We did have another few tonnes we could have put into the sledge weightbox, but it wouldn’t have made any difference to the quadtrack, no stopping it 😂

A great vid as usual. Was sad when the xerion went but the quadtrac has been a big asset to you allowing you to get on the wet fields and get the seed which is its all about. Its a beast as another you tuber would say
The quad track is an absolute beast. The fire lads were quick to.spot it and react, but then when Rob pulled off from a dead stop. Wow some power in that machine. Great video as always. 90% today just tired been a very busy weekend

Didn’t the Quadtrac do well I liked your bit of fun with the smoke alarms it was great got Tom Beaty really worried he thought you was on fire but to start again from a standing start was brilliant you gotta admit it’s got some poke Good seeing David Kobe’s with Just Smoky have a good run there looked like there was some really good pulling and the weather looked glorious and I was stuck in a hospital bed feeling 70% today and Olly what a fantastic video

Some awesome bits of kit at tractor pulling, Remember the first time i saw it live at Norfolk Show back in late seventies, a Fordson major with a V12 Merlin was the main attraction!

Was off to Thornhill for a special lunch out today, so 130% minimum. Mostly overcast, but only 1 rain shower.
And yet only 8 yellow cars (there and back), and one purple. Oh and a yellow Transit (not AA). As all the yellow was from here to Ballochmyle (about 6 miles) I'm convinced I live in a pocket of lots of yellow cars. I was going through farming country (OK on Sunday) but the only tractors (CASE/IH and John Deere) I saw were in the agricultural machinery sales place a mile this side of Drymen.
At the tractor pull:-

The smell of rain on dry ground is petrichor [ pet ree cor ] and, according to Wikipedia, is "...an oil exuded by certain plants during dry periods, whereupon it is absorbed by clay-based soils". It gets released by the rain, but these oils have been shown to slow seed germination and young plant growth . !!

Can't wait for next year's tractor pull, as last year the Zerion did the pull on tick over, this year the Q/track stopped half way, restarted and completed the coarse no problem. What next??😁

The smell after it rains for the first time in a while is called Petrichor (pronounced pe-truh-kor). It's caused by several things such as geosmin, plant oils, ozone and the water itself. It's more pronounced with a light rain shower as the compounds aerosolize better at lower speeds, where heavy rain just washes them to the ground.
Humans have a very low detection threshold for geosmin, probably an evolutionary thing as we're so reliant on water.
Was surprised yesterday to see the lorries with DEF. Here in Canada, it just seems to be the tractors and trucks - you know the ones that farmers use.???

From the front the smoke grenade looked like an engine fire, was thinking it was an expensive day at the track for you guys. The realised it was smoke grenade and assumed it was some sort of farmers gender reveal! Haha.
