      Same 😂 I get my period but its very random I thought it as sgetting better because I finally got 2 in a row but this months fucked up again.
      My parents don't know, I'm way too scared to talk to them about it but I'm trying to eat more which I think is my problem.
      My boyfriend literally thinks I'm crazy about wanting my period so much and to how happy I get havining it... For a couple hours and then I despise it😂

      @annijalipatova914 Před 5 lety +10

      It's always been random. It started when I was 14 so almost 3 years ago. And it's never been consistent, for a while I thought it was just trying to find the right timings and stuff but because I suffer withanorecia, anxiety and possible ptsd I have a lot of stress and can't get enough sleep at all.

      it’s unhealthy to not get your period, if you don’t have your period for a while it prevents you from having kids and much more stuff that could effect you in the future. i lost my period and it’s about to be 6 months without it. i get it it sucks having a period but we have it and need it for a reason, and mostly everyone wants to be healthy that’s why most girls want their periods back. and to me personally it’s stressful that i don’t have it because i could be dealing with major health problems in the future 😕

It is such a coincidence but I have experienced the exact same things you are speaking about regarding PCOS and Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, my Gynecologist put me on these artificial hormone supplements but it just felt off to me /I was never diagnosed with ha, but my research convinced me that I had it/ I have a BMI of 17 where I am clearly trying to recover and get my period back. I just wanted to say that I feel so safe seeing someone with such a similar experience, you are giving me hope and to that I am forever thankful. I wish you longevity and good everlasting joy.

After gaining weight to my 'healthy weight'' I stopped eating enough because of the fear and started working out again and put so much stress in my body again. Now that I gained weight unintenionally after weight lifting for 2.5 years I'm not anymore skkinny and it's ever more scary to eat more unlike you when you started eating more from being skinny and continued to do so until you got your period back. :( I'm waiting for new video!

      Sacoyia hi! I purchased and read the book and while there was a lot of good information in there I don’t think it’s the right thing for me. I think in my case I need to lose some weight as opposed to gain. I’ve been working really hard at eating nourishing foods and started going to acupuncture once a week in hopes that they could do something but due to the pandemic that was put on hold. I think my issue is that my hormones are not in balance and it will take A LOT of work to try to get them in order naturally. I do not want to take synthetic hormones because it does more harm than good. I even tried taking Vitex for about 2 month but stopped because it was making me super emotional and irritable. I might give it another shot and stick to it more consistently since I know it takes a minimum of 3 months to see any kind of changes. At this point I’m in the same exact spot I always was unfortunately. If anything changes I will absolutely let you know and would be happy to share my email contact with you if you’d like. I also have never ever met someone else with the same or similar issue as me and you have no idea how I feel knowing I’m not the only person in the world lol.

    In May 2019, I got ED and lost weight so fkin fast. In January, I decided to recovery and Yesterday I just got my period back!!!! Almost 9 months of not having it. I didn't exercise at all and 3 weeks ago, I up my fats and carb intake like hardcore haha. I'm Asian, I ate at least 2 cups of rice every meal (3/day) and lots of sweet potatoes. I craved and ate 1000+ cal of roasted peanuts every day 😂 (I want to eat avocados but in my area they are expensive) I think 3000+ cal per day. My weight at starting recovery is the same at pre-ed weight (yep quasi for months) and now my weight is more I know bcuz my clothes size is up. Although my ED voice screams at me every day, but I don't care and don't gonna weigh myself. Screw ED, I gonna put my majority on my mental and physical health first! I feel better and kinda happy rn.
    Sorry for my English (I'm learning it 😂) Keep doing you guys! I hope your period come back and we'll get better and better soon!

I also started taking the vitamin myo and d chiro inositol, I did gain weight, it was worth it and that normalized eventually. I was patient and I felt like it really was a MIND body thing. Truly hard!!! lost my period for 4 years.
    I have that kind of thought, I wanna set myself free every day and tell myself I allow you don't need to do exercise today and eat whatever you craving for , after overeating felt like my body could accumulate and absorb too much sugar((I truly have lots of sweet food per day ) while standing in front of my Spinning Bike. and then I start to excise no matter how tired I was in the situation. Sometimes, I ate out with friends or family I rather back home early to do excise (kept telling myself quit the thought ) . It's so hard...

Most of the symptoms that u mentioned like stress, underweight, not eating enough, lack of sleep etc, I could definitely relate to. I know I'm one of those people who like to do self diagnosis and buying over the counter medication which has not given me any solutions to my period problem amongst other problems as well.

    I’m so glad I found out your channel ... I can totally relate. I think here’s a good place to share my story. (READ UNTIL THE END I HAVE AN IMPORTANT QUESTION)
    I’ve always been underweight my whole life because that’s naturally my body type, but hence to my young days’ bad eating habits I had a little belly fat. After some years, i had so many self-esteem problems that I started being insecure about every single thing, about me face, personality and finally my body. I felt like I had to like at LEAST one thing about me, so I was looking forward to have “the perfect body”; I started eating super restrictive and poor meals, plus LOTS of cardio (that was a hell of a combination), I got many digestion problems and yeah, I haven’t gotten my period in about three months ...
    Now, I’m way healthier. Yes, I did lose that silly amount of belly fat but I also lost muscle, motivation and happiness. I’ve eaten more these last months and also cut out the amount of exercise I did, I’ve focused on gaining some strength and maybe some muscle back (tho that’s really difficult since I have a model-like body type; fast metabolism, long extremities and low body fat storage). I haven’t gone to a doctor but I’m pretty sure I will go soon. *BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY!!* I’d like to know if doing around 10/20 mins of workout (mostly to tone my body, just a lil cardio on weekend mornings which i might stop doing if I have to) everyday buuuut eating way more than before (based on veggies, meat, carbs and a lil amount of junk food because I naturally stopped craving it as much as the weeks have passed by) affects the process of getting my period back?? As I already said, I haven’t seen a doctor, but I also really want to stop doing things that might affect my health even more since now. I just found out about these yesterday!! I had literally no idea,, and it’s making me worried. I’d be glad if someone could help me out.

    Thank you so much for this video. I haven't had my period for over 4 years and I've tried so many doctors, therapists, blood tests, etc. I've been trying to gain weight for a long time but had a fear of passing a certain weight threshold. I've learned that in order to get my period back, I have to gain more weight than was previously thought possible. It's HARD but this year after learning my bone density dropped I started actually gaining weight and I've gained nearly 15 lbs. and surprisingly although sometimes i get insecure that I don't have a flat stomach anymore, I don't look that different and I've found new clothes that fit me really well! I still haven't gotten my period back but I'm hoping to follow all these tips as best I can in order to actually get it back. Watching the video of you getting your period back was amazing and I can't even imagine what it would feel like, it's been so long. but I hope that day is in reach for me!

So for example, I ate a spoonful of peanut butter with almost every meal (and I really like peanut butter), I drank a lot of whole milk, and I drank smoothies for snack (or else I ate pb + banana toast). I also eat high-calorie granola and full fat yogurt for breakfast (and usually snack on more granola afterwards), and I always try to eat until I'm comfortably full instead of trying to stop because I feel like I ate too much. At first it felt like I was out of control and borderline binging, but after a while that stopped because my appetite and digestion went back to normal.

    Thanks for the great video! I have found chilling out on the exercise front to be SO key. I purged through exercise throughout a lot of my ED years, and I found that even when my weight was in a "healthy" range, my period was absent during times when I was exercising like crazy. I have found exercise and stress to be even more correlated with whether or not I'm getting my period than even BMI, which I think is interesting. And yes, LOVE that you mentioned stress. Seriously though, I didn't get my first period until I was twenty and now looking back, I feel disappointed that despite having visited my doctor on multiple occasions, it was never suggested to me that I eat more / exercise less / chill out. I hope that an awareness that you do not need to look skeletal in order to have an ED is growing, especially in the medical field.

    I’m so glad I found a comment section I can relate to. I’m not sure if it’s because of a schedule change, but I haven’t had my period since February 23 this year, and I’m 12, and idk if I’m overthinking, but I’m really concerned. I have only had 3 periods and I haven’t gotten my period for 88 days, I’m not sure if I skipped a period and got stressed over not having my period or if it’s because my schedule because of the coronavirus went from going to bed around 9-10 and waking up at 6-6:30, to going to bed at around 12-3 in the morning and waking up at around 9-11 in the morning. I haven’t told my mom but I’ve told my best friend and I have been getting signs of my period but I’m scared that somethings wrong with me. My best friend’s period was 1-2 weeks late, but I still haven’t gotten mine. I remember I had my first period for a few days, and then I was expecting my second one but it was obviously irregular, I got it after 46 days, then my next period came a little over a month later and I haven’t gotten one since. I have been getting discharge that is white and I searched it up and that’s apparently a sign you’re getting closer to your period, but I haven’t gotten discharge at all today. It’s kind of weird though, because usually a few days before my period I get little to no discharge at all, so I hope that’s the case. I have also been getting mood swings, nausea and headaches which also happen before my period like most women. Idk I’m just really scared for my health and I don’t want to tell my mom yet. I’m also scared because it’s going to be summer soon and I don’t want to go swimming without knowing when my period will come.
    I almost forgot to mention that one day I was stressing over my period and then i went to go to the bathroom and when I stood up it felt like a mini waterfall and I was like “oh, is that my period?” So I went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was some blood mixed with discharge but I didn’t get anything since then, and I’m assuming it was spotting. I’ve been trying to relieve my stress because I know that can affect my period too but I just can’t. I went about a week not worrying about my period but now I’m just crying more, and I’m not sure if that’s my period or if I’m stressed.
    I also don’t and have never had an eating disorder, but I haven’t been exercising because I’m a dancer and my dance school was cancelled, and I’m obviously not in school so I don’t do gym, so I just stopped exercising out of nowhere, and I don’t think my body is used to that yet.
    I’m honestly just looking for some words that can relieve my stress from this

    I usually NEVER leave a comment under ANY video but I'd like to share my experience with my period loss too (I'll try to keep it short & excuse my english, it's my 3rd language 😬)
    So it all began in 2019 shortly after my 16th birthday. When I saw the pictures of me taken on my birthday I kinda realized that I wanted to lose weight since a few family members of mine had commented on my appearance anyway and I was insecure af. Also I had newly gotten into kpop and the body standards made me feel horrible about myself (I was rlly stupid).
    That's when my "diet" began. At first I basically ate whatever I wanted but in extremely TINY portions. Until I started skipping meals or literally only taking small bites and forcing myself to chew the shit out of the food.
    The weird thing is that I lost my period immediately (on the 1st month into this diet). I instantly noticed but wanted to wait a little longer. By the 3rd month I had already lost almost 8kg (🤦‍♀️) and felt extremely weak, sad and angry all the time. I decided to tell my mom about the absence of my period and she immediately took me to a gynecologist. The doctor literally shamed me for my weight loss and told me I should stop starving myself to look like every other model I see on the internet and told me I should take the pills to fake my period. By that time I had watched like 100 videos about hypothalamic amenorrhea and knew that that was just a stupid way of tricking your body, so I declined.
    The ed continued until I was SO stressed about not being able to have kids that I literally could not think about anything else. That's when I decided to SLOWLY gain some weight.
    Then the panini hit in 2020 which was surprisingly helpful during my journey. 1 year later in 2021 there was still no sign of my period coming back which made me hopeless af. By that time I had gained back about 5kg. And was eating kinda normal again. Another year later 2022 I finally got my period back after gaining another 3 kg (which meant I was almost at my starting point again). I cried happy tears.
    The thought of gaining weight was so freaking scary at first. But being skinny, tired and weak all the time is NOT WORTH IT. I had no social life.
    Whatever you are going through, know that u are not alone.

    Thank you so much for this video!! I finally had my first period back this month after 6 months without. I had a question though, since its return, I ended my cycle last week but still notice spotting since then.. I never had this back before I lost it, but I guess my question is were your periods totally normal upon its return? Has spotting or any other abnormal things happened to your period once you got it back?
    Sorry if it's TMI.. thank you in advance!!

    • @KateNoel
      @KateNoel  Před 5 lety +3

      Congrats on getting your period! My periods were not "normal" because my cycles were actually very long... 40 and 38 day cycles. I never had spotting but everyone's bodies are different...to my very basic understanding spotting is caused by too low progesterone to estrogen ratio. Stress and/or thyroid disfunction can cause this. But I have heard of many people with ED have this problem too. Keep recovering! I'd see an OB too ☺️

    However, I've got one question left: Do you know if hypothalamic amenorrhea caused by low weight is caused by the absolute mass of body fat or by the body fat percentage (whereby the healthy values are slightly different from woman to woman, of course)?
