This might sound rificulous but i put these videos on most days i work. Brings a lot of peace and makes me really miss Glacier. Cant wait to spend this whole next summer entrenched in the park. Last year was my first time. Did Iceberg with a buddy. Then did Grinnell and fell in love. I really cant imagine that there is anywhere else in the world as lovely.
Great video, Steve! What a beautiful park! It is the most detailed video on visiting Glacier National Park that I've ever seen. Glad you included information about the ticketed entry lottery, definitely a need to know item.

In fact the I showed the interior of that room too. I stayed in the Rising Sun Cabins and another building lower down more.
Really enjoyed this! The video ended so fast. I wanted to clarify that I didn't dip in the upper Grinnell Lake. It was the lake below. Our kids couldn't do the hike up to the Glaicer.

Wow it's just to much, all the people, we were there in September 2006, & it wasn't terrible, even found a nice place to camp, (truck/camper, but man I would never go now. Hopefully that beautiful clear/turquoise water, stays that way. Saw & actually picked up a lot of cigarette butts, those stupid people should just stay home, But love learning about the geology of areas, thanks for sharing, it is one of the most beautiful places on earth!
Glacier is beautiful, having visited there many times since the 1960s. The last time I was there was in 2021. There definitely are moves to restrict entrance to, and activities in, “our” national parks in both the US and Canada. So much so that I believe they no longer are our parks, but the government’s. Sad to see this going this way, but it’s only because I know what it was like “before.” 😢
Hello! I was wondering if you knew anything about the possibility of the road being fully open by the last week of June? As well, do you think grinnell glacier is going to be closed? I recently found out the hike usually opens late July :( Thanks for the help and great video!
They got near record low snow fall this year. The plows have already cleared the west side to Logan Pass. My guess the td will be fully open by then. Check the parks trail status page for grinnel glac info. 3 weeks ago i got a text stating it was closed 2.5 miles from the trailhead due to snow. They say it’s melting faster than normal though.
Hi there, great video! very detailed guide and amazing footage of the NP. I have a question - based on your experience, is Grinnell Glacier Lake Trail accessible in late May (26 / 27 May) this year?
Too hard to tell. But since its a flat trail and this year there has been much less snow it likely will be but the temp bridges- as seen in the video- may not be installed yet. Who knows how high the water will be- but you're likely to need waterproof boots- and they may not be high enough to keep you dry. Here's what the park says about hiking in May. May 1 - June 30 Early Season Trails are often muddy and covered in puddles or flowing water at lower elevations. Water crossings are deep, swift, and cold. Seasonal suspension and plank bridges start to be installed in late May. Snow conditions can change daily: icy in the morning, soft in the afternoon.
The park is always open. The sun Road will not be fully opened until the snow is cleared. Last year that was after the 4th of July. they have less snow this year. You should watch this video because there are other issues with getting into the park. This $225 fee is a complete joke, it’s actually a disgusting over reach and they should be ashamed. So if you go with your family and want to share it with extended family you maybe fined. Family place my ass

you're right- some people shouldn't go to the parks. I wish I knew of a good way to say that in my videos
