When we were planning our Vietnam itenerary, a boat cruise on Hạ Long Bay, in Quang Ninh province, Northeast Vietnam, known for its azure waters and thousands of towering limestone islands crested with rain forests came much recommended. Which is just what we did. A two hour drive out of Hanoi found us comfortably ensconced on a junk boat, the term referring to a class of shallow hulled vessels, perfectly suited for cruising the placid waters of this UNESCO world heritage site. There are many options for a Halong Bay Boat cruise. We travelled with Pandora Cruises, as booked by our agent, Asia Authentic Travel (www.asiaauthentictravel.com/ ) Prices are around USD 300 to 400 per couple for a one night stay including all meals in a luxury cruise. Lower priced options would be available as well, however do keep in mind that the amenities/ facilities you find on a cruise would vary depending on the price.
You will also find day cruise options, but to soak in the natural beauty of this world heritage site, we would recommend a night stay.

I agree with your sentiment as you admire Halong Bay. I took my wife and 2 teenage children there in July 2022. To see teenagers sit on our cabin's balcony, stare out into the bay and sat there in silence for more than 15 minutes not saying a word. I observed them from inside our 2 cabins and thought I had never seen them so impressed and in awe of something as beautiful and as grande as Halong Bay. We loved not only the scenery but the cruise boat, the super friendly crew, the delicious freshly cooked food, it was a great experience.

There was excitement writ large on the " Boss's " face which was very good see. Notwithstanding the video shoot of Kripal, coupled with the verbal expression . I am already tempted to plan a Vietnam holiday.
Totally agree. The cruise, the bay, the experience is so beautiful plus the food. It just doesn't make sense to make it hectic, wake up early etc. It should be totally relaxing and chilled. Next time I will do a 2 nights stay to relax even longer. Lol.

Please visit Singapore its world famous Foodie City as you might be aware of, as a bonus you can go on a Cruise out of the Singapore Cruise Terminal, nice selection of short cruises are available on big cruise lines for 3-4 days or longer, please check it out. I live to travel all over and started cruising over the last 4 years.
Dont worry Sir, if you take an organized tour anywhere in the world you end up at a unexpected shop, be it Turkey, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala or Colombia, I have had to endure with some hard sales pitches. Cheers

The great thing about a destination like Vietnam is that no matter what the budget, you can enjoy the destination. There's a hotel for every price point, budget to luxury, and food ranges from cheap to relatively inexpensive. So bottom line, whether you spend usd 100 a day or splurge 300 or more, there's plenty one can at both ends of the spectrum.

Vietnamese Condensed milk hot coffee is next level. I had plenty of times from Circle-K stores for just 10k VND (30Rs)

Sir, somehow I feel that you and your wife didn't get to eat fully on the cruise. Am I right ? As a Vietnamese I know for sure that the food portion you received were way too small ! And most of what you had been served are not considered a proper meal of an ordinary Vietnamese. That makes me feel really bad. I hope the view there compensated your experience.
Lunch was spartan, dinner was quite adequate. We missed breakfast and the brunch was light.
