    I love putting fresh pine in a mason jar and soaking it in cleaning vinegar. I then use that vinegar to clean and protect my house

    • @chillcreep4926
      @chillcreep4926 Před 6 měsíci +1

      By "cleaning vinegar", do you mean a different type than cooking / pickling vinegar?

    • @xXfireflyyXx
      @xXfireflyyXx Před 6 měsíci +4

      @chillcreep4926 great question!
      Cleaning vinegar has a higher acidity than vinegars we eat or pickle with. It's typically only recommended for cleaning because of the higher acidity and you will find it in the cleaning isle instead of in the food isles at a store.
      However, basic white distilled pickling vinegar works fine as well.

    This is incredibly perfect timing. I was planning to spend this lunar cycle focusing on pine because it’s the most readily available plant I have near me. I have a whole bowl of it on my counter that I picked up from my yard two days ago just waiting for me to work with ❤️🌲

    I love pine. Pine oil is a main ingredient in my protection oil. The original Pine-Sol was an adaptation of a hoodoo recipe for a cleaning solution used for protection. 😊❤🌲

    Annabel, thank you for your wonderful video. I use pine frequently in my practice, I am drawn to it and find it to bring me peace. I always have pine hanging in my apartment either in a doorway, in a wreath, or in a window. We have huge pine trees; a few different species, that grow in front of the apartment I love seeing them daily.

    My favorite pine practice is to go into the woods and mindfuly collect sap to use as incense. I have a large mason jar filled with pine sap nuggets, that I dry then powder and burn. I t a small ritual I find very soothing.
    Note: I don't harm the tree I only take a small amount from many different trees and only from a prexisting wound or sap flow.💜🌱

    Very good info thank you. Did you know that in the midwest there was an "Old wives tale" that if you planted or had a pine tree in your yard, when it got tall enough to cast a shadow over you, then you would die. That is why there are very few LARGE pine trees around homes in the midwest. I learned this tale back in the late 70's when I had to live with my (ex)inlaws. I missed my fir & pine friends here in Oregon, so as soon as possible I moved right back into their loving arms. btw, there were a lot of other "old wives tales" that were told to me while there that were also extremely weird. I was pregnant and was told that if I reached my arms above my head it would wrap the umbilical cord around the baby's neck. Let's just say that Kansas City is not on my vacation bingo card.

      🌲🍀🐾Some people are very allergic to pine resin or "sap". I know one person who can't even get too close to a pine tree without breaking out in a rash or hives almost immediately. It's too bad😔🐾🍀🌲.

    • @Kira_Martel
      @Kira_Martel Před 5 měsíci

      It could be a pine allergy, but it could also be a sensitivity to the synthetic form of pine fragrance. I know a few people who can tolerate natural pine essential oil in scented products but the synthetic version gives them instant migraines and nausea.

      Ingestion of pine has shown to be an abortifacient in cattle. Researchers have identified the compound as isocupressic acid.

      @@avanijoySome evergreens can be strong purgatives and even have abortificent and emmenagogue properties of their own. Pine is highly aromatic, aromatic herbs move the blood, anything that moves the blood can be dangerous in pregnancy.

    Which pine is eatable and which one is poisonous? How can I identify them? 🥹

    • @Kira_Martel
      @Kira_Martel Před 5 měsíci +1

      Look up a botanical key for the Pine family. It will tell you how to identify the different kinds, usually by their needles. I don't think I've heard of anything in _Pinus_ being poisonous, but it's always good to double-check the species that grow near you.
