Putting aside any feelings one might have about the political views being espoused here, I think we can (or at least should) agree on one thing regarding this scene - this is some damn good writing! It's so sharp, scathing and witty; I love it! Honestly I feel like Nicky Katt's character was given some of the best dialogue on that show and he sure knew exactly how to deliver it!
@olaoluwaafolayn6554 It probably wasn't for the reason you might have thought. It was early in the series, he had the Dangerous Minds collection of rif raf for a class and he was only trying to get their attention and nothing else.
Funny thing about this series is that the teens in it were in the earliest years of what are now labeled as millennials 🤣🤣 The web was also very new as evidenced by Holt and her goofy early version of gifs and memes. I would love to see it go into syndication in order of episodes to see later millennials and gen Z woke, me too, etc., etc., go nuts over the variety of topics they covered in just the first 7 episodes alone.
The fact of the matter is that the statistics comparing legal gun ownership and crime rates in states find either no correlation between increased gun ownership and less violence or a slight positive correlation. None of them find a positive correlation between increased gun control and less violence. We have a higher murder rate with knives alone than most European countries total murder rate. Our violence problem has nothing to do with our gun ownership.
@Sei1863 He does have a point 365 days gone. If your a fan of Boston Public than you must be at least familiar with the show creator and writer David E. Kelley who has been trying to raise the level of debate in this country since like 1986 when he started writing for LA Law. That episode was written by David Kelley for that matter. As a fan of both Boston Public and Kelley, don't insult our intelligence by asking us not to debate.
As an addendum, any english teacher who's worth their salt understands that the prefatory clause has no grammatical control over the operative clause of the 2nd amendment.
@Sei1863 Good point, but my main point is the writer and creator of Boston Legal loves debate, so for the guy that posted this video to be pissed about debate, but he picked a video that is from a guy that loves debate and with very contravercial issues. But I think debate is good because maybe someone with the power to get guns off the street will see the comments from the guys that are for guns and be scared. The more people like this that protest guns the sooner they won't be a problem.

@Kokomokox I don't care how unpatriotic you are but you could consider that the person breaking into your home is more than likely armed with a weapon as well and considering his occupation I would think he would be better with a gun than myself or you. As for your anti American statements, I don't get why you would put down people that are patriotic. You say liberal like its a bad thing. This is a country built on liberty. Thing to love about America is you have the right to hate it.
@ravenshrike thats right...u know i think more people get killed or injured by household items accidents or even pets..mostly dogs are number one on that list ..than by guns or gun violence...in this country..nobody disses dog ownership..why not tougher dog ownership laws and legal rights?...nope...doesn't do a thing for the media.....

And the dog argument made the point that if you're going to stop gun ownership because the item kills people, well dogs can kill people, but nothing is being done about that.
