    I hold a business card behind the slim jim right down at the weatherstrip and it doesn't scratch any visible area of the window, even on a dodge ram where you know you need that inward bend that likes to scratch.

    Was super glad to see it performed on a harder application, a lot of people are fooled into thinking this can be done simply but on trucks it can definitely be more difficult. Those air wedges need to be stronger and create more gap

    Great video Uriah! I carry a small utility ladder in my van that fits right behind the seat. I'm 6"3 but it still makes all the difference on auto lock outs with Trucks and Semi's.

      If you do a good job there should be no damage, but yeah if we weren’t making this video on our truck for video purposes the passenger door is our go to….

    I recently discovered this channel and I have a question.
    I was wondering I did as a job unlocking peoples car with the access tool, and a few other car services for a company in my area. So I have the tools. Do I need a license or anything to do the car unlock with access tool or charge someon battery etc.. to do those mobile services?

    I prefer an S tool to open the Ford vehicles with I can open it in seconds and I don’t have to have any damage they Long reach tall is more aggravating getting it in and out and then watch necessary the S TOOL is very quick and efficient. I also can open them with a pick key which is just done through the lock itself very efficient. Many different ways to open the vehicle.

    is there a safer spot where to insert air wedge? Example, is it safer to put the air wedge on the top corner vs the middle of door?

    • @GuardianSafeAndLock
      @GuardianSafeAndLock  Před 2 lety +1

      Depends on the vehicle, but put where ever it makes sense and gives you the most room.

    Should use a plastic cover around the long reach so you don’t scratch the car paint too

    • @GuardianSafeAndLock

      We have some tools that require that as well, but this long reach tool is wrapped with rubberized plastic and does not scratch paint. Thanks for watching!

    The issue with the long reach tools is that you are bending the door to get it in there. They are best for frameless doors. That ford can be opened with a slim jim in about 3 seconds. They also make about 12 specialty tools that go inside the door and grab the linkage. They shy away from those on newer vehicles because there are airbags inside the doors. I always thought locksmiths knew how to actually pick locks though?!

    • @GuardianApproved
      @GuardianApproved Před 2 lety +3

      Yeah this is an older vehicle and a bad example lol I guess in this case a Slim Jim would work it’s a 2002. And we do have other tools and methods of gaining entry like picking it or deciphering the cylinder to gain entry, or even by running the vin number. Thanks for watching! - UDRO

    • @GuardianSafeAndLock
      @GuardianSafeAndLock  Před rokem +1

      @DimebagVision locksmiths are supposed to be licensed and insured in Texas so they do have insurance in case something happens. And locksmiths do pick locks mostly residential and commercial locks, automotive has double sided cylinders and keys and are much harder to pick, some locksmiths don’t even deal with automotive, we do both. And it’s easier to open with these tools then to pick most of the time.

    When I lock my self out of my car, I don't give a damn if I scratch my car. (It's not a crappy paint job on it either).
    The important thing is to get the damn thing unlocked again.
    If your in a hurry you'll understand what I mean. I was about to break my window the other day to get into it. 😁

    I've one of those kits forever even bought the light with suction cups to stick on windshield or side windows to see at night plus the extension to make my bar longer. I never really went for the handle most times went for keys hooking them then unlocking the door always laying the keys on the hood or roof simply giving them to the customer I've go two more old school sets no 3 one in really old in a clear bag with enough different rods rods slim jims to do about anything the one Matco because the first one wasn't do the on everything as the Matco did had upgrade went back with SnapOn where the first came from I remember now then upgraded to what you have I can on smaller cars go through the passenger side door hook your keys in ignition and bring them out. One thing I'd like to know is what name brand lockout set was that my last i got from my SnapOn man for $60.00 because I'm tax exempt have a tax retail tax number

      @@Gabriel-ji4bna more realistic option would be getting a non chipped key (metal or plastic head key that won’t start the car) and putting a hide-a-key somewhere under your car. Costs less than $20. A car lockout will cost much more, and won’t stop you from making the mistake again
