Amazing list!!! Mistborn is one of my favorite series of all time and all 10 of your picks were either read or on my TBR as top book series! I would recommend throne of glass if you haven’t read it based off your list, love the content man
Thank you so much! I appreciate it! My girlfriend is currently working her way through throne of glass and loving it. I might give the series a shot after she finishes it
Big Recs I have for Urban Fantasy fans are The Dresden Files and The Mercy Thompson Series
I'm a huge dresden fan! I've been working on a long dresden files video for awhile now.
Nice picks one and all! The third books are typically the juicy parts though 😁
That is definitely the case with this series 🤣 I loved the greenbones saga and fonda Lee is definitely towards my top authors now
I discovered your channel through this video. I'm hoping to read "Mistborn" and "The Poppy War" soon. Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
So glad to hear it! I love mistborn and hope you enjoy it!
Been working on some classics and Stephen King. I'm about to dip my toe into fantasy and i'm super stoked for it. I think i'm going to start with Mistborn
You couldn't pick a better place to start! I've been dipping my toes into some Stephen King lol. Just finished the long walk
Hi, great recommendations. I also didn't like The Eye of The World. 😊
Thank you! Finally someone agrees with me!
Nice list. I may check a few out. I don't know if it's because a lot of Fantasy readers are young(I'm 66) or that they just do not prefer this series, But have you ever read "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant" by Stephen R. Donaldson? I know that there are three Chronicles written? The 1st Chronicles and then of course the 2nd Chronicles. Ive read and own 1st and 2nd Chronicles and I have book one of the 3rd or last Chronicles? If you haven't heard of them check them out. If you have heard of them I'm curious of your thoughts? Thank you -James
Glad to hear it was helpful! I've never heard of that series honestly. But I'll definitely give it a look. I don't really have a preference as far as newer or older fantasy so it might be right up my alley
There are 3 books in Chronicles 1 and 3 books in Chronicles 2. Total of 6 books. I owned and read them in the 1980s. I let them get away from me. The last time that I checked they were out of print. But eBay has some decent copies at a Fair price. I found bot Chronicles complete at a thrift store last year. -James
I was able to find some in print with a newer cover! I'll definitely check them out!
@@libraryoflores I'll second @Littlebiglibrary on Thomas Covenant being worth checking out at some point. Fair warning, it has some content that's going to be very off-putting to modern readers, but as a whole they work well - unlike the other more common form of anti-hero we tend to see in fantasy, the anti-hero at the helm of that series is very much a scumbag with little to redeem him. It still somehow works.
I mean we see that in grim dark in modern fantasy. But I know what you mean kind of. When looking up the book I definitely saw some discourse around some things that happened in the series. I personally am not bothered by that stuff as long as there's a point to it and it makes sense in the story
