coming from germany i visited Bude in 1965 with my Au Pair family and liked it there very much . and especially the beach with the little ponds . it was great for the children to play in .
Bude is magical....the old stuff is still there...and it's got some good new stuff too.. My first visit was on a train..my last visit was with a caravan..
We now live in Bude and I used to play at the Headland Club with different groups in the l970's. The main one that people would remember was Flying Fortress (Nigel, Mike, Mick and myself). Have now retired from the music business and its good to watch this video when I don't feel like a walk around good old Bude, it saves my legs!. From ex pro drummer Keith Jones Bude Cornwall. Memories of the Headland Club,Dave Curry,Phil Bate,and a load of other lads and girls from back then. The Plymouth boys coming up for their weekly fight,times all gone now. People here who want nothing more than to be able to settle down for retirement, and let the town gradually die away into obscurity.
Interesting video.Good to see rowing boats on the canal.I used to help Bruce Sampson forty years ago,and still assist Mathew Sampson,his grandson to this day. Pity about all the traffic though. The town is utterly saturated with cars in summer. I understand the Globe Hotel is closing down next March. Very few hotels here now.

I love Bude. After Carcraft West Midlands it's the biggest place in the UK to browse stationary cars.
Just came back from holiday. Bude is great.
