Sanitary folder: stamps came wax paper envelopes so that the back which is where they had to “licked” to activate the glue would be sanitary or not touched. Make sense? Love the enamel. Blessings 🐶🐾🐾
@nested bird Is the saying " experienced people " code for old people? Am 55 and remember buying stamps from those machines. I also remember when the first self sticking stamps came out and thought how great it was.
LOL...Sanitary folders for the stamps because back in the day we used to have to lick our stamps to adhere them to the envelope. Very cool stamp machine for sure!
If you go to your local liquor store you can ask them for empty boxes as they’re ideal for storing and shipping glass because they have different size slots
I was at the waterfured factory 22 yrs ago in Ireland. It was amazing. Bought lots of dishes, clocks and bowls. They showed us the blowing of some of the glass and how to ruffle the glass.so amazing. We didn’t want to leave. Bought some Beleck also. Love it! My wedding dishes and glasses were in the green when we got married 51 years ago.
We had to lick those stamps, so appreciated that they were sold in "sanitary" folders. LOL>>>The Gregorian copper is a good piece...good seller, too. >>>Hey, those particular ice cube trays had a tool...also aluminum that was used to loosen the cubes. I forgot about that, but my mom always kept ours in the egg section of the refrigerator door and woe to the kid who did not put it back after breaking down the cubes!!!
Hi Jeffery, my husband and I are Collectors and also artiists from Milton, Ontario CANADA and I have commented before I'm sure. We LOVE your Soda Fountain eatery basement set uo...very cool. My husband Brian thinks it would look great behind your counter to do a mock window showing a cook in chef hat behind the window..I think it's a great idea too. It would give 3D depth and realism and interest to what you've already got set up. If we lived near you, we would design and paint it for you for free if you liked the idea. Nice auction haul btw! HAPPY PICKING!!!
When my mom made something we kids may not love ratting for dinner, she served pudding in the green sherbet dishes. We had to eat the dinner to get the pudding. Love that memory.
What would add to the look of your basement is a black and white checkered tile floor, maybe Peal N Stick. What do you think cause the room is real cute?
I put down a floor that is similar to "terrazzo" that was real big In the 40s-60s. I did a budget version with paint and glitter specks. I have a basement tour video on my channel way back!
Jeffery you are killing me!😂 I was fully on board with you on NO MORE GLASSWARE! My husband keeps sending me pictures of glassware sets and I keep saying NO we have too much right now... but then something GREAT comes along... but I also could not have turned down for $12... so I get you😉. Have fun shipping:) Love the tiny tea set. Lol I was just saying ask SueMe when you said you contacted her! I’d put a couple dollars on the soft balls and put them in your booth. Someone may want them for display. They have a nice look. I’m so glad you got that composite coaster set! I thought it was really cute when you picked it up.
Hi Jeffery! I love all the green glass stuff. Jocelyn has that same Fairy Lamp on her Buffay.. I'm learning a lot from you and Jocelyn. Thank you so much.
I'm so happy that you bought your metal signs. They are pretty cool! That's a lot of green glass, love it. I'm sure that you will do very well with it.
Wow Gregorian copper? Cool. That’s go as in go. So darn many amazing things. I have bought some great lots on a local online auction, but never been to an in person one. Yay for you and Barb.
Oh those metal wall pieces simply to die for! Trying not to buy lol my mantra that doesn’t work lol. Love the burple...matches my bowl..great haul as always ❤️🙂
You did so well at this auction! Loved the green glassware especially the cake plate. So many other nice things too. Really like your basement 'Diner' and the new metal burger and fries you bought for it. Really fun! 😊🎃😊 (And yes they would have wanted the stamps to be in sanitary folders because they had to lick them back then.) 😊
The sanitary folder was because back then you still had to “lick” the back of the stamp to activate the glue. I would check those piece of cardboard that you said are in the machine and make sure there’s not a bunch of unused stamps in them. If you’ve ever bought stickers or temporary tattoos from vending machines they are in a fold over piece of cardboard. Same with the stamps. Love the green glass
I'm the oldest of 12 kids and I thought the best invention ever was instant mashed potatoes even though they didn't taste the greatest! The reason I thought that is it takes forever to peel enough potatoes to feed 14 people!
omg! Your basement with the mock diner is to die for! 😍 and I thought that the estate sale with a mock diner in it that I saw was cool. Time for a new basement tour indeed! ;)
Wow that was a huge haul The oil thing with the apple deco is really pretty All the different glassware Amazing Sounds weird but I like to drink out of odd glasses (it is what it is) oh yeah I forgot the green not sure what it was ? decanter Beautiful
OMGosh how precious is your basement. I love it so much, So fun. WOW, I think you did great at the auction. If I had a granddaughter I would get her that Tea set. Those are the best kinda Icetrays and the kind with the pull handle on top. Put some fake straw in that old 31:57 Baskit then set a Hen in the middle. Put them old cans on eBay you know they always looking for movie props. Or you can put them in your booth. you can sell them anywhere I think.
I am 65 and back in the day when we mailed letters and bills my mom would let me lick the stamps. Fun part was Mom let me put money in the machine to get the stamps.
My Dahlink Jeffrey... PHALEEEZEEE put some shelving and a Counter on the wall BEHIND your counter. A cash register belongs out of reach, with the keys seen. A looong mirror just above, so that you can observe the people seated at said counter. Next BIG purchase... jukebox. Open shelving above mirror to display your favorite related items... Viola!! Much Love!!! Mwah!!
Love your tin signs, they look like the old drive in movies snack bar signs. Did the green decanter sell already? Love that but didn't see in Etsy shop. The cannister set is awesome. Such great finds!
You got some really great stuff!..I wish they still had those stamp boxes in the post office, it was so much easier to mail something then. Now you have to stand in the long line just to get one stamp.🥴....Those metal ice trays bring back memories of my Grandmas house, wrestling with them to get the ice out when I was little.😀....The frenches mashed potato can looks familiar, could be from the 80s?🤔
The little tea set is Geisha ware... it was one of those things where people were paid (probably by the piece) to paint inside the lines... I'm pretty sure it was something that was implemented after WW2, to try and get some income streams to the Japanese citizens - that's why some of them look like they literally threw a blob of paint on. They did! lol. Fantastic deal on all the green glass1
Great haul! My go to videos in the morning are you and Joselyn. I'm surprised and delighted that you are doing this on the weekends also. No down time?
Jeffery I never seen that bottom of those glasses before but it sure is pretty, I made a nice set of green glass stuff for my daughter for when she got married and she didn't want it so I have a lit of that color green pieces
I’m not sure it’s a children’s set, Tea sets are generally small coming from Japan the little dish that looks like a small bowl, either a finger bowl or sauce dish for dipping
Jeffrey WOW I live in So Cal. Lots of thrift stores here. I just went to the largest thrift store in L.A. Not that great. I have several favorites from Pasadena along 210 freeway to Claremont. Let me know when you can visit L .A.
I love how you begin and end your video's, short, no high tech crap, just short and sweet. I have turned off a few people's thrift video's because the intro is way to long and way too high tech for thrift video's. A turn off and loss of my viewing future video's of theirs. Keep up the good work.👍👍👍👍🙋♀️
Love all that green glass! I had a pair of Waterford flutes, sold them for $24 plus shipping and had to refund the buyer because they broke in shipment. I felt awful. I have a lot to learn about packing glass and crystal.
Sanitary folder: stamps came wax paper envelopes so that the back which is where they had to “licked” to activate the glue would be sanitary or not touched. Make sense? Love the enamel. Blessings 🐶🐾🐾
@@nested bird I love how you worded your reply!! lol
@nested bird Is the saying " experienced people " code for old people? Am 55 and remember buying stamps from those machines. I also remember when the first self sticking stamps came out and thought how great it was.
I'm 75 so I remember a lot of these things.
@@grammiecopper9024 my boss used to say "wise".
LOL...Sanitary folders for the stamps because back in the day we used to have to lick our stamps to adhere them to the envelope. Very cool stamp machine for sure!
I used to work at FedEx and the USPS. The way boxes are thrown, sorted, and stacked it’s amazing anything gets where it’s going in one piece! 😬
Under $12 I went “what!” Right out loud. OMG. I love it all. Especially that decanter. What a find. What a score... well done!
If you go to your local liquor store you can ask them for empty boxes as they’re ideal for storing and shipping glass because they have different size slots

That moon and stars cake plate is amazing.
My heart is leaping at that $12 green glass. Especially the cake plate.
Jeffrey you are a wealth of knowledge!! Great person to watch and learn from!! Product knowledge is timeless.
I have that green canister set bought new when got married in 74, still use it, never have issues with bugs or humidity
Of course those signs are stellar; glad you got em, but also so glad you got the paper coasters. Those are really unique and pretty!
I wonder if those metal fries and burger came from a old out door theater they used to have signs like that hanging in the snack shops
Love the child's tea set. I still buy them because I collect miniatures and child's small things including dishes. Great haul.
We had to lick those stamps, so appreciated that they were sold in "sanitary" folders. I would Never regret the splurge for your 50’s cafe, So Cool!
Wow what a great collection of nice stuff ,the last big basket with the cans in it looked like it would be great for display in you booth.
The stamps used to need to be licked. That's why they were in sanitary folders. That also kept them from sticking together.

Back in the early 70’s my husband and I had red salt and pepper shakers like the first pair you showed. What a blast from the past for me
You and the Crazy Lamp lady are my favorite thrifters. 💖
I believe the 2 tin cans from the basket are coffee cans. My grandma kept the cute cans and put christmas presents in them.
I was just going to comment on this ... I remember that tin ... my mom got it (not sure the brand but she usually got maxwell house)
TBH all those tiny teacups from Japan would make cute little planters for succulents!
Hi Jeffery! I love all the green glass stuff. Jocelyn has that same Fairy Lamp on her Buffay.. I'm learning a lot from you and Jocelyn. Thank you so much.
If I had grand kids I would be ALL OVER that tea set! What an amazing haul Jeffery! I love it all so much!
You can tell by the weight and the feel of the edges of the cuts. The noise means nothing.
I'm so happy that you bought your metal signs. They are pretty cool! That's a lot of green glass, love it. I'm sure that you will do very well with it.

They look SO CUTE!! just perfect for your basement
Every time I hear burple and boopie, I can't help myself and I just got to laugh (: I am envious of your basement set up BTW!
Wow, I collect Moon and Stars and I've never seen that footed cake plate! It's just beautiful.
"In sanitary folders" was because we had to lick our stamps back in the 80's! Lol 😂
Love the green glassware. Perfect for Christmas. Lots of great information. Thank you.
Great haul. LOVE your basement and the signs. That tall basket is definitely worth $30. The vintage cans are great decor for retro kitchens.
You made out good with all the green items I wish we had auctions places like you guys do Did Barb get stuff too?
She got a couple "free" things, lol.
That penguin bucket was used as a cookie jar by my family in the 60s!
I'm the oldest of 12 kids and I thought the best invention ever was instant mashed potatoes even though they didn't taste the greatest! The reason I thought that is it takes forever to peel enough potatoes to feed 14 people!
Beautiful green glass! Loved hearing your clocks... awesome haul!
I don't buy things worrying about what they can be used for. I just purchase to enjoy.
omg! Your basement with the mock diner is to die for! 😍 and I thought that the estate sale with a mock diner in it that I saw was cool. Time for a new basement tour indeed! ;)
The sanitary envelopes in the postal machine was probably because you had to lick stamps back then.
Your bird clock sounds great! I love the Gregorian copper bowl and all of the green glass. You did really well at that auction.
That's a very fun haul you got there! You did very well! I've never heard of fairy lamps before but I'll be on the lookout for one now!
I have all the bloopie glasses from my grandma. I love them.
What a great haul. I love the green glass. You got some good booth fillers for pennies in the lots. All those clocks so cool to hear.🕰⏰🕛
I am obsessed with moon and star....
I have the copper West Bend ice bucket w/ Bakelite; keep my phone charger in it...I've never lost my charger, 😁
Love the basement decor. Good purchase of the metal pieces.

Oooh I like the canister set, it's really pretty and the cake plate is beautiful
For all the pieces made in Japan with the oriental motif, you should contact Jocelyn’s friend Sue. She is an expert on that stuff.
I need to start going to auctions. Looks like you had a blast!!
They needed to be sanitary because you had to lick them! You youngsters...😂😂
My Dahlink Jeffrey... PHALEEEZEEE put some shelving and a Counter on the wall BEHIND your counter. A cash register belongs out of reach, with the keys seen. Love your tin signs, they look like the old drive in movies snack bar signs. Did the green decanter sell already? Love that but didn't see in Etsy shop. The cannister set is awesome. Such great finds!
Yes! It sold quickly!
I found a small Waterford sunburst clock at Goodwill for 2.99. Didn't have the timepiece, but I ordered that from Waterford for 15.99. it's lovely.😊
A great haul thanks for explaining the different types of glass just beautiful
Good buy on the green glass! The metal food signs are cool.
You got some really great stuff!..I wish they still had those stamp boxes in the post office, it was so much easier to mail something then. The postage stamp machine says sanctuary folders because back then you had to lick the stamps to wet the glue so they would stick.
Love all the green glass. The decanter is fantastic!
Scott (the old curiosity shop) is sure increasingly interested in purchasing and displaying amber glass recently! :-)
The little tea set is Geisha ware... it was one of those things where people were paid (probably by the piece) to paint inside the lines... Hi again 1. You made good my friend. 2 in the stamp machine the items inside are called pickles.
Great purchase on the fries and burger. Love Sue from Sue Me. Only reason I watch Crazy Lamp Lady.
Wow, 80 bucks for all but the burger and fry signs is awesome!
Cool clock. I live about 5 mins from Starved Rock
Very popular hiking spot.
I do NOT think you "paid up" for those fries and burger metal pieces. They are fantastic! and, bonus, they look awesome where you put them - score!
The ‘zing’ of the cristal is longer and a more clear and crips sound.
Great haul! My go to videos in the morning are you and Joselyn. I'm surprised and delighted that you are doing this on the weekends also. No down time?
I'm effecient, so I manage some time in! Excited for 7 days a week now!
You educate every time thank you
No Jeffrey- you said it correctly- Sue is one of those people that only needs one name, like Madonna or Cher-Yes, Sue IS that epic!!
Wow! $400. worth of glass for $12, way to go! Love the rec room! I think that is a saki set not a child's set.
Beautiful green pieces!
Jeffery I never seen that bottom of those glasses before but it sure is pretty, I made a nice set of green glass stuff for my daughter for when she got married and she didn't want it so I have a lit of that color green pieces
Cool haul today.

I’m not sure it’s a children’s set, Tea sets are generally small coming from Japan the little dish that looks like a small bowl, either a finger bowl or sauce dish for dipping
Sanitary folders???? weren't stamps the "lickin' 'n stickin' "kind, way back then??

For a lot of people, I turn off the sound and put on closed captioning. Jeffrey's is one of the few that I don't do that.
Yes, I frequently skip the intro on 'you know whose' videos.
Use clear fingernail polish..(good polish) so it wouldn't chip any more.
Love all that green glass! I had a pair of Waterford flutes, sold them for $24 plus shipping and had to refund the buyer because they broke in shipment. I felt awful. I have a lot to learn about packing glass and crystal.
Oh no! Something like that might be best to be individually boxed and then put inside another larger box!
Your fries and burger metal signs remind me of the type of stuff I remember seeing at the snack bars at the drive ins back in my day.....lol .
It reminded me of the moving "Twister", lol
Can't you put water on your fingers and go around top of crystal glass and it will make a very pretty sound?
