- Cheap metal vents can be very loud and obnoxious in the wind. We had a satisfied customer submit this video to us to prove a point. The vent in the video is a magnetic wind defender vent (galvanized)

Holding the new one up beside old one doesn't prove it's better because it's not vented, it is the depressurization that makes it flap using air from inside your house, i hope it works out for you
Maybe not valid, but I can attest to the quality of these and the fact they have enough retention that they do not flutter.
Damn this made me laugh! I'm so glad mine is not this bad 😂
This is not a valid test. The reason the new one isn't flapping is because the air pressure on both sides of the flap are the same. Your old one is connecting a high and low pressure environment which causes the flap to open/shut. Again, not a valid test of the new vent but I do hope it worked out for you in the end!
You are absolutely right. This test is complete bust !!!!
can the same type of vent be used for car exhaust?
It's called The Poltergeist House!
Jeff, what is the solution?
This is an easy fix, he didn’t have to replace the vent. Simply find out whether it was fully opening when necessary and if not, he would adjust the flexible parts. To avid the noise he could just install a new gasket on the flapper’s parameter and problem solve. Probably one minute or less on that ladder.
There is a magnet trick on Fine Hombuilding I found. Trick is to getting the magnet in there..I'll have to go through the screen.
Can you send a link
Where is the install video?
I have the luxury metals vent and it does the same thing in high wind.
I also bought and installed the same one Dave is Holden up 2 months ago at most. At first I was pumped up, until today when I guess the conditions where and are currently right. The flap is right now flapping away. The slight popping and banging noise is driving me to drink on a Friday afternoon. I guess an Email to Dave the owner of Luxury Metals is due I suppose,we have to see how he responds to such problem. Can’t say 100% that I’m a satisfied customer tht I once was. I initially thought this product was awesome. If only I could have seen this video, read all comments on this thread before purchasing it. The guy at the top of comments is the owner of this small company. He seems very helpful in all othe Emails so I plan on giving him a chance to explain. Who knows it could be me or the houses pressurization making this happen. Leading to a conclusion of not the product that failed but the installer/ME tht installed it wrong.
@@reddye2331it’s fine. It’s just a common thing in all vents that’s hard to solve. They all make a flap sound in the wind. Best bet is to add a bumper on the bottom to soften the impact of the little flap slamming.
I held one up next to mine and it still made the noise. It didn't fix mine either?
😂😂😂
Kitchen vent replacement with New kitchen vent
Damn I just installed the one you have...smh
Lol and i thought mine was annoying!
I honestly wish I didn't have one it's driving me insane!!!
WHY SO MANY DISLIKES
It does not work as promised and the test is not realistic.
@@InCountry6970 ohhh THATS why
