- So this video is a little bit different, we were invited down to Somerset by some tank loving hillbillys and let loose on their wasteland with a variety of ex military vehicles! Shenanigans ensued, trees were crushed, cider was drunk and a reo got dragged around the site backwards!

Make sure you have the drivers hatch fully secured when you are driving. My father built them at ROF Leeds, his mate got killed on the test track because he did not latch the hatch. When he braked hard it hit him on the head and killed him.
thats horrific
Wonderfull, took me back to my days in 3 RTR, on exercise in West Germany, I started my military days as Chieftain driver and finished my time as gunnery instructor crew commander all good time, did a few exercises at BATUS. Happy days.
Got to love that L60 scream
Love it, great bunch of hill Billy's just like me 😂, keep excellent videos rolling in, I 😍 chieftain tanks, best noise this side of a Napier Deltic tidy!
Best channel on CZcams and to top it off your proudly from this country 👌
Thorneycroft Nubian Major firetruck! Being ex REME, that’s RE ME, not REMY😉, I fitted an engine to one of those in Belize, when the RAF said that they couldn’t. Love the sound of the Leyland L60, great engines, when working properly. We used to take families out on the ARRV’s when families days were allowed, then all deemed too dangerous!
Looks like you all had fun.
Love it..... Fun and antic's were had by all...... Keep up the good work😀
Epic video, looked like so much fun!!
Excellent, looks like you had a great weekend, as an ex armoured corp driving instructor my only advice would be get up the ‘box quicker don’t hold in gear so long
Yep new drivers were a gunner’s nightmare some of those gear changes ouuuuuch
I keep telling my misses that 😉 👍
Way over revving the van when she drives!
Yep, 1-2-3 in the length of the tank when pulling away
Lovely seeing and hearing a chieftain running. The guns stabilisation not working!
Way too much fun, jealous. 👌
The Mk9 fire engine brings back memories Cummins 903 powered the zero stood no chance in a tug of war👍
Boys will be boys. 😀
I just love the sound of tanks .👍😀
Omg that chieftain engine sound absolutely sweet as a nut music to my ears.
Country and western and tanks...... That's not a mix I'd of ever thought possible 😂😂
That REO was my favourite
Love the sound
Sod the tanks that beast of a fire engine is the thing to have
The neighbourhood will be chuffed 🎉
Looks like a great day out
Well, that has to be the furthest and fastest a Chieftain has travelled since it was on a railcar in BAOR.
It’s not a bad one as far as chieftains go
Brings it back, on Soltau training area, happy days..
That looked like a boss day out......Excellent.
That looks like a Mk9 fire engine. I used to drive one of these (amongst others) at RAF Brawdy back in the early eighties. Although we had some newer trucks, mk10's and mk11's we always thought of the Mk9 as the daddy, it was built like a tank and would just keep going and going.
It was my favourite vehicle there!
Great to see that tank crawl over that spoil heep 👍👌fastrac looks nice I'm looking for one at the moment enjoyed vid thanks 😆
Looks like you all had good fun 👍🏻
Love the tug o’war, 1-0 to the Fire Service, I suppose one might say it had youth on it’s side!
Not sure that the tree deserved demolishing though, after all it was munching up the exhaust fumes.
That looked like so much fun!! Lucky stiff!
Matt, this is superb, this would be my idea of perfect weekend
Really enjoyed these vehicles, I have subscribed and look forward to more in the future.
Best sounding Tank, hits hard between shifts. That Fire truck is a fing beast
The L60 is a lovely sounding lump
I think everyone should have a tank
I would love one
something for the weekend sir😜. Yes £2k of diesel please ⛽️💸.
🇺🇦 here we come. 👍🏴
Sigh .. boys will play !! Lol
That beats " the mud pit" at Duxford !!
You lucky sods!. 🤣 You'd be arrested and your kit confiscated here if you did that here in Aus!. Bloody doo gooders!... Great vid!.....
Don't let the man from the ministry see you running that tank on red 😂
It’s running on anything flammable
I think you are the luckiest bloke on earth
Have tank will drive it 👍👍👍
that fire engine is a beast
think this would be a nightmare for Greta if she saw this 😂old vehicles and killing trees with them brilliant vid as always
How dare you😂
Next up Napier Deltic and some diesel runaway engines😍
Three gallons to the mile? Would sir like green shield stamps.
Thats my idea of a great day out, can I come next time, can bring the Tomcat !
THAT NOISE FROM THE CHIEFTAN!!!!! ORGASM WORTHY LOL
They do sound rather special!
195 gallons gave you 135 miles in the chieftain if remember right and whatever in the bottom of the engine bay along with oil and coolant!!😂 great fun to drive though. You had to time 3rd to 4th gear right as you go from low to high range gear ratio. 👍
brilliant video all fun but when in combat bet the noise of the tanks was terrifying if you was on foot.
I was thinking a few days ago we have not had a video from the professional crack team in a long time!
We have a plan slowly coming together to fund me being in the workshop full time, should allow us to get the video rate up massively
@@fittermat Excellent news.
You'll get your subscribers up to 300k in no time.
Truck v fire engine? I was fully expecting a hail of shrapnel as a transmission exploded!
Forget Ferrari, Aston Martin or even a merlin engine, nothing sounds as good as a chieftain.
Amen to that
That looks like it must have been an awfully hard weekend for you 🤣. The reo though, being dragge round like a toy 🤣🤣. I’m impressed with the fire engine! That an air actuated gearbox? With just forward or back to chance gears?.
I thought the same, air operated sequential box. Certainly looks interesting to drive.
Always a mystery to me about the vulnerability to tank drivers face's?
Looks like Operation Braveheart 1984.
wonder how many litres of diesel you get to the 100 meters of use in the Chieftain tank?
Between all the vehicles we were well over 500l of diesel for the weekend
love this shit ❤
Is that the Chieftain that Whistling Diesel bought?
is that Deuce and a half Italian surplus? :)
The only thing I ever travelled in when in the RAF REGIMENT. 30 year ago , were a second hand warrior on Salisbury plain. Spent ,30 mins bagging around like a marble in a can , felt sick as fuck at the end
Fast track v the fire engine?
Totally a stupid question I admit! But if needs be, in times of 'Emergency', could a government, requisition these privately owned military vehicles, etc for war, insurrection or rebellion. To use if suitable for the need arising?
Must have been a grand or two in diesel.
Not far off!
Was that the tallest hill in England?
It was before we drove over it repeatedly
Did you use a gramophone to do the voice over at the start ya cheap Yorkshire man 😉
As an actual Appalachian-American what was the purpose of driving over the tires?
It helps prevent the tracks from tearing up the tarmac when turning.
@@anthonylewis679 Thank you.
fuck health and safety lol
We don’t need that where we’re going!
i would buy that for $
We have several for sale
And where the fuck have you been
Mats been doing boring lorry driving nonsense but hopefully more CZcams now
