Thanks for this video. I’m currently working on my Sr20det swapped s13 and this is my next think to tackle
glad I could help! it’s a quick process so a must do if you want some good ac! good luck
Dude you were just at like 100 somethin subs with the last vid and now it's double just like that. Keep goin!
Thanks for doing this up. Unfortunately, my compressor failed and now have contamination throughout the system. Managed to find a replacement compressor new out of Japan (hard to find my specific model for JDM import with SR20), and have an AC specialist shop that will be doing all the work to bring back to spec. They didn't know if the TX valve was inside the cabin or not, but this has shown where it is and how to get it and the evap out. Hopefully RHD cars are just a mirror of your USDM S13s. Cheers Brendan
Can you post part #s in the description of the things you used in this installation?
Good video. Sometimes your mic is too low, but good editing and great info. thanks a lot.
I’ll keep that in mind I appreciate the input and thank you for watching🙏
Useful video, good job. After you cleaned and flushed the lines, did you dry out the system with nitrogen as recommended on the flush can? If so, at what point? Individual pieces or all together before installing the new dryer?
Hey bro what foam do you use to replace the old stuff, for the exterior of the box, so it makes a good seal and such
This video made me put a hoodie on
I’d much rather be making you take some off instead of dressing up more 👀👀
Ah wish you were in Orlando. No one will go near my skyline nor do they know what to do w the ac
Great video man. I'm new here and slowly restoring my car. Wanted to ask where would i get an AC compressor since they don't make them any more for older year s13's with the ka24de😊
I have some used ones you could get rebuilt . That and I’m working on a retrofit kit for Ka24de and sr20 engines to use a complete new system
Thanks. I need to replace and was wondering if i should buy new individual parts or full used one on ebay. Now i want to buy new and do it myself.
You should, it’s not too hard just make sure you replace the orings and don’t pinch any when tightening! good luck
Is the box the same for 89-94 chassis? My friend told me the size of the lines on the box are different between dual cam and single cam chassis.
The lines in the engine bay are infact different but as far as I can remember the evap boxes are the same
If I have a clogged expansion valve, won't the low side pressure gradually drop regardless of if I'm driving or idling? As long as I'm idling Ac blows cold, but when I take off to drive it becomes ambient temp after some time. I'll check the low side temp after driving and it is very low. Before driving at idle it'd stay at 30 psi. Thanks!
The expansion valve aids the conversion from high side to low side . The refrigerant passing through the expansion valve changes from liquid to vapor as this happens . If the expansion valve isn’t functioning properly it won’t allow the correct vaporization of the refrigerant therefore the system will not cool properly and pressure will be inconsistent.
One thing to check for is if your compressor is continuing to run once you start moving or if it keeps clicking off . Also confirm your ac condensor fan is functioning
I need help find an a/c line to order it’s on the driver side and comes behind the radiator holding there by a bolt at the end
Hey!
Possible to provide us the part #: or link to the expansion valve and O-rings? 🙏

This is the one I always use
Murrray part number #38637
Oring kit is just a universal hnbr oring kit also sourced from oriellys
Thanks for great video but what is wrong with Aerosol can ?! 😶
I mean you can use a can but I highly advise buying a vacuum pump and a set of ac manifold gauges so you know exactly how much you are putting in and what your pressures are looking like
What is the name of the part/sensor you attached to the housing at 10:56?
That silver piece I screwed in? that’s the blower motor resistor. If your blower motor only functions on one or 2 speeds this will be the culprit
what else should i check for in my stock ka? fuses? pulleys? compressor?
pretty much my ac was working but it started blowing hot air out of nowhere and i connected a freon bottle to the line and it doesn’t want to suck air from the bottle
@@robertcortinas4536 sounds like the compressor isn’t engaging , need to verify why it isn’t . Does the ac light come on the climate control? (Bypass pressure switch to verify if it’s pressure related) still not turning on? Try to manually engage compressor with 12v directly. If it doesn’t turn on the clutch could be locked up. If it does turn on then it’s either low pressure related or the thermo control amp malfunction. Never use those Freon bottles unless you have a full set of guages real easy way to overcharge the system or damage compressor.
Hi, would it affect cooling performance if you don’t use cork tape
It shouldn’t affect it much although due to condensation that the cork tape keeps in it may slightly alter but I can’t imagine it would be a large difference
how similar is this job on a z32?
The part is identical they both use the same part number so the job should be very similar. Only difference will be how it’s mounted in cabin but still fairly certain z32 is also removable without pulling dash board
Having an issue just started today where the ac was less cold. And had a slight musty scent to the air. It would get cold and less cold on or off throttle.
Very odd and I don’t know cars much at all. Bleh… 😂
Thank you for making this video. I plan on retrofitting AC into my 91
