      I used to work at an auto parts store, and a customer turned a yellow top in as a core. I was in charged of looking for good used batteries and reselling them as "used batteries". I left that battery charging overnight and it worked so I bought it. I ran that battery for like 7 years and the only reason I replaced it was because I was afraid it was gonna die pretty soon 😂

    You didn’t explain why the yellow top was best for those extra electronic applications though, what is the determining factor that sets them aside from one another and which number do i need more of

    • @optimabatteries
      @optimabatteries  Před 5 měsíci

      The YELLOWTOP is designed & warrantied for deep-cycle use, while the REDTOP is designed & warrantied for starting applications and not deep-cycle use. The chemistry of the YELLOWTOP battery allows it to handle deep discharges better than the chemistry of the REDTOP. That ability to be deep-cycled does come at the expense of some cranking power though, which is why the REDTOP has more cranking amps.

    • @optimabatteries
      @optimabatteries  Před 7 měsíci

      It's hard to say definitively, without knowing how big the system and how much power you typically draw from it. We can say an isolated starting battery would be a good idea, to make sure no matter how much you discharge the battery (or batteries) powering your stereo, that you always have enough engine cranking power to get home

    • @optimabatteries
      @optimabatteries  Před 6 měsíci

      Anytime your lights dim, that means your demand is outpacing your alternator's ability to provide power & you are drawing power from your batteries. After you get done with a Big 3 upgrade, we would recommend an alternator upgrade

    Quick question is there a way to swap the sales out of these batteries or refill the acid if it does not charge up? Or is it just time to trade it in?

    • @optimabatteries
      @optimabatteries  Před 6 měsíci

      There is not. Whenever you see "refurbished" or "remanufactured" OPTIMA batteries being advertised, it is typically a battery that was returned under warranty, but was only deeply-discharged. The seller will charge it up, wipe it down with a wet rag and call it a day. Please be sure to turn in your old battery for recycling to avoid having to pay a core fee when buying a replacement

    What i want to know is the difference between theese and say the DH7 style battery... whats the difference

    • @optimabatteries
      @optimabatteries  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The DH5, DH6 & DH7 are all DIN batteries. We could not use our SPIRALCELL technology in this footprint, because of the short height of these batteries. However, like our SPIRALCELL batteries, all of our DIN batteries still use 99.99% pure virgin lead and thick, cast straps to connect the cells, as opposed to the weaker tombstone welds found in most other batteries

    🔴 Right now I have both these batteries. #Redtop as my #StartBattery connected to the factory alternator, and a #Yellowtop as my #AuxiliaryBattery connected to my Auxiliary alternator, yes i have two alternators and two batteries one vehicle different charging system sharing a common ground. My question is CAN I run my red and yellowtop in parallel with a fused isolator in between❓️

    • @optimabatteries
      @optimabatteries  Před 11 měsíci +3

      If the purpose of a fused isolator is to protect against overcurrent in the circuit, then the isolator doesn’t change that the batteries are connected in parallel and should be the same size, type and age.

      @@optimabatteries so is it's safe to assume when I'm at my local auto parts and I buy two matching optima batteries... they are identical age?

    • @optimabatteries
      @optimabatteries  Před 11 měsíci +3

      @@Anthonydemone generally, we've found OPTIMA batteries at auto parts stores to be very similar in age, at least in terms of like sizes. Some sizes may not be as popular and may sit on the shelf longer. You can identify the specific date an OPTIMA battery was produced by looking at the 10-digit serial number on the "Non-Spillable" label. The first digit is the year of production and the next three digits are the Julian date, so every battery we build today starts with the serial number 3254xxxxxx. It's extremely unlikely you'll find batteries on the shelf that were produced on the exact same date, but they're typically within a few weeks of each other, which is ideal.

      I DISCOVERED THE ISSUE ABOUT A MONTH AGO, AFTER BUYING THE NOCO GENIUS2... I HAVE 3 CLASSICS THAT SIT FOR A FEW MONTHS AT A TIME... SO, AFTER BUYING THE NOCO TO MAINTAIN A CHARGE WHILE SITTING, I DISCOVERED ALL 3 BATTERIES WERE VERY LOW... I PUT THE NOCO ON BATTERY #1 FOR 2 DAYS... WHEN I CHECKED IT, IT WAS STILL VERY LOW... SO, I FIGURED IT WAS TOO FAR GONE... I DID THE SAME WITH THE OTHER 2 BATTERIES... ONLY ONE OF THEM INCREASED SLIGHTLY, BUT IMMEDIATELY WENT BACK DOWN ONCE I DISCONNECTED THE NOCO TO CHECK THE VOLTAGE...
      SO, I HAD DECIDED TO REPLACE THE OPTIMAS AS SOON AS I COULD DETERMINE A GOOD REPLACEMENT, UNTIL I SAW A COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE REPLYING IN THESE COMMENTS... (i had contacted the company for advice, with no response... so i am very appreciative of your feedback)
