- GSM Tony Gibson divides the parade from Bute House, Charlotte Square to St. Andrews Square in Edinburgh into two halves.
Group 1 depart at 10:15am on the nose led by The Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
Group 2 depart 10:17am led by The RAF Central Scotland Pipes & Drums
Tony, a real hero last week at 40th Anniversary of Falklands War parade, where he saved a downed pipers life with CPR, stresses the importance of staying safe.

An Edinburgh laddie born n bred I never served in Her Majesty’s Armed forces . But from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for your service.
Lots if your Country men did. And still do and hopefully will in the future.
But let's hope that in the future all return safely to their homes.

My great grandfather was a Scot he joined the royal Irish rifles in 1908 ,, until 1915 got. A medical discharge,,his son my grandfather,, Royal Navy at 17 ,,1936 ,,1948 ,, breed em tough ,, biggest respect from northern Ireland ☘️☘️☘️

Scottish pipe bands are the most dignified bands in the world. I like how even the police officer that travelled to the side of the band walked in time to the music. Great video!
I love it when some come along who think they're more Scottish than I am! I am 22 years old but I was educated to be proud of my country in every way!

I am an american but I imagine being in battle somewhere pinned down and everything looks hopeless. Then you hear the sound of bagpipes in the distance and you know reinforcements are coming and you'll be saved.
I grew up on Boys Own books.
Stories of Scottish soldiers hanging on to the stirrups of the Cavalry and thus being expressed into battle.

There's some beautiful mountains in California just north east of Fresno California. I went up to a Renaissance fair slipped out under the stars and the next morning just before sunrise just as a glow of sunlight we're starting there was a fog over the pond and across the pond I couldn't see him but there was a lone Piper and it was the most wonderful sound to hear in the morning

Strange but the opening band music sounds far more Russian than it does Scottish. Listen to any of the Victory Day parades in Red Square, Moscow if you don't believe me.
The opening march is Arromanches, composed by AE Kelly in 1948 to commemorate the allied landings during WW2 at french region of ARROMANCHES near the Normandy Beach head.
Armed Forces Day and the standard bearer had the Union Jack upside down. The Warrant Officer in charge should be ashamed as should be the standard bearer. Unbefuckinglievable.
