    I’m so on the fence of upgrading the factory radio because I’m doing a restoration. This video has been extremely helpful 👍🏼

    Nicely done. In my lifetime, I’ve owned 1 mk2 celica and 1 mk2 supra in my younger days.

    Video bypass cable was the way to go - easy as pie. All reinstalled and doing great now - a million thanks for your excellent counsel. Now I need to ‘program’ the rear camera...

    Thanks for sharing your videos they are great tutorials. I have a 1984 Toyota Celica GTS Convertible and the dash panel of your care and mine are pretty much the same. Have you worked on other peoples car before? I ask because you have experience with yours and wouldn't mind if you installed my car stereo.

      Thanks for supporting.
      I've never worked on other people's car since everyone has their own preference in doing things.

      @@johnsneverendinglistofrand1377 That's very true. So far I like what you have done to your cars and how you pay attention to detail.

    I installed the radio but it won't turn on is the bypass necessary?

    • @johnsneverendinglistofrand1377
      @johnsneverendinglistofrand1377  Před 6 měsíci +1

      The bypass is only tell the radio I'm parked and can watch movies.
      You may not be getting power to the radio. Maybe a bad fuse, bad wire or a bad radio.

    I see your relay/approach to the e-brake but simply don’t understand it. Sorry, moron here! If I go to an electronics store they can sell me a relay and will diagram? And I leave the parking brake/switch ‘alone’? I like that...

    • @johnsneverendinglistofrand1377
      @johnsneverendinglistofrand1377  Před 3 lety

      So if you have a relay 85 and 86 are used to activate a magnetic switch. One has to be positive and one negative. Doesn't matter just choose 1 to be positive and 1 negative. For negative I ground it near the radio. The positive trigger is the remote wire from the radio.
      I believe I grounded connection 30. Connection 79??? Connects to to green brake wire on the radio.

    • @Rocket2me
      @Rocket2me Před 3 lety

      @@johnsneverendinglistofrand1377 Now it’s official - I am in over my head! Not sure what numbers 85 and 86 refer to. I do have a different radio, a Boss, and am using a harness specific to the 85 Supra - just have two wires, a green for e-brake and (I think) a purple - both coming from the harness. If I buy the relay it sounds like I connect these wires to it and then ground the relay. Am I close to right?

    • @johnsneverendinglistofrand1377
      @johnsneverendinglistofrand1377  Před 3 lety +1

      Those numbers are referenced to a car relay like I have in my video.
      If you buy a bypass relay it'll be easier. Just match the colors to your radio wires.

      @@johnsneverendinglistofrand1377 ok thanks - last question - is the correct term bypass relay, does it need to be more specific than that (capacity, purpose?) many many thanks!
