- Arlecchino turned out to be a very strong character and brought in a very good revenue from her banner.
But now there is information that Arlecchino will get nerfed in the upcoming version 4.7.
So in this video, I will discuss the nerf Arlecchino will receive, as well as some information about the differences between the gacha system in Genshin Impact and honkai star rail.

I don't think anyone will argue that the hype around Arlecchino was the biggest in a while. She even got her own anime before her release, and as a result, she became a very strong unit in the game.
The source of the info about her nerf comes from HomDGCat.
Please note that this information comes from the 4.7 beta, so it's not confirmed that she will receive this nerf in the next update.
According to this person, Arlecchino 's particle generation cooldown will increase from the current 0.5 seconds to 1.5 seconds.
Honestly, I don't really know how significant this 1-second energy generation cooldown will affect her gameplay, but she will definitely use her burst less than before, and you'll have to pair her with another Pyro character.
We've had post-release changes in the past, like Barbara's healing range and Lisa's C1 energy generation, or the famous Zhongli buff. But this time, it's Arlecchino's turn.
It's unfair to tease players with her release, hype her up, get good revenue from her banner, and then nerf her, even if it's a minor nerf.
All these nerf should happen in the beta and not after character release. There’s a chance that this nerf won't even be officially mentioned in 4.7, so won't be surprised if you don't have enough energy for Arlecchino 's burst.
On top of that, recently a Chinese content creator by the nickname OneBST made 15 million pulls on honkai star rail banner.
As you all know, Mihoyo says that we have a 50% chance to get a limited 5-star character, but according to OneBST, it's different.
The gacha system in Honkai is 56.4/43.6. In other words, you have a 56.4% chance to get a limited 5-star character, while your losing chance is 43.6%.
While in Genshin Impact, you will get exactly 50% chance of winning.
According to OneBST's theory, when you lose the 50/50 in honkai, for a moment, the limited character goes to the standard characters list, and then you have a 1/8 chance to get the limited one, even though you lost your 50/50. That's where the 56.4% comes from.
Unfortunately, this person didn’t mention anything about Genshin’s 50/50. But what’s interesting is that both Genshin and Honkai have 7 standard characters. So there is a possibility that the same system works in Genshin, but knowing how Genshin treat their players, I doubt that.

Yall, this isn’t a nerf. Arle’s skill and burst animations take so long that you’ll still get the exact same amount of particles. They’re most likely only changing it because of a glitch in the new spiral abyss or with her kit
I think this isn't a nerf. It's really a glitch because I used my Arlecchino once in Abbys, and since I don't run her with healing characters, I need to spam her Ultimate, but over 8 times now, I died in the Ultimate after I used her Ultimate to recover her HP.

About HSR gacha system, they also separate 2 limited Light Cone banner unlike in genshin which combines the 2 limited weapon in 1 banner and also have this stupid 2/2 path system. Why not just make each of the limited weapon have their own respective banner? Seriously, this has been suggested for years.

it might not be false news but it likely won't be a nerf in practice. the fastest you can possibly get elemental particles as Arlecchino is E->Q->E which takes more than 1.5 seconds meaning that this nerf won't affect it. it's probably just something they're doing to prevent exploits or fix a bug

Vast amount of players pulled her to E2 due to simpage anyways, you'll barely notice a thing. I thought it was going to be a multiplier/CD/ICD issue, that woulda been juicy. You're absolutely right to believe this effectively changes nothing. If anything this is just to future proof Natlan units so that running double Pyro is more comfy when a boat-load of pyro drops in that region.

note that for the numbers of characters per element I've not counted the Traveller
of the 11 Anemo characters only 3 are from Mondstadt. 3 are also from Inazuma (4 if you count Wanderer)
of the 9 Geo characters 3 are from Liyue. 3 are also from Inazuma.
of the 13 Electro characters (I'm including the 2 that have been revealed for the next update) only 4 are from Inazuma
Dendro is admittedly an exception but to be fair they were only released alongside Sumeru and Hoyoverse kinda rushed to get a bunch out at once. of the 8 Dendro characters 5 are from Sumeru.
of the 12 (including the 1 that has been revealed for the next update) Hydro characters only 3 (including the 1 that has been revealed for the next update) are from Fontaine (notably Hydro has the best balance for each region so far. 2 from Mondstadt, 2 from Liyue, 2 from Inazuma, 2 from Sumeru, and 1 from Sneznaya)
of the 15 Pyro characters we've gotten so far 4 are from Mondstadt (5 if you count Thoma) and 5 are from Liyue. chances are that Natlan won't be hitting those numbers for quite a while.
so in general most regions only have 3 characters of their main element. their archon, the defacto leader of the nation (I think Inazuma has 4 Electro because while this role mostly fits Yae Miko it fit more for Kujo Sara for the purposes of the Archon Quest), and 1 other
this will probably be the same for Natlan. we'll get Murata, whoever is the main person actually running Natlan, and 1 other (I think Iansan). 3 characters would be very significant to an element with only 8 or 9 (Dendro and Geo) but it's less significant to an element that already has 15. it'll be the same case with Sneznaya.

Irrelevant nerf, I reckon this had something to do with preventing some glitch or balancing related for the new end game content. Besides, it will barely affect her DPS especially when the optimal rotation is normal attacks and burst as a finisher, you're not supposed to spam it every CD.
Whether or not the nerf is big or small, it really shouldn't be after her full release.

@@eshamyline I don't have a C6 arlecchino and if one has it now chances are their arle is already cracked that can clear any boss in less than 15s anyway, making this nerf irrelevant. Also, C6 doesn't change her rotation that much, it simply gives you the option to use it as an opener (pre-charged Burst) instead of a finisher. And by the time it's up again the boss is most likely dead, if you were not optimal then it would be at least less than 20% HP, so again the nerf is genuinely irrelevant.

I was scared at first thought they decreasing the damage but ngl I don't really use her Ult that much and it's a net negative for damage and she's always with Bennett for max damage or another pyro. I'm getting too much energy in my case.

This is not an actual nerf. There is no way to use her skill 2 times within 1.5 seconds because her ult takes longer than that. This was likely put in place to prevent one skill cast from generating double particles which I've never seen happen.
I also never seen it happening but she travels really far with her E skill and if enemies are far apart and are in perfect position and arlecchino is affected by cryo maybe it could happen as characters affected by cryo have slower animations.
When she's in her special stance, she also generates particles on hits. That's the nerf.
The playerbase dont know how to play the game, its really hard to explain to them.

About the 50/50. I've lost 2 50/50s in Honkai and won 0. I've won 5 50/50s in Genshina and lost 1.
I lost 4 50/50s in genshin and only won 2 (hu Tao and Lyney) and in Honkai I just started playing but I’ve won both my 50/50s so far (Sparkle and Aventurine) my luck is like the Opposite of yours 😭

This is the biggest lie I've heard in a while. In the history of ALL of Genshin, after a charactet is released they've never once nerfed someone's kit. Now fixing a Bug that makes them better isn't unheard of but actually dropping her stats, cd, or anything of the sort will never happen.

unless you have her C6 her burst is overall bad for damage actually (if you do have C6 then her burst's damage is simply insane...). it wipes out her bond of life and basically forces the end of that rotation. its primary purpose is to heal her (which you shouldn't need to do if you're playing well).
this nerf means that her elemental skill can only produce elemental particles once every 1.5 seconds. previously it was 0.5 seconds. the fastest you can possibly recast her skill is E->Q->E which takes more than 1.5 seconds. therefore this "nerf" shouldn't affect her actual gameplay and is probably more of an attempt to fix some kind of bug or exploit.

Arcchilino doesn't use her burst for damage but only for healing so it probably won't affect her that much
Well I got the last 5 star acheron on 80 pulls then her signature light cone at 31 it was my first limited 5 star weapon and i was at 24 just building pity then with their generosity we got the anniversary reward 10 pulls I got another limited 5 star named jingliu at 34 it's pretty obvious that we do get a 5 star in HSR pretty quickly
im trailblaze rank 61 in star rail, and ive never ever lost a 50/50 so it is possible that this could be it and i always loose the 50/50 on genshin impact.

They did advertise them to be strong, and they are strong, and will keep being strong. That is because this "Nerf" literally doesn't change anything about her gameplay. Arlecchino will still do so much damage, nothing will change about that. That is how insignificant this "nerf" is. She will just have to wait 2-3 seconds more to get her burst.

Her burst is proven to be a damage loss, it is only for healing. And most people run her with Xiangling/Bennett/Kazuha/Zhongli anyway, energy won't be a problem.

You literally cannot use your skill twice within 1.5 seconds. EQE will still generate 2 sets of particles due to the burst animation, and there’s no sacrificial spear or other way to reset her cooldown quickly

A 1 second increase to her energy generation cooldown? How is that a nerf to note about? She can't even spam her skill. Plus you only want to use her burst to heal or you have her at C6. Yea it's technically a nerf, but I am so confused about what is bad about it
Perhaps they want people to buy her constellations... For me, the principle is important. If we are agreeable to this, wouldn't that be encouraging mihoyo to either release weaker characters, put all the good traits behind a constellation paywall, or nerf other things as they see fit?
@@kennithbob The thing is Hoyoverse has already released weaker characters that were hyped to be super strong. Dehya is literally the prime example. Wriothesley and Chiori are example of great quality of life being put behind their C1. Don't people realize already, the principle is already long gone.
Also still think about it. What are the ways that Arle can generate energy for herself. Her nonspammable skill and the universe normal attack energy generation (The one that starts with 4% chance to happen every normal attack and only generates 1 energy no matter how high your energy recharge is). This isn't really a nerf. I am agreeance with the person in this general comment section that this might be a lazy fix to a bug that the devs noticed or were told about.

I do see a difference between hsr gacha and genshin, like in genshin the biggest 50/50 winning streak for me is 3 but in hsr it is 8...... maybe it is just that in Hsr i have a lot more luck!

"Barbara's healing range"??? that was barely anything compared to the other nerf.
There was a "bug fix" around time Nilou came.
At first, Barbara's skill would apply hydro at time intervals *AND EACH TIME something new came in skill damage range* (including dendro cores // on 2nd effect's instance: damage applied only to new entities, hydro applied to everything in range), so she could solo carry all the hydro need of a team even in a team of 3 dendros and was the best hydro applicator.
"bug fix" made it so that her hydro only applies at intervals.
I feel like that one fits as both a bug fix and a nerf.
on the one hand that didn't seem intended at all, they definitely made Barbara long before they had any idea how Dendro was actually going to work and as a result Dendro ended up interacting with Barbara in a way that it clearly shouldn't have.
on the other hand, the timing of it certainly felt like they were maliciously nerfing an existing character just before releasing a new character to fill basically the exact same role that they were taking away from Barbara.

Umm..... This not the first time for them to nerf a character. There were a few 4 star character got nerf. Like Barbara make alot of dendro core or Mika have low stamia charge attack.
I even hear some user claims 5 star limit character get nerf too with no warning.

Fellow Genshin players, you are ALLOWED to be upset if Mihoyo decides to pull a bait and switch! If we don't say anything or complain, we perpetuate this problem! Change doesn't happen when people stay quiet.
Regardless of the size of nerf, it really shouldn't be after her full release. Adding a buff is adding onto something someone's paid for but nerfing is taking away from something someone already paid for. Imagine a dealership sells you a car that can hold X amount of gas but suddenly they decide to remove that tank and replace it with a smaller one. It's just not acceptable. The fact that somewhere else does shady practices like this does not and should not be an argument that encourages or validates this practice.
Only way to get them to listen is not pay Welkin, and play better gacha games.
Your logic is flawed, because a nerf would affect her gameplay. That is why you guys should learn the basics of the game, or you will end saying "oh bennett is not good for arle".
You should also know what is actually going on instead of blindly jumping on hate trains.

As a Hsr and Genshin Player, I noticed that I have lost only a single 50/50 so far (which I am happy about), while in Genshin I lost quite a few of them. In other words, My hsr luck is cracked and my genshin luck just isn't when I pull for characters I want. But I did notice that I got more earlies in Genshin than hsr, so I guess it kinda evens out for me.
Nerfing a new character but leaves the old characters with no buffs to balance them.

Never won a 5050 in Genshin but managed to win 5050 several times in a row in honkai, plus honkai made me lose a 5050 super early so I was easily able to get the character

just a reminder that a character in genshin has never been nerfed after the final product has been released. maybe nerfed or buffed in beta, but never nerfed or buffed after their release. 💀
for me it doesn't matter skipping her burst = more damage sometimes i dont use it at all bcoz it removes the bond of life. When my bond of life goes low into 30℅ i jist cast thr skill again and get more bond of life.

In Honkai you have a 75/25 chance to get the limited 5 star (charakter or weapon), not 50/50.
This is a likely bug fix and does not affect her in any way, her burst takes 2.4 ish seconds to cast, so ain’t no way you’re going to be casting skill twice in 1.5 seconds, the channel clearly did no research and is just fear mongering to gain views

Speaking of 50/50 wins, I recently won all 4 of my 50/50’s for arlecchino, and pulled two out of the four copies in the same wish back to back.
They will never nerf a limited 5* character directly. Violates laws in several countries in which they operate and there could be a major lawsuit over it, as some countries require a full refund on digital products that fall under false advertising (which changing something to make it worse after purchase would qualify as), and idk how MiHoYo would plan on refunding millions of dollars in primogems.

It's rare in China to nerf a gacha character after they've been released because you're reducing their effectiveness after taking the player's money. It might be seen as a bait and switch which attracts the attention of consumer protection committees. You can improve a character, but knowingly making them worse is less common. There was the time they changed Yae Miko so the targeting of her totems was "better", but it effectively devalued the expanded radius of the totems provided by her constellation 2 since the totems now focused on the enemies nearest the character. They quickly changed that back.
