I look at it another way. Jim and Charlie still have the right to make a living, they have surrounded themselves with top class musicians and the live shows they put on today are as good if not better than in the early years. As a life long fan I appreciate the opportunity to go out and relive my youth by watching and experiencing them live as well as introducing my sons to the music I have grown up with. If we applied the logic that it’s cheating when original members leave and they should give it up, there would be no SM, No Depeche Mode, No Big Country, no INXS, no Stranglers, No Blancmange and no thrill of live music for me to enjoy today because I would much sooner watch these guys and continue to support them than most of the rubbish being peddled today as this is the music I love. I even went to see Mr Rotten with PIL a few months ago despite him being the only original member. Equally, favourite football teams don’t stop being your favourite team when your favourite player or players move on. Let the guys earn a living and do what they love doing for as long as they are able and those of us that want to support that will and those that don’t won’t and that’s up to us as individuals 😀❤️
