Loved this episode guys❤I actually listened to Xscape in the car a few weeks ago, admittedly only for a couple of days 😂
As with 95% of estate music releases I always felt they totally messed it up😢 I feel like done properly they would have had some top 20 hits, "a place with no name" being released on Twitter was madness, just do what they did with the first single and use Facebook where he had more than double the people following "his" account.

I’m glad you mentioned the fact She Was Lovin Me was changed to Chicago because I’ve always hated the fact they changed titles especially to a word he says once (like you said) it’s like if Billie Jean was changed to Beauty Queen for whatever reason

    • @TheBigMJDebate
      @TheBigMJDebate  Před měsícem +3

Can you imagine if it was called 'Beauty Queen'?!!! I doubt it would have been as successful! Haha! Listening to Chicago 1945, he literally sings the word Chicago around 20 times, that's why calling She Was Lovin Me 'Chicago' has truly muddied the waters.

@@TheBigMJDebate I’ve also heard they didn’t want to call it She Was Lovin Me because of Love Never Felt So Good and Loving You but in that case call it She Lied To Me or something like that since he says it multiple times and it’s a memorable part of the song. They could’ve named it anything but Chicago. Also I’ve just remembered there was a reaction channel who was recommended to listen to Chicago but when they searched for it Chicago 1945 came up too so they were confused which one to do and ended up reacting to both

i LOVE this video .. not many out there talking about Michael’s music or lyrics .. most reaction channels don’t go into the details! Would LOVE it if someone would do deep dive into this subject. the book ALL THE SONGS is awesome but i would love to also get fan discussion on these subjects & discuss why he wrote the lyrics or how the music came to him (besides it’s from God😂}. are there any channels that u can recommend that do this? ie: there’s a Prince channel called PRINCE REWIND .. wish someone would do this for Michael’s music!! THX for this discussion .. really enjoyed it!❤❤

Thanks for this very entertaining video. I tend to agree with Paz on most tracks , I dont want anything hindering Michae’ls vocals .

I love xscape and still listen to it today which is why I wished the estate would release a gold covered 2lp record with all the songs from the deluxe version and a special edition coloured vinyl pressing maybe gold to match the cover. Something simple for 10 anniversary.

Definitely would love to see this. They could help us complete the collection with vinyls for Number Ones, Essential, King of Pop, Immortal, Michael (7 Track) and Xscape Deluxe.

When it comes to album covers there was always a real back story to how Michael and his creators came up with the concepts.
An inspiration of a piece of art (Dangerous) or something he wanted to portray (HIStory).
These were then brought to life often by real sculptors / artists before hitting the album cover. Not an overnight appoint someone and get the job done.
What you feel (even possibly in Invincible) is a missing Michael.

I remember hearing how there was "another Thriller" in the vaults, and I think the Michael and Xscape albums totally disprove that. Save for a handful of tracks, the demos definitely feel like demos that probably would have faced a whole lot of reformations before ever being released, if at all. I can't remember the last time I played Xscape but it is definitely an uneven experience, chopping and changing between eras. The best tracks for me are Xscape (original), Place with No name (both), Lovin you (both), and I dont mind Chicago but outside of that I don't have much time for it. What exactly is a Blue Gangsta anyway? It's a song about nothing, and that's a pervasive issue with a lot of his later work.
And then for the Michael album I thought Behind the Mask was brilliant and yet was slept on by fans. I think Xscape's album cover is probably one of the best features of the campaign and I am a big fan of that. But beyond that, Xscape sounds like what it is, a rag tag collection of offcuts given a quick spruce that at their best remind you of his best work but at their worst, remind you why they were never released.

    Great video guys!
Surprised by some of your opinions
I loooove do you know where your children are but the original leaked version is best!
I’d definitely vote xscape over love never felt so good! And I’m not a fan of blue ganster at all
The original of place with no name might be my fave track on the album maybe as it is more similar to my general music taste!
    Also isn’t the “hologram” e’casssnova?

My list of Remix vs. Original
Love Never Felt So Good: Remix (Hate the JT Ver.)
    Chicago: Remix
    Loving You: Original
A Place With No Name: Remix (it's refreshing from the cover)
Slave to the Rhythm: Remix (I love the strings throughout)
    DYNWYCA: Original (Dislike the remix)
Blue Gangster: Original (the bridge and strings from the remix is soo good but the theme from the original is better)
    Xscape: Original
In conclusion: Invincible Demos are the best 🙌

Xscape was a great piece of work and should have been the posthumous album. Having Timbaland as a producer was a great move because I feel it's very much MJ's style. Love the album. I did enjoy the hologram performance too, if was emotional at the time but I do agree how it was used in MJ One was much more fitting. Favourites off the album for me are Loving You, A Place With No Name (MJ One music video is far superior to the estate one) and Hollywood Tonight 😁 fab vlog guys ❤

I disagree with Timbaland. No offense to him but his work on the album with no input from MJ feels too overproduced.

@@mechajay3358 that's OK, it's only from me I like timbaland so was happy to see him feature. In my opinion it felt more like in an MJ sound than 'Michael' and I was happy to hear it 😁

I'm not a huge fan of the Xsacpe album cover, I feel they could've done a much better drop with it.
But it is an improvement over the Michael album that felt it was trying to be too hard like the iconic Dangerous cover.

why you all hating on people believing he is alive while it is in the realm of possibility

    • @TheBigMJDebate
      @TheBigMJDebate  Před měsícem +2

If anybody believes Michael Jackson faked his own death, staying hidden while his children struggled, his father died, his life's work has been sold and people accusing him of the most heinous crimes, then I'm not sure what realm that is, but it's not a normal one. It's unfortunate that Michael was forced to meet so many expectations while he was alive, and still, 15 years later some choose to place further expectations on him - to live, when he isn't.
