You are aware that the movie industry was terrified by RottenTomatoes, so errr, it was bought by (I believe) Warner Bros, Discovery and NBC? (legacy media companies). Imagine a channel owned by media/ad companies that gave its own products bad reviews...

Well, they are trying at least. I don't think it will turn out the way they hope though, while they do buy a few shows for D+ that they might influence, a large percentage of the anime studios are making their content for Japan first, and what Disney is doing will bomb in Japan.
It isn't like there isn't powerful women in anime though. Take White from "I'm a Spider, so what?" for instance, she is super powerful a while in. The difference between her and any Marvel Girlboss is that she starts out being pathetic and have to really fight to get somewhere, while someone like Captain Marvel or Rey just are insanely powerful from the start.
Disney really can't tell an interesting story anymore even if they life depended on it. Instead of trying to make better content they instead seems to try to make everyone else content worse instead. That works fine in US and Canada but Japan and South Korea are very different.
Disney can't afford to buy out the anime industry, they have wasted way too much money already and there is a limit to how much higher they can increase the prices tin the parks, which so far have been paying for all their flops.
Well Disney can buy some anime but they can´t do like they done in the past and buy whole franchise so anytime they buy something Japan will just make something new

I saw the end of classic doctor who and just finished rewatching classic this new who is worse than the episodes that got classic Who cancelled.

I noticed that right away after I left my reviews immediately after watching them. Would of thought you could see out comments by now but that is damage control for ya
I gave Space Babies a shot, and it was terrible! I am certainly skipping The Devil's Chord. I'll give the third episode a shot as I heard it was written by Moffat, and series 7-9 are my favourites (although series 10 was enough to make me stop watching the show for 5 years, so a tiny bit worried).
I don't like Ncuti at all. He feels very different. I loved Matt Smith when he was goofy, because he played it well. Can't say the same about Ncuti.
I'm surprised the reviews aren't lower, I'd assume RT are deleting the most negative ones- like I heard they did with series 11-13.
I was hoping Moffat would do a blink-esq episode, but considering the episode will be about "the Doctor stuck on a landmine" I suppose not.
If the episode doesn't deliver, I'm probably completely done with the show.. I can't protest by unsubscribing as I use Disney for other things,
but I can at least stop attribute to the viewing figures, like so many others are doing.
Moff is the only hope left. Both Babies and Chord were atrocious. I'll be reviewing it all though so pls feel free to stop by and check them out. Yes, Ncuti doesn't feel at all like the Doctor. He doesn't give the impression of any depth.

Disney loves to lose money for some reason.
We are boycotting in order to respect the Doctor Who that Chris Eccles and Billie P worked to bring us. We are walking away with heavy hearts to honour them and the show we loved.
What made the reboot great was Eccles and Piper. It was never down to RTD.
I'm only watching the next episode because it's a Stephen Moffat one but I've already had my doubts it's going to be anything like his early Peter Capaldi era episodes

The overnight ratings are in and what a wonderful attempt by Ncuti to get straight to the record. He has to beat Legend of the Sea Devils 2.2 million lowest ever rating, and what a credit managing to bring in penultimate and pro-penultimate places with scores of 2.6 million for Space Rabies and 2.4 million for The Devil's Bored. I'm sure we'll see him make it to the lowest figure, well under 2 million soon enough. Imagine all the grass that's being touched. Oh yeah Radio Times tried to blame the non-audience participation on 'good weather.' 🤣
After everything that's happened since Christmas (i.e. "white mediocrity", Tennant and RTD shooting their mouths off), I can't watch this. This doesn't deserved to be watched. Doctor Who really is dead to me.

I was thankful that the second half of Clarkson's Farm dropped on Friday. I was able to watch someone mowing grass on Saturday evening from the comfort of my armchair, rather than having to go outside to touch it. The 4 new episodes carried me over both Doctor-Who-Fkn-Cares-At-This-Point, plus the majority of that annual freak show, "The Eurovision Song Contest".
Was amused to see a similar trend there though, reported on the news the following day; the official "judges", the professional opinion givers, the ones with their pulse on the trends of popular culture and opinion, they gave Olly Alexander and his excruciating little section of oiled up men in leather shorts grinding on each other all the points they received. The "paying public" apparently gave them sod all. It appears in all areas, those paid to critique are too busy virtue signalling and filling their pockets with Rothschild's money to think about credibility, relevance or honesty anymore.
Looks like I was right about clowns all along, they ARE evil.
And this is with the Eurovision Trans Song Festival boost
I just had a brush through the critics reviews on RT. They are all comparing the new series with an totally incorrect idea of What Dr Who has always been right up until the JW series. It has always been a balance of threat and scares against some daft sci-fi. The old trope of hiding behind the sofa due to it being scary is important and long lost. There is no threat - no peril. Its villains are as scary as Dr Robotnik from sonic. There needs to be actual scares. Scares not bout about by there being a countdown or timer, too.

I have loved Doctor Who for many , many years (John Pertwee was my first Dr). But so far these 2 episodes look like they were made by someone who has never seen an episode of Dr Who. I don't care if your characters are inclusive (I have no problem with that) but the stories are dreadful and told badly. I hope they improve because I really do love Dr Who.

Usually my curiosity allows me to venture back in but nah, not even a multi doctor episode will save this show. I'm actually struggling to look at David Tennant in the same light for being part of its execution.

The first half of Space Babies was Decent, then it Crashed after they encountered the babies.
When Ruby got "Snotted" upon in the corridor, it was Worth the show, and the Best thing about that episode.
Getting to their destination by Farting I thought was funny, but a waist of good story telling.

Well, I guess that's fine for you. Personally I think we were baited with a better episode before the 180 into Space Baby station. The fart made me cringe though...I guess maybe my tastes have changed, though I thought the slitheen were pretty cringe too and I was much younger then, but hey, everyone has what makes them laugh.

Well Doctor Who was never about the VFX it was about the Story and the Character. However the Doctor died in the 11th Season Episode 1. The show should have had the Doctor begin to regenerate and then just vaporize into nothingness. Everything after this point is a counterfeit and an insult to my intelligence.

These two are completely different intellectual properties with a very different idea of their respective universes (for the latter up to the end of Enterprise anyway - and even that show was too much for some fans: after that the terrible new shows like Discovery are like the aforementioned pod people - something with no connection to the ethos that made the show in the first place, but just wearing its skin. With Doctor Who, the process has been a protracted one. The creeping Americanisation of the programme, which began with the (partly American funded) 1996 TV movie and carried on during the NuWho era has now reached a new low. Whatever this is, it's not Doctor Who, which is why so many fans are just walking away. The BBC and the shills can make all the excuses they wish, but to lose half the overnight audience since the Christmas special is a disaster. Those who say that ex-fans are objecting to 'progressive messaging' are insane. Doctor Who (and other classic TV sci-fi such as Star Trek) have had progressive ideas in them since the beginning, but they were delivered within the context of the shows' universes, not bludgeoned on the audience with the implicit message that if you don't jump up shouting hallelujah you're a fascist. It might come as a surprise to some flag-wavers of the new left, but people don't generally take being told how they must behave too well.

This version is on a course to destroy his creation and his own legacy by being beyond obsessed with addenda above quality writing. I can't review what I haven't watched and personally I cannot bring myself to watch it. One thing between 1963-2017 which consistently held this show up wasn't the budget or even some of the actors, but the ability to tell a good story. I feel that within the last few years, this show has constantly been let down because they focus their efforts more on throwing in as many woke cliques as they can while the beating heart of it, which should be the story, suffers. Overnight viewing figures do not look great either. It makes me laugh because they are always banging on about 'bigoted / toxic fans' and doubling down on all the DEI in the name of inclusion, yet they're slowly but surely destroying the platform they're using for it. So, it leaves me wondering whether they actually care as much as they make out. It would be like taking a megaphone to a protest to make some loud vocal points but deliberately breaking it before getting to it! If yourself and others I follow who watch it said of one of the episodes that it's actually got brilliant again, then I might give it a chance. If not, then like so many have said, R.I.P Dr Who.

Can't really comment, because I won't be watching Dr. Who. Have been a fan since Tom Baker, and went back to watch the previous ones and have watched all since...until now. Sadly, a Doctor who looks like a child doesn't interest me no matter what his qualifications. Maybe I'm missing out on something wonderful, but judging from fan reviews, I don't think so. I have my DVDs and can watch past episodes for months without repeating, so what do I need with frustrating and disappointing new stuff?
Jinx was effective in a way and they did add some scare moments in his character. But it ends there and became an instant cheese bomb especially near the end with the it's a twist song. I couldn't imagine Christopher Ecclestone singing and dancing like that 😂 Tennant maybe cause he's always been a bit weird anyway.
I guess Tennant yeah, maybe. At least when Eccleston's Doctor danced it was in a classy way, a masculine way and in celebration of all the lives he saved.
I watched the first episode. The first few minutes actually showed some hope. the after about 15 minutes it fell apart. I can see what they tried to do - make it a bit funnier, camper and more fit for a less intelligent US audience. Overall I’d say it was ever so slightly better that the JW doctor run. But that is a really low bar to set. I’d give it 2 or 3 out of 10.
I think if there was great writing and directing Ncuti could actually be a good Doctor. Put him in the Eccleston or Tennant era and I think he could have been good.

I thought Ncuti and Millie had great chemistry and were both great. In fact the first episode was completely carried by them and the woman who I don't know because the plot was terrible. The second episode I actually really liked and thought Ncuti was fantastic in that. The story was fun if a bit silly but very fun and entertaining. Not the best episode ever but it was fun, it felt as good as anything RTD did last time when he was in charge when again he was just an ok DW writer. The series so far is better than I expected after the so called specials but not as good as in the Moffat days
Yeah there were only 3 actual actors in the episode. Still I feel that the concept was appallingly stupid and had no business being the series opener. Also, Gatwa was intolerable in it. He just flounced about acting like an outdated cartoon of a gay dude.
No, I wouldn't 98-100%. When I rated Space Babies, I said one should wait till the Late Late Show and VHS to watch it.

So, yeah, the critics being out of touch with the audience isn't a new thing, I can remember the late 80s, constantly hearing, "Ebert said it was good, but I just couldn't handle it," or variations thereof.
That said, isn't this a bit like putting on a minstrel show? White character, suddenly in black face... not very progressive shit lords.
Dr Who is dead to me. Why did they kill it? I have no political or woke agenda, I could not give less of a damn about that. It is just a pile of human waste. Why do this to such a series, this was something special, it was getting very childish, but this is the final straw. Time to never look at it again. I am cancelling Disneyplus too. I remember being scared as a child watching this mind blowing series back then. Yes it was allways a cheap production but it had a history.
Most of us get called right wing, but the truth is we hate politics and want it gone from everything that isn't supposed to be political.

Sometimes in the same episode, I find that very difficult to believe, all the time in every episode, now that I can believe.
"I'm not here like the others to review the show" - You know, you could at least pretend you are reviewing it... give some generic "I loved it I thought the actor was cool", at least pretend...
To be honest, the last Doctor I really enjoyed was Matt Smith (I liked Tennant's brief return)

Dr who was fantastic, maybe it’s just not made for old men with no taste. Their performances was perfect, especially Jinkx. Clearly don’t know what you’re talking about and your opinions on the show are clearly a biers projected from your own self insecurity. Was great and very much looking forward to next episodes. Disney has majorly expanded the show which was dying through underfunding at the BBC.
What began as excellent science fiction in 1963, turned into Eastenders in space after 2017 and is now just Brigadoon tickling the edge of a black hole. While Shitty Gaywad might like his black hole being tickled, the rest of the true fans no longer like being bent over and told what we should like.

Ironically, this went on with "Black Panther" amazing scores/reviews, best ever marvel movie, greatest actors, etc. CZcams deleting comments too. The same old Wokiness.. Actor Chadwick Boseman (RIP) didn't use an english/American accent because it displayed colonialism.. So he spoke "English" with an African accent..Ridiculous hate nonsense..If that was the case they should be speaking in Wakanden and subtitled in english FFS! 😂.
The movie was credited for having an ALL black cast..Apart from the "White" bad guys..When Stan Lee appeared in cameo, all blacked up, (like he did in all marvel movies) the black critics went Ape S*it.
It had to be explained to them that HE wrote the bloody character and this was his nod to the fans..

It's called "This ain't, Doctor Who" and when my workmates put it on, I was absolutely disgusted and offended by it..I made my excuses and went home.. Can't say much. But.. Regenerating into men, women, Aliens and feck knows what else, and getting it on, and leaving nothing to the imagination..My point is...This Doctor Who series kind of reminds me of it, in a lighter way.. I rather get the feeling that they'd love to take THIS series down the Torchwood++ road, and make it 18 rated and go to town on it, if they could.. I can remember RTD Tweeting to a close friend in about 2007-08? or maybe later...(Not too sure about the date.) It was concerning his other show "Cucumber, Banana Tofu". His mate was joking about him taking Doctor Who down a similar road, and RTD said to the effect "OMG! Don't even suggest it right now LOL"
He's been thinking about it for over a decade, Torchwood was his great experiment.. It's no wonder Christopher Eccleston left.. We'll probably never know the real facts behind him leaving the roll Will..He was well liked.. This is only IMO..😉

It's cool, I like having really detailed comments. There's too much to answer everything but I agree bascially, and with RTD's recent comments about NOT outing predators on TV shows, another reason Eccleston wanted out.
I really wanted to like it. I couldn't bring myself to watch the first episode. It sounded so pants. I watched the second episode and it was all over the place. There was some calmer, more interesting moments that would have been a given in the Who of the past. You think about 9 to 12 and the speeches they would make and you'd think, fk you're right. Jinkx was wasted and is a really talented cabaret performer and was made to look like some pointless loose cannon. Terrible dialogue. Schizo plotting and then the finale, WTF. Are they trying to tank this show? The effects were like something out of a Pixar movie. Was that intentional? Will Gatwa ever calm down. It's like he needs medication. A 5 year old on E numbers. I really hope this gets better otherwise the show is done. I did notice the extra's in wheelchairs and that did make me chuckle a bit. Some serious box ticking going on. They really think the viewers are simple.
I really wanted to like it too but all the same reasons made me hate it
