As a young conservative that ran for office, I’ve faced pressure from friends, supporters and donors that support other politicians and if speak your mind on social media you get bashed and people threaten to not support you, but in the end I lost anyway because those same people never helped. Its so crazy how toxic american politics has become. Ppl losing frineds and family because of how they vote is insane .
It’s sad, my Dad grew up in the depression and saw it all. Just a simple farmer and man of a few words but when he spoke you listened, before he passed away he told me one thing to remember in life. The fastest way to start a fight between friends and family is to bring up politics or religion during a Holiday Dinner. He was spot on back then, I’m glad he isn’t alive to see how much worse it’s gotten.
