@@darryltobiko4576 Correct. They have no idea what they're talking about because Real posted the first training session video on their CZcams channel 3 days ago with Hazard and Tibo clearly fit. Ramons had too big of a weekly wage bill and Varane has been average since the World Cup victory. It makes fiscal sense to get rid of both because of injury and wages while replacing them with Alaba and Eder. I think the real question is: Does Hazard deserve playing time with Rodyrgo playing well. This is a rebuilding year and they need to ship hazard off somewhere to cut the wages down or risk being in the situation that Barca are in where Messi potentially couldn't play until January. Ramos and Varane leaving with Alaba coming in on a free transfer are proactive steps instead of the situation at Barca which is reactive to the financial situation.

I honestly think Militao will have a breakthrough season next year. I know he played well last season towards the end but that was due to Ramos' injury. I think if he's starting and supposed to be the main man next to Alaba, he'll rise his game to the next level as well and I can see him having a fantastic year. He was a highly rated young CB a couple seasons ago and is touted to be one of the best up and coming CB's in world football so I think he'll prove he's good enough and play for Madrid for a very long time.

i agree and i am a barcelona fans, but this is my opinion only as a football fan who watches quality players, madrid fans dont really need to worry, militao now has experience as well playing in the KO stages of CL and stoping, liverpool and he was good against us as well in the last classico, he almost reminds me of a younger varane, pace, tackles, defending, but more aggressive and has character unlike varane who was criticised for not showing enough leadership in the last few years.

Aside from Varane it's the same team that made semi at champions league and lost by a hair la liga. I think they;ll be fine. Ramos hadn't played all year last year. Alaba is great too, especially that Varane last year hasn't been himself. I don't doubt that at his best varane is better DC, but last year he just wasn't. So somehow Real may have upgraded slightly lol. I am a bit worried naturally because I want RM to win as a fan, but not too afraid honestly if that is our rebuilding phase, then we have only room to improve moving forward, I feel hopeful.

Yes Varane was a great cb but that was only when partnered up with Ramos. Yes he could've had a great partnership with Alaba but with his contract finishing in one year it and Varane not looking to extend, it was a great decision to cash in on him now. Plus the way Nacho and Militao ended the season i'm more than ok with letting Varane and Ramos go. Still hurts about Ramos but that's just how it is now a days.

He was horrible against Man City a year ago, but outside of that, he has hardly been any bad. And also, it's easy to lose form when your partner of many years is out injured and you're forced to play with someone that doesn't agree with your playstyle, as well as it taking time to form that bond between centre backs. Maguire is similar to Ramos, being an agressive centre back, so I think they will form a solid partnership, much better than Mag and Lind

There are a lot of reasons why there hasn't been a lot of noise, like the fact that he wanted to leave and fans understanding the financial situation and etc. But as a real Madrid fan I gotta say there's also another reason. Varane is a great footballer, but in terms of personality and charisma, he's... to put it bluntly... Meh. The guy was a blank slate. He wasn't a captivating and charismatic captain like Ramos, he wasn't a killer like CR7 and wasn't a funny guy or joker like Marcelo or even Vasquez. I can't remember a single interview in which he has said something remotely interesting. I remember some years ago I read a quote from Zidane in which he said Varane was a future Real Madrid captain and thought to myself : "that guy? Seriously? ". For me personally, that's the main reason I'm not making a fuss about him leaving. He was part of legendary teams both in real Madrid and France, but he himself was never legendary. Still he's gonna do great in premier league. Great signing for man u.
