    The Samsung is definitely the "people pleaser" with it's boosted colours and contrast. But I personally always graduate towards a natural capture. The Xperia 1V really does behave like an actual camera. I hope to get one soon.
    Great video!

    Sadly, I find the tele in Sony too shaky for my hands :(

    I HAVE a Sony Xperia 1 V and i would say these results are quite accurate and I am SONY fan! Samsung is DESIGNED for auto shooting, its for people whom lack either the time or talent to take a photo or film in Sony's more maniual modes. Incidently I have seen the S24's so-called manual mode and it is like the equivalent to program auto on a Sony. But let us face it I hope sony NEVER goes along the likes of the likes of Samsung fans wishes. Sony goes a whole new route than Samsung and I am glad of it.
    Though strictly speakingh its not a fair comparision as the 24 is this year's phone whilst the Sony's is LAST generation tech-though Samsung KEEPS literally BEGGING for the XMOR T sensor but sony flatly refuses to sell them it!
    The only REAL issues I find the Xperia 1 V ARE:
    They got rid of the led nofitication light, was in my opinion was a poor business decision.
    Telephoto lens is FAR too soft.
    Screen not bright enough.
    THE MAIN sensor though: Anyone who says the main sensor on the 1v is rubbish is either a lowly Samsung fan/troll or does not know what they are doing as that sensor is FANTASTIC!

      thank you Chris for your comments. I will never switch to Samsung. I did this test because one of my friends had an s24 Ultra so I didn't have enough time so I just did quick point and shoot. Thats why I mentioned that this test is not for the professionals. The Xperia 1V is superior and I still have a lot to learn about the Xperia , in the future when I manage to get access to the S24 Ultra again I will do a part 2 test and will use the right settings this time.

    That's a really contrasting comparison.You simply don't use the Xperia in basic mode, that's not what it's made for I have the Xperia Pro i and I only use Basic mode to take a photo of a document.Otherwise, it is simply important to be the master of the exposure yourself.In the video you can see the advantages of the Xperia device despite the overexposure 1. The colors 2. The sharpness (Not oversharpened)3. The focus....

    • @GideonNtxbeni
      @GideonNtxbeni  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Thank you for your comment but you have failed to understand the purpose of this video.
      1. At the beginning of the video "I mentioned that this video is not for professionals, it's a simple test you pick up the phone and take the pictures." I mentioned it twice that this is not for professionals.
      2. I also mentioned that I have the Xperia 1 V and I have been using it since I got it last year in July. I know how to use it. I use Basic mode many times and I have taken good pictures with it.
      I know what the Xperia is capable of but this Test was not to show it's superiority, the test was to show what you get from the camera when you point and shoot. An Average user will not have time to play with the settings , they will just take the pictures , this is why they have made a basic mode for them. For example there have been times I have been on holiday or restaurant I had to ask a stranger to take me a picture, I wouldn't have time to say okay let's not use Basic mode. They will just take a picture.

      @@GideonNtxbeni Then I'm sorry, my English is a bit rusty since school😅I understand that you want to show how both devices work in their respective basic modes.I mean at Samsung everyone only uses the "basic mode" because the Pro mode is nowhere near as extensive and comfortable as Sony's.At Sony, however, hardly anyone uses Basic mode. If anything, I would use the automatic mode on the Sony and at least change the exposure manually.My translation is certainly not optimal either because I use Google Translate 😅

    1V looks like shot with fingerprints on lens but maybe Im wrong. Xperia is very sensitive for dirt on lens. When shoting people or "object" always tap AF (focus) point on screen (with that.. you tell electronics where calculate exposure).

    In point and shoot there is no much difference since samsungs resukt can be done in editing since its just over sharpening and color saturation...but i love the xperia coz it gives you more options in the camera that you can try

    This is not What Xperia mark 5 series Shoots looks like. Lens must be dirty or defective unit. I have Xperia 5V and colors, especially black tones true to eyes than every Samsung and iPhone device. Only Google Pixel Software can Challenge with Sony Xperia Hardware. Nowadays Sony released 208 update. You must update device and retry comparison both Direct Light and opposite. On auto mode and bokeh mode ( with decreasing brightness) on Basic Mode

    • @joelconolly5574
      @joelconolly5574 Před 5 měsíci +2

      Nope. It's just eye AF liking to overexposed images like with MKBHD's videos. I've noticed it in some reviews as well. Xperia photos don't do well with dark skins. Only way to bypass that is to turn off Eye AF. Even then it's only slightly darker.

      1. The Lens was not dirty
      2. It is not a defective unit
      3. It is updated to the latest firmware.
      4. I did a point and shoot Test , i did not adjust anything.
      5. This is why in the beginning of the video I said this video is not for the Professionals.
      This video was made for those who know nothing about photography who just want to pick up a phone and take pictures and in a point and shoot situation this is what the phones produced. If you watch the blind camera tests by MKBHD you will see its the same thing. BUT if I was doing a non point and shoot test , a test of taking time working on the settings etc the Xperia will produce different results.
