Another really hot day, so I try and get out before it gets hot. Its early in the morning with some mist coming off the water. Couldn’t have asked for better conditions. No wind, not hot yet, just a great morning…… until the bad luck hit. I start by getting a hook stuck in my leg, at least the barb didn't go in. I can cast the whopper plopper a mile with the 12 pound mono I have on my bait caster, well I get a backlash. While fixing it my line breaks. It really just pulled apart, it didn’t snap or anything. I guess it was really old line, ha ha. I get to the end of this canal in a no wake zone and I get stopped by TPWD. I figured they were just doing a routine check but come to find out, the no wake buoys were Keep out buoys….. I guess I guess I should have read them. So if you are fishing by the power plant in lake Bastrop, pay attention to the buoys. The ones by the inlet to the plant say “Keep Out” Thank goodness they were nice enough to get me with a warning and let me go. And to top everything off, I got Skunked!!! Oh well, a bad day on the water is better than a good day at work!

you aren't the only one. I've only been there once but noticed a couple kayakers who didn't realize...always read any buoy you come near...some are wake, some are no entry, some are no boats.

That is the way to be around the TPW. I have many Game Warden friends and we hear the stories. You get back what you put out, meaning you put out an attitude and you will probably get one back! Good video.
What was the warning for? I could not hear. My wife and I are thinking of going in a few weeks. Was it restricted are or what?
There are buoys there marked do not enter, I thought they were no wake. They dont want you to get to close to the power plant.
