    I use conformal coating on all my electronics as Big B mentions, but trust me, CorrosionX is all over the electronics in my boats as well. It's good stuff....... 👍👍

    Absolutely agree with the Corrosion X treatment Big B. I have a can sitting on my workbench and wouldn't be without it.
    Some folks say it's expensive... and they're right! It's not the cheapest, but a little goes a LONG way. And consider the cost of replacing a receiver, servo, ESC or motor! It's a no-brainer! Whenever I've had a wipe out and everything in the boat is wet, I don't worry... everything has had the CX treatment 😉

    This was an amazing demonstration!! How cool, after seeing this yes I jumped on line to grab some..so a 16 oz can in Australia (90101) costs $50US!! But to save all your expensive electronics..think its a worth while investments..and big can should last. A good while!!👍🏻

    Super great on the motor bearings Thanks for the tip.
    I’m now going to get some more.
    I have been having to put ceramic hybrid bearings in up till seeing this video, I have I’ll give it a try.
    I am always in salt water had no luck with it on the receivers though.
    Only spektrum mrx200 full waterproof last for me.
    The pins corrode away still after about a year.

    I work in electronics. Corex is decent stuff. But if I want a stupid cheap conformal costing, I use paraffin wax. It even helps stabilize oscillators.

      That makes perfect sense. I personally use '' rubber in a tin '' I dip my receivers in it once they are loaded with whatever you plug in. Pull it out and its a perfect rubber coated waterproof receiver. It sets up in around 2 mins. To remove the stuff, if you ever want to, it's like peeling a banana.

    I've recently bought a RC fishing boat, and didn't know the manufacturer had no good water sealing for it, still a beginner, the thing is I lost one of the motors which can be replaced, but also got water into other electronic boards ( inside the boat was submerged with water) my question would the corrosion X fix the problem in the board or It should be replaced as well, as I am not electrician I don't know which of the electric parts were damaged and how far the damage is.
    looking for a heads up on what to do only.
    next time I'm definitely sealing inside the boat, great vids btw! hats down!

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  Před 2 měsíci

      Corrosion X should have been used before the water damage, it won't fix a damaged board, worth a try but I doubt it'll fixed it. May need new electrics.

      No, it stays kinda tacky and will most definitely gum up. You need conformal coating it's like an electrical "epoxy" works good for ground, air, and sea.

    Aren't those Spectrum receivers waterproof or resistant on their own? Have to test a Futaba w CX.

    • @Buellerwtfman
      @Buellerwtfman Před 2 lety +1

      I didnt really have issues with spektrum until I outgrew my pond and started having to run in brackish water. Just the tiny bit of salt in the water wrecked everything spektrum I had. Works good in that situation for me.

    • @VelocityKings
      @VelocityKings Před 2 lety

      @@jcallesano incorrect. Spectrum receivers have a degree of water protection, unlike Futaba. Few drops of water on a Futaba..bye bye. My buddy had a Spectrum receivers- not sure which and was fully soaked and continued to work to my amazement. They certainly are treated-- to what degree I'm not sure, I don't use Spectrum. OSE also confirmed this.

    • @Dr_Jet
      @Dr_Jet Před 2 lety

      @@IRONCLADRC In theory, LiPo cells are waterproof. They are in sealed pouches, so that's all good. It's the connections that you need to worry about. CorrosionX probably couldn't hurt anything other than hardening the insulation on the wire.
