Great reviews Avran, much appreciated. I have this twin 🐷 in a 51 and I must say it slays. This is my first volume shift, I was on a Capita DOA 156 for the last 3 years. I like to crush sidehits, eff around on groomers and drop steep spines and tree lines in pow. This board does it all! I do ride switch a lot so the twin fits. @@thereelaccountant9246 I live in the Southern Rockies so we dont really get full on east coast style ice...that being said, the twin pig handles spring time frozen slush banks and firm/manmade snow really well... especially for a freestyle board...the extended heelside edge ( and camber)is great, and if you do a good amount of switch riding this board really shines... long radius or short and quick turns this Ride does it all! @@thereelaccountant9246 157 would work for sure...you actually could use the 154 as well...i thought the 151 would feel short and it does not at all...I could actually be on a 148 no problem! If you want extra stability, like to carve longer radius turns, hit big jumps and want a bit more float in pow go 157...if you want quick turning, side hit launching, more of a party board go 154.

Love your reviews! I've been an avid snowbarder since I was a kid but then couldn't hit the slopes for 7 years or so.
Now I want to get back into it and have been watching a ton of videos on this channel. Regardless, I'm still pretty lost as to which board + bindings I should get that I won't regret (and in which sizes).
Me: I'm 183cm (6'0"?) and weigh 77kg (170?). I'd like to find a good all-rounder, even though I have to say you'll find me more on/off the slopes than in a park or doing huge jumps. I won't buy a second board anytime soon, so I'm looking for something I won't regret in most conditions.
Considering currently the Twinpig, Warpig, Burton Custom Camber, K2 Manifest/ Manifest Team, but it's really hard for me to understand the intricate difference. Would be happy for any advice!

    • @AngrySnowboarder

Any other boards to look at, maybe even the BSOD or Mercury? Or would you go for the Manifest regardles?
Regarding sizing, is a 159 too long for 170lbs size and 9.25 boots? That's all I can find currently for the manifest team, regular manifest is sold out alltogether?

Final question, then I'll stop bothering you: 20/21 BSOD (found one) or 20/21 Manifest Team or 21/22 Manifest Team - what's the biggest differentiator?

Dude, similar situations. I've been riding since 97, had to take a 5 year hiatus. Sold everything. Got back into it and went a lot this past season. Spent my days at Breck and Keystone. Anyway, I went a little over"board", GET IT? hahaha, and bought 6 new setups this season. I am kind of an all or nothing type of guy. LOL Anyway, this TwinPig in a 154 was one of my favorites! You can ride this board like an all mountain board but throw some switch and freestyle into your lines. Because it's a short fatty, it's super stable at high speeds and hold a great edge. I was flying down groomed runs, in and out of trees and moguls and had a blast just using the mountain as my own personal skatepark. Very big thumbs up for me. I paired it with Ride A8 bindings, spectacular! This was my first Ride purchase and was highly impressed.

Hey Avran. You mentioned the Benchwarmer, but haven't posted a full review. Is this a good option for a more all mountain approach to freestyle (rather than straight park features) and buttering about? The product video by Ride seems to suggest it's a stiff ass cambered death machine. That and the fact it's the replacement for the Helix which you absolutely hated. Totally different animal?
    Cheers.

Want one as a twin all mountain board that is decent enough in powder, ride it near normal length rather than size down too far. In your choicest words how dumb am I?

Just had a couple days on my 151, I don't get it. Going up for sale. Maybe it needs some break in time?
Ok snap but meh, surprisngly catchy (I actually detuned in the parking lot...), I don't like how short the heel sidecut is, buttering is super awkward maybe just cause of the length, flops from edge to edge unlike other volume shifts I've ridden, it's ok in pow but the stiffness/rebound hinders it there and there's not enough rocker to really float IMO.
It carves really well and throws up huge sprays. Able to get totally low on it and it held in firm icy groomers, but I didn't like throwing my weight around on it, it had a pretty narrow riding zone, surprise it's tiny.
    The search continues.

I'm 6'1 170 pounds and I ride 151. Riders are riding this board at a shorter length so insteadof going for a 154 or 156w as I usually would I went down about 5cm.

No because the Zero and Benchwarmer exist and they're better.

@@AngrySnowboarder Good, point. I was more thinking along the lines of the volume shifted boards in the line. I'm having a hard time thinking of other volume shifted asym twins. Edit, if you do see this what are your thoughts on the whole volume shift concept? Are these rebranded wides or are they specifically engineered to ride different than just a wide model of a regular deck?

@@AngrySnowboarder alright and what part of the specs would tell me idk how to size that stuff?

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  Před rokem

      1. Look to make sure there's a W next to the size number so ideally a 151W that means it's wide.
      2. Look at the Waist Width spec if it's below a 26 it's not for you with a sie 13.
      3. Look at the tip/tail width spec you ideally want something that's 27.5 or higher but probably a 28 and up.
      4. Take the tip/tail width subtract the waist width divide that number by 2 then add it back to the waist width number and roughly that is the width at the inserts not accounting for sidecut radius.
