this great guru.😊

I'm eagerly waiting for the headphone Connect event at Mumbai, Puna, or Ahmedabad...!!?
great video, I tried the Mojo2 and the Gryphon last week and I must admit that I love nearly everything about the Mojo, Sound, Design, Form factor
So I decided to buy the Mojo Poly combo, this costs around 350$ more then the Gryphon but I think its worth it
Hey Raghav! Just wanted to tell you that you are doing an amazing job.
What a great video. I have used this to help choose my portable DAC
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the fantastic overview. Most reviews just cover a few models. I love that you cover a very wide range.
Glad it was helpful!
This guy would sell ice cream in Alaska 😅
Id love to sell Icecream, who wouldn't? And if it means moving to Alaska...Even better.
Icecreams with phenomenal flavours with incredible taste ❤
Most needed video since we need good DACs and DAPs for IEMs. Thanks Raghav and HZ team.
Eager to see another relevant video for DAPs also
So glad that you liked it and yes we will definitely make more such videos in future!
true thats the ideal setup for starters, or most
mine isnt practical since the players has been tuned to dap level
although foobar isnt bad either
Thanks for this quick exhaustive video
Amazing suggestions and basically a mini review of each gear! Any thoughts on the thx onyx?
Thanks for the review.
The only regret I have with my THX Onyx is the lack of a 4.4 balanced input. Otherwise, I absolutely love it, I may look into somoe of those you mentioned with the balanced output, Balanced makes a huge difference,

Thanks for this great summary. I need something like BTR7 or UP5, but with a spdif optical output. Any suggestions?
Thanks for clarification !

Great video, thanks for sharing your thoughts! One question on the Mojo, which you praised a lot: the fact that is doesn’t have a balanced output do you think it makes the difference? Some of the cheaper options you have talked about also have a balanced output, so I was wondering how much of a difference it would make. Thank you
Hey there! We are glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Regarding the Mojo's lack of a balanced output, it's important to note that while balanced outputs can offer certain benefits in reducing interference and crosstalk, it doesn't necessarily mean a non-balanced output connection like the Mojo's will produce an inferior sound. The Mojo is known for its outstanding sound quality, and its single-ended output still delivers excellent audio performance. The absence of a balanced output connection doesn't diminish its ability to provide a great listening experience.
Overall, the Mojo remains a top-notch DAC/Amp, with its strengths lying in other areas, and many users have been more than satisfied with its single-ended output. It's all about finding the right fit for your setup and preferences. Happy listening!
@@headphone_zone thanks a lot for the detailed answer 🙏🏻 I am just starting out, and your videos are really helpful
Hello Raghav, thanks for making this awesome video!
I've been missing listening with my HD650 since I lost my LG G6 couple of years ago. Could you please recommend a portable DAC and another desktop DAC that make these sound great with any android phone or PC? I also have a JVC HA-FXZ200 that I use outdoors. Thanks again.
I looked at DAPs and decided if I was gonna buy a dedicated sound device, I would just buy a used LG 50 for a hundred and some bucks. It's worked out well. The DAC in it is more than sufficient.
Actually I listen to Wav files or Flac files mostly ,but yesterday I was comparing same track in it's wav format(2.1 mb/s bitrate) vs in Soundcloud(128kb/s) b2b.But I was not able tell any difference .There is no problem with the track's authenticity though. I am using Sony Mdr-Xb 55 ap wired in-ear phones(16 ohms Impedence) with the help of Samsung dac(24bit/192khz).
Can you pls help me out wat should I do in the first place to get the full potential of the tracks.

Nice Detailed Video. Loved it. I have shortlisted Fiio KA3 and Shanling UA2 plus. Unable to choose which one to go for. I mostly use this with phone, One concern which draws less battery from phone. I do not have any plan to use Over the Ear headphones with it, only decent mid tier IEMs. Can you comment on this
You can go with either of them as they both are amazing, and both of them pull in an equal amount of battery from your smartphone!
KA3 is award winner. Yes specs are similar
I have Sennheiser Momentum 4 bluetooth headphone, which DAC should I use for console and PC gaming as well as connecting to my S22 Ultra using type c?
I have a question, Can I connect my iphione SE, to my Yamaha HTR via an Fio M3K Headphone amp to listen to Hi Res lossless ? Or is it good to use Verilux® 3.3ft RCA Cable for iPhone Light-ning to 2 RCA Cable Aux Audio Cord from my iphone directly to the HTR?
I use jcally jm07 doc with my tangzu waner sg for my one plus 8 pro! Jcally jm07 just make a big difference!
Would these DACs be beneficial for a 32 Ohm headphone (DT 770 Pro) or a bluetooth earphone using SBC codec?
Which DAC would you recommend for JBL Tour One M2. It has Hi-Res Audio option if we use wired connection (headphone should be off to work in Hi-Res)? Please do reply...
Hello,
I have found ifi xdsd Gryphon used for about 400 euros and the Mojo 2 new for about 600 euro.
Can you help me what to choose? Is there really difference in sound between Mojo and Gryphon so as to cover the 200 euro difference?
Thanks you very much
Where can I get a cable for the mojo 2 that: has RCA on one end and the mini digital on the other end ? Or, go to 20:48 of the video. The round port on the farthest left of the unit, below the word "coax". I have never seen that connection before. But I want a cable that will go from it to an RCA connector - a digital cable with those 2 different ends. Any help ?
Great video, but I want to know do we really hear HiRes Audio as an average human who doesn't have trained ears. I have a Sony XM4 headset and a Samsung phone that supports LDAC and Samsung SSC will I really hear a difference using a DAC. Thank u
I am using blon b03 ,which dac i need to purchase to connect and disconnect phonecall with physical button on blon b03
THANKS for the review ... could you tell wich one has more bass tuning I dont like my iem to sound bright
Hey there, you can go for the Shanling UA1S or the UA2 Plus.
Great informative video. ❤ What's your take on iFi GO bar?
Hey there, We're glad you liked the video, as for your query, we haven't had a chance to try it out yet but when we do, we'll make sure to provide an update!
Currently I'm using Meze 12 Classics, and will be buying the Meze 99 Classics soon. Which DAC will be best under 12K price point with good compatibility for both Android and iOS ?
P. S - I've tested Shanling UA2 Plus and found it quite treble heavy, so, left that.
Under that price point, we would say go for a Portable Bluetooth DAC & Amp like the FiiO - BTR5 2021!
I am waiting for answer ! Thank you.
Does AK XB10 give give 16 to 32bit output too? Will the experience we as good as attaching into the device directly itself with an iem earphone ?

Can I connect my ipod touch to a portable DAC and then connect output from the DAC to my studio monitor Presonus Eris E 4.5?
Hi Headphone Zone. i watched your video and u got me to purchase a XB10 without any idea how I'm gonna use it. i bought it online and it will arrive in my country any day now. now lies my problem. i intend to use it on my car Upgraded sound system using my Android phone via Android Auto. the set up now is i plug USB to my car USB port and C to my Android phone on the other end. Now my question is will the XB10 work on my car system and How and what cable do I need if it will work? I hope I'm not asking too much. Thanks in Advance.
Thank you ❤
Great video! really helpful. recently i'm planning to buy DAC. can you recommend me one?
I have audio technica m40x, and also iem tfz t2.
I want more of detailed sound. which one should i buy? maybe I will pick 3 options
1. shanling ua3, 2. fiio ka3, 3. ibasso dc03 pro
Hey there, instead we'd recommend you go for the FiiO - KA13.
Hello, thank you for your great video.
I have a question.
I was going to buy chord mojo 2 in the future.
But it does not have balanced output like 4.4. So in your opinion is it better to buy gryphon which has 4.4 or still buy chord mojo 2 with 3.5 ?
Hey Melissa, We think the Chord Mojo 2 is a great option and in no way inferior to the Gryphon, although it is true that the Chord Mojo 2 does not come with a balanced output, if a balanced output is a necessary requirement for you then you can definitely go for the Gryphon. Hope you found this helpful!
@@headphone_zone Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
What could be the reason, or what was the conclusion regarding the reviews of BTR5 being negative, or they said it does not make any difference? Were the users missing something, or is it really a hit or miss product?
Terrific video. I'm looking to upgrade my Hip Dac for something with more power for my planar magnetic headphones. Can you give me some recommendations?
Certainly! If you're looking to upgrade for more power, you can check out the FiiO Q11 in the budget segment, which offers a good balance of power and performance. The iFi Audio xDSD Gryphon is also a great choice, delivering ample power and excellent sound quality. However, your choice might also depend on the specific planar magnetic headphones you plan to use, so make sure the DAC/amp can adequately drive those headphones. Keep the music playing!
Guy knows his DAC’s 👍
Hi Raghav! I watch and love all your videos and recommendations and so I bought the 1 custom junior and i am currently paring it with shanling UP-2 as pre amp and connecting it with topping nx-3 so can you recommend me some good amp for my 1 custom junior so that I don’t have to look elsewhere pretty please 🙏
Hey there, your current audio chain is pretty good. If you're looking to try something different, then you can go for the FiiO - BTR7.

Hi, thanks for informative video. I would like your opinion about using DAC in a car. I am using Apple Music lossless streaming through Bluetooth in my car. Will a DAC connected to AUX port sound better. If yes Bluetooth or wired? Thanks
Hi! Using a DAC in your car can enhance the audio quality, especially when streaming lossless music. Connecting a DAC to the AUX port can improve the sound compared to Bluetooth, as wired connections generally offer better audio performance. Give it a try, and you might notice a significant difference in the sound clarity and overall experience. Enjoy your music! 🎵🚗
Does ibasso dac boost soundstage of headphones such as Sennheiser HD 599?
I need to buy a dac which is compatible with my iPhone 13 Pro and Sony wh-1000XM5
What do you recommend ??

Sir while searching a similar dongle dac on Amazon I came accross Audiocular D07 which provides CX31993 DAC and MAX97220 Amplifier.

Does this ddhifi dongle dac also has an amplifier chip?

Hey, nice video, just a question. I have some iems which are fine for an apple cable, but would that be fine for headphones too (I'm planning to buy sennheiser 660s2s)?
Hey there, the Sennheiser - HD 660S2 is an open-back headphone and requires a dedicated amplifier such as the FiiO - K7 to provide adequate power so the headphone can perform at its best, we'd also like to mention that open-back headphones are made for indoor use and are not recommended to be used outdoors. Hope this was helpful!

So did you buy any ?...If yes do give your opinion
I was looking for such review; thanks a lot 🙏🏼 I’ve the Sennheiser Momentum 4 which I intend to use via cable. Would you suggest the iBasso DC03 Pro or anything else?
Hey there, we're glad you liked our video. Since the Sennheiser Momentum 4 is a wireless headphone as well, it comes with an inbuilt DAC hence using an external DAC along with it won't make much of a difference. Hope this was helpful!
@@headphone_zone thanks so much, I appreciate your feedback. According to the feedback in the community, most of which who are using a dragonfly are quite happy and are reporting about a noticeable difference. Furthermore, your review regarding iBass DC03 Pro made my decision and I ended up buying one :D So I'm sad to hear that you wouldn't expect any difference. I'll have to wait a bit untill the dongle arrives, finally I shall give you my feedback. Hopefully, I'll have positive experiences to report :)
@@headphone_zone Hi there. I just wanted to provide a short feedback. I’m using my dongle for a couple of days now and I have to say; there is a noticeable sound improvement. It is quite louder, all volume controls must be operated from the dongle itself. It drains the phone battery ever so slightly. I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro and the iBasso works great. At max volume the bass gets distorted so I tweaked the EQ settings and everything felt much better. The difference is there and sound great.
Any blue tooth wireless earphone having dac.and available in Amazon or Flipkart in India
will it work even thougb I have audio jack on my phone?
As all these portable DACs rely on usb connectivity, I would like to know which of them (if any) is bypassing the Android restriction of usb sound output. As far as I know, except some very specific, audio-oriented smartphones from Sony and China, most of the android smartphones have audio output restrictions that limit the possibility of these DACs.
You bring up an important point about Android's audio restrictions, but it's worth noting that recent Android updates have addressed this issue to some extent. Many modern smartphones are now capable of outputting high-quality audio through USB connections, which includes support for external DACs like the ones you mentioned. However, it can still vary depending on the smartphone and its specific implementation. We've observed that several portable DACs work well with a variety of Android devices, but it's always a good idea to check compatibility with your specific phone model before making a purchase. The landscape for USB audio on Android is gradually improving, and it's encouraging for audiophiles seeking better sound quality on their mobile devices. 📱🔊👍
Hello there, first, I am a huge music lover and I am totally crazy about Trap, EDM's and Hip-Hop. Now I am confused that what should I purchase a TWS under 5k or a wired earphone with a cheap DAC, which one do you think would give me that thump, bass and extra fun. I also do not have a deep pocket to spend on, and I also know that a wired earphone with a DAC might exceed more than 5k budget but still I can give it a try but if and only if it can give me a better sound quality than any TWS under 5k in the market. Request you to recommend. Thank you.
phones play the same like cheap dacs. Don't buy dac. But iem only, hola truthears etc. If tws buds 2 pro - believe its worth the money and will be better than iem and dac for same money
Hey Raghav. Thanks for this video. Quite helpful. I have a question. Which DAC should I buy if I'm using IEMs costing under Rs5000? I have ventured into electronic dance cost me 1100. Should I change to another? I listen to music on Apple Music on my iPhone.
Hey there we recommend you go for the iFi Audio - GO Link instead.
Hi Aman, can you please share your IEM and its experience?

Bought iBasso DC03 Pro. Everytime I pair it with UAPP + Sennheiser HD 650, it just blows my mind. The onlything annoys me is the USB connected on the DAC is kinda loose. When I insert the stock USB adapter on the DAC, it doesn't fit snugly. It slightly wobbles if I try to move it. I am not sure if it is normal as my previous DAC was DC05 which had the USB cable attached.
I think your HD650 will benefit with a more powerful amp, something desktop.
Is it just the stock type c cable that wobbles? Have you tried other cables if it is a snug fit?

Excluding FiiO BTR5 and BTR7, which good DAC/amp dongle with bluetooth, MQA support and eq included do you recommend?
Hey there, we recommend the Shanling - UP5
I will buy fatfreq mini and mangrid top, both totally doesnt belong to the budget realm (400$ and 550$). And a decent open back headphones and to power these i am confused between shangling ua5 vs hipdac 2. I have also heard great things about btr7 but as you said raghav they have chip of cheaper dacs but with a bluetooth option which rather looks hilarious to me personally. So should i go for hipdac2 for more power or up5 for better quality is my question. Budget is more flexible if needed. Thx.
Thats a tough one. I dont know if a one size fits all approach will work. But if your looking for an open back headphone to add to your collection, you'll almost certainly need something with the output power of a IFI hipdac 2.
I Would recommend getting separate desktop setup for headphones.
@@alltech7435 sadly being a college student i neither have place nor the will.but thx for your recc. Ofc desktop amps are better but I deliberately chose an easy to drive headphones(thieaudio ghost).

In your upcoming video on latest DACs, could you also please test the DACs with iPhones as well. Some DACs don’t seem to be working with iPhones and that’s causing difficulties in choosing a DAC.

Hello, I am planning to get the Sony WH1000XM5 for my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and I don't know which portable USB-C dongle DAC would fit me the most. Which one would have the best quality in terms of a wider sound range also such as punshy bass and clear highs? Also it would be good if it would make difference when listening to music on CZcams.
Hello! It's great that you're looking to enhance your audio experience with the Sony WH1000XM5 and a portable USB-C dongle DAC for your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. When considering a DAC, you might want to explore options like the iFi Audio GO Link, the FiiO Q11, or the FiiO BTR 7. These DACs are known for providing a wider sound range, punchy bass, and clear highs, enhancing the overall audio quality of your headphones. While listening to music on platforms like CZcams, a good DAC can certainly make a difference, offering improved clarity and fidelity. You might also want to consider wired headphones for the best listening experience. Keep the music playing! 🎶🎧
@@headphone_zone Which the pros for FiiO BTR7? Many people say it messes up the eq sometimes
Which DAC would be good for a wider sound with Sennheiser HD599 SE?
Fiio KA03, ibasso Dc03 Pro?
Hey there, you can go for the FiiO KA3.
Hi, can anyone help me does Astell&Kern - AK XB10 support apple music Hi-Res lossless audio. OR I should go for wired DACs available on headphonezone??
Hello! While the Astell&Kern AK XB10 will certainly enhance your listening experience, it's important to note that it won't deliver true lossless quality with Apple Music's Hi-Res offerings. For that, you may want to explore wired DACs as they can provide a more authentic Hi-Res experience. Feel free to reach out if you need further guidance!
Please suggest a best DAC to pair up with Philips Fidelio X2HR. I already bought Shanling UA1 from HPZ but I felt the UA1 is causing the X2HR to be somewhat sibilant and also slightly less bass. The sibilance is not present when I use the headphones without UA1.
So, I need a DAC that does not cause this sibilance. (PS- I listen to Apple Music with Lossless quality and not interested in Bluetooth DACs)
Preferable Price - Max 5k.
Hey there, you can go for the FiiO - KA2.
How can Astell & Kern XB10 help improving Car music? I see a photo on your website showing its placed in a car, but couldn't find it's mention anywhere in the video or text. Or what do you suggest for the car that has CarPlay/Android auto.
You would connect the XB10 to your car using an Aux cable. The output from the xb10, is connected to the Aux input in your car. That way your going to use the DAC, instead of the in-built DAC on your car.
Hello. In the states here. Think I came across this looking for DACs.
I currently have a FiiO Q1MKii. I was looking at getting a pair of Hifiman Sundaras… any suggestion for a portable DAC/AMP to pair with them? Using an iPhone XR currently but will probably find myself with a 14 or 15 soon?
Hey there, since you're an iPhone user, you'll want something that works seamlessly with your setup. The FiiO Q1MKii you have is a solid choice, but if you're looking to upgrade, options like the FiiO Q11, the iFi Audio Hip-DAC 2, or the BTR7 (in wired mode) would pair beautifully with the Sundaras. How does fiio KA11 compare with ifi go link?
Also, ka11 seems to be using same chip as ibasso dc03 pro and moondrop dawn pro. I like the form factor of ka11, but if I’ll get better output with dawn pro or ibasso 03pro, I would rather go with one of those. What are your thoughts?
Maybe we need a new video on new dacs that came out recently 😊
We appreciate your interest! Stay tuned for our upcoming video where we'll cover the latest DACs. Regarding the comparison between the FiiO KA11 and the iFi Go Link, we haven't had the chance to review the KA11 yet. However, based on our knowledge, the Go Link, Dawn Pro, and DC03 Pro are likely to offer more driving power than the KA11. Ultimately, your decision should be based on your specific preferences and requirements. Keep an eye on our channel for the latest updates and comparisons! 😊
Bro, any budget DAC recommendations (preferably under 10k inr) for my recently bought Sennheiser HD 650. For use on PC
We'd recommend you go for the FiiO - KA13.
PLS suggest a dac for JBL Tour 1 M2
Hey
I am planning to buy a portable Dac/Amp within 10k budget. I use following IEMs - RHA MA 750 & KSN ZX Pro along with ATH M50X.
I have shortlisted on :
1. Fiio BTR5k 2021
2. Fiio KA3
3. Ibasso DC03 Pro
I listen to mostly Bollywood music & would prefer a wider soundstage & good clarity & bass.
I am willing to forego convenience of bluetooth connectivity if the music quality is noticeably better in the non bluetooth versions (2 &3) but if it is more or less same, I would prefer the bluetooth one. I don't see much advantage of the bluetooth version as anyway I would be having wired connection to deal with but the BTR5K seems to be a good bet.
Also mightily confused between 2 & 3 in terms of music quality.
Please help me out.
Thanks!
Hey there, given your budget and preferences, we recommend you go for the FiiO - BTR5 2021.
@@headphone_zone would the btr5 in wired mode sound as good as ka3 ? Also got to know about the K3 model and that's another addition to the confusion
And btr5 isn't in stock now😢
