I think the criticism of 'how would you be able to do it' is not really valid here, imagine a surgeon making a mistake and if you say they're bad they say 'well let's see you do it then'. Tattoos are expensive and the people who make them are supposed to be professionals, it's not just a drawing that anyone can do. It's expected of them to have a steady grip and decent skills. 'Not that bad' is not good enough for something that's going to be on your body forever that you probably paid a lot for 🤷🏻

I can remember a male defendant on Court Cam with his wife who were charged with murdering a sex offender. The male defendant had “Skinhead” tattooed in big letters on his neck and “White Power” tattooed in the same big letters on his head.

Part of this is definitely people criticizing the tattooist's art style, I agree. But some of these are just really bad spatial awareness and inconsistency. You can claim it's your style all you want, but if you can't detail and shade everything to the same level you would particular things then it's not your style, you're just inconsistent. Now to be fair, sometimes there's a reason tattooists only do certain works and don't go outside their comfort zone, and even if the tattooist is skilled the person *asking* for a tat just has poor taste. I like to think sometimes these aren't so much a critique on the artist but on the person who thought this was genuinely a good idea for a tattoo, or a good idea to get it inked there etc. Whether that is true is a matter of opinion ultimately.
Edit; Oh yea, another thing, the shading. Some of the shading is soooo damn bad. Like Zach comments on some of these he doesn't know what's so bad about it--it's the shading, hon. A good tattooist can do a decent shading job and that takes *time,* a lot of time. Shading and coloring takes significantly more time than line art and requires an entirely different tip, layering to get the pigment in past the first layer of skin, and bet your ass it hurts more because the tip is essentially designed to scrape off your skin to pack in that ink. Depending on what colors you got and how big the piece was, it wouldn't be unheard of to come back for multiple sessions or retouches because you simply can't get it all in one go. So some of these being passed off as 'final pieces' is the true crime here.

That last one was actually pretty, some of these are not bad they're just questionable (the hazbin hotel one was actually well done, it's just that hazbin hotel is controversial)
I think you have low standards for mostly permanent changes to someone’s body.
