The mnk vs controller debate isn't about which is better, never has been. Mnk has a lot of advantages, and so does controller. The debate stems from the fact that people dislike unearned advantages, it's why we collectively like underdog stories. The problem with the controller is that it does give you some advantages for free, no real skill needed. People who play configs on controller and hit every single mantle jump, super glide or superjump do so undeservingly, adding on an aimassist and it feels like cheating. Im waaay better on mnk, but all the movement and aim comes from practice, however, when I play on a controller I win fights I know I don't deserve to win. And that's why I personally play more mnk, I know that's all me.
I don't dislike normal controller players, i think it's pretty cool to have one on each team as an expert of sorts, but configs is where I draw the line.

@@zHawkC idk if you know verhulst that well but this guy managed to 1v3 pro stack teams before in the past multiple times.. He's indeed one of the best (if not) the best controller players in the world right now in terms of skills and overall achievements.. Don't get me wrong, kandy and boom are indeed great players and they are still above average but they are only content creators and not on pros levels and this is coming from a guy who watch kandy for 3 years now.. If verhulst can 1v3 pro stack team before, then 1v2 against above average players is definitely not a challenge at all for him.. Sure he will lose 2 to 3 rounds but 90% of their fights, he will beat them easily..
@@tzuzu5240 Yeah I know Evan, I watch (and have attended) ALGS. He's the best roller player in the world in a straight fight imo. But I respectfully disagree.
Most of those 1 v 3s are off drop when his teammates have already done damage and they involve high ground, doors or knockdown shield plays. He's not fighting 3 at exactly the same time with no help.
To straight 1 v 2 in a tiny arena is incredibly hard, even for him if the 2 players work together and don't let Evan have two 1v1s.
Which is why fighting in the house would be really beneficial for him over the arena, his movement, doorplay, peek damage etc would get to shine.
No shield swaps/nades/weapon imbalances in this scenario remember.
I don't doubt he'd wipe the floor with kandy and boom in a BR scenario, he would. But in a tiny arena they can both ape him at the same time and only have to do 100 dmg each while he has nowhere to go, it's not realistic to think he's still winning 90% of those fights. He often had his shield cracked in these 1v1s and that's without a second person shooting at exactly the same time and having to do 225 more damage.
@zHawkC you said that he will struggle if he fights in tiny areas or if they fight together and won't allow him to 1v1 but the funny thing is recently, he already experienced this in control.. you can check it out by yourself based on my previous comment, giving you the link.. and if you watched the video, you can clearly see that multiple times he got rushed by multiple peoples and sometimes two people right next to each other try to swing on him and he can still beam them and survived.. I don't think you understand how insane his 1v3 scenarios are cuz 1v3 a full stack pros (doesn't matter if they are slightly weaker) is way harder than 1v2 content creators whose skills are slightly about average..

I really hate this whole controversy between mnk and controller. Back when mnk are the only good input, you never see these people complaining how unfair it is for controller. Only “get good”, or “switch to the superior input,” but when controller is better, all of the sudden it’s unfair and things need to be changed for what they want 😂 what happened to “just deal with it”?

@@Caleb-jb3gv regardless, it is an input with advantages. To the core of it, this is just a double standard. When mnk was the only input with advantages, the same considering wasn’t made for controller players. But now, all of the sudden, the game needs to change for a subset of players.
@@MeMe-tw4xb So I don't want to come off as argumentative, but I don't think you've really thought this through. The reason people complain about aim assist isn't because of the advantages or disadvantages of an input. The inherent advantages of an input would be something like Roller can always move their reticle without having to reset like a mouse does, while on MnK you're able to move your crosshair relative to your mouse rather than in just a direction. Things like that are something that I think there can be great discussion about where people can come together. The problem is that the "balancing" that the game does, gives the input that is admittedly more difficult to be precise on assistance that is not human generated. It is not possible to have a genuinely competitive environment with artificial assistance. The reality is that in order to have a competitive environment all input has to be raw. If you can find a way of balancing inputs without messing with that, then that would be the optimal solution, but violating the integrity of competitiveness can't be the solution. To address your last point, the game shouldn't all of the sudden change for a "subset of players". It needs to change because competitive integrity has been being violated and enough attention has been called to it to make enough people upset. Controller isn't winning those 90% of fights, aim assist is.

My biggest problem with this is that it doesn’t address the inherent differences between the 2 inputs, simply taking things away from 1 subset of people in order to appease another without any plans or thoughts of making it actually fair. Rollers can move their reticle without having to reset is the only thing that it can do, and that’s not even useful. You’re failing to mention the fact that MnK can be much more precise on getting one dot on the screen to be at a certain location, that it’s a lot easier to control recoil for guns, that you can have many different bindings without having to reuse the same buttons for things, that there are unfair non-human inputs like mouse scroll wheel to assist in many different movement techs (some of which are actually impossible to do on controller), and the fact that you can instantly shield swaps while moving mad in a death box. Plus, that little “move your crosshair relative to your mouse” thing you mentioned is 10x more useful than moving reticle without reset. None of these issues are brought up for unfairness even though it is actually unfair. Saying that the goal is to be fair is actually hypocritical because nobody cares when the shoe is on the other foot.
I agree with your argument that maybe it is not good for competitive, then just make it a rule for the comps game. Most people do not play like pros, and what people are asking is basically just take 1 input away completely. Because as of right now, all people want to do is to take things away to benefit themselves, not actually leveling the playing field.
I don't trust this community to know when to stop. Have you not seen the way everything is handled in this game? Usually people just bitxh about things they cant deal with, then even after it gets nerfed, they'll still bitxh about it because a narrative has been formed and these people cannot take responsibility for anything.
Would you like if I propose we take away/nerf ALL of the MnK advantages I mentioned above? A game where you're constantly trying to take away things in order to "balance" is a game bound to become 1-dimensional and boring. Noone ever has raised the idea to add things instead of taking things away. So why is it that only one subset of people ALWAYS has to get the short end of the stick?
Because there was no crossplay and mixed input catering for multiplayer games back then. If controller players weren't forced into PC lobbies no one would be complaining even today lol they could aimbot each other in their console/controller lobbies all day long for all I care.
