Even the conductor was like...okay girl!
"Too many good voices...MY solo", LOL! I love Ms. McDonald's work so much!
All that, and she can work a crowd in a funny and charming way? And then comes in with the extra opt-up high note at the end!
gifted
Audra McDonald, actress and singer, primarily known for her work on the Broadway stage, she has won six Tony Awards, more performance wins than any other actor, and is the only person to win in all four acting categories. In addition to her six Tony Awards she has received numerous accolades including two Grammy Awards, and an Emmy Award. She was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2017
Thanks for the copy and paste.
If you get a chance to see Audra live, take it!
Absolutely. We got last-minute standing room tickets when Porgy & Bess was in trials at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge and she was mesmerizing from the second she stepped on the stage.
@@ThomasDawkins88 We saw her in concert with the Seattle Symphony in November last year--probably pretty much the London show. We also saw her on Broadway in 2019 in a dramatic role--no singing. Don't miss Audra--she's worth every penny no matter what she's performing.
She’s a treasure.
I’ve seen her in concert several times and she is always superb.
She will be in the new Broadway revival of Gypsy as Mama Rose
One of the best to ever grace a mic!
Omg what a silly fun and lovely take on this song 😂😂😂 she worked the crowd so well! This was great!
I was right up there in the Grand Circle!! When she invited us all to sing it was magical!
My son and I sang along with her tonight at Hammer Hall in Melbourne! Such a wonderful experience. And when she hits that last note….goosebumps!
I was at Hamer Hall tonight too! She's got the most magical voice, what a performance!
I was there with my partner! Such a magical night, I can’t stop thinking about how she just defies description. She’s absolutely perfect.
When Audra McDonald says "Sing" you SING! It's not everyday you get to sing with a Queen. So Fun! Audrey Hepburn was smiling in Heaven with that Crowdwork and Heavenly High Note 😍 BRAVO!!! 💗✊🏾
And today she'll be bringing the house down at the Sydney Opera House !!!!
That final NOTE!!!
Wow. Holy crap. That was fantastic.
I thought maybe she was feeling under the weather and was improvising to get through the high notes; then she blew me right off my sofa at the end.
She is SO terrific!
Her last note sent chills down my spine, and made my eyes well up with tears. Just beautiful!
McDonald is so fun to see live.
She's so beautiful.
But why ain’t she married to a brotha?
Am I the only one finding out she had such a beautiful voice????
Awww. That’s so sweet. She is known for her incredible voice. She is a vocal powerhouse.
I have known that for years. Where have you been?😂
She's a Queen!
She’s gorgeous
High C!!!
Come on through with that earth shattering SUSTAINED note!
Roof gone. Worth it ❤
i am OBSSESEDDDD

FANTASTIC!! Bravo!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This woman is brilliant!!!! Period
yup
❤❤❤❤
Awesome!❤
What a treasure! She's amazing!
She’s amazing. It always surprises me that when you get an audience to sing they sound great. But you know half of them are tone deaf. Maybe those that can’t don’t?😂😂
In a crowd that large, there were quite a few who had a set of pipes on them Audra even heard them. But when she hit that last note??? OMG my jaw dropped and I was just floored. Kudos to her and all those women that hit that last note before she blew everyone out of the water!!!!
Quelle voix sublime 👍👍👍👍👍
🔥🔥🔥
Superrrrrrr👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Oh this was so fun!!!
this brings soooo much joy
Espectacular!!! ❤❤❤
Magical.
Wow wow wow

In 2010 Diana Damrau sang the original version in a German fun talk show in a kind of house music version .. look for „ Diana Damrau - Zimmer frei“ on youtube it is even better..just her and one of the hosts…a musician, pianist..it was her first role after university
Why do people always feel the need to come up with an “even better” version?
@@jcmunich1 but it is better..so why not sharing it…czcams.com/video/ZpuIFBj1I2M/video.html Audra McDonald is great..but in this version..it is a bit stiff..it lacks the „acting“ of Diana Damrau..the fun..the dancing…btw. the dynamics of Damrau are way better…
that 2010 version is stupid. there is no audience and you can't understand it. it's not fun.
@@rellenoz just learn German..the mother language of the composer..and it needs no audience..or complain to the conductor, orchestra.etc. that they made such a boring performance..Eliza‘s age is assumed to be between 18-20..Audra McDonald seems to be a 60yo on stage..and a stiff bourgeois London audience..why not taking that micro..and dance.with charme
@@tillm2481 The mother language of Alan Lerner, who wrote the lyrics, was English.
