It is also the mistakes I have done many times when I was a beginner, so hopefully these videos will help to avoid those mistakes faster. 😊✌

PK's most powerful skill is how he plays with, twists, rewinds and slightly changes his sampled loops without ending up with something boring even though it is usually very repetitive throughout the whole song. Best heard in his song "No Goodbye". That song is also a beautiful example of how to play with the kick, for example the reintroduction of the kick at 00:51 (the 2:47 minute version)

What I need to start doing again... is to reuse, resample elements I already have in the project. When I started in the 90s it was a common technique because simply I didn't have too many sounds. This not only can boost the creativity but also make a track more coherent

    • @SinaRan301

This style of video is very interesting, even if I don't like what it might say about which one of the producers I am. The analysis of the tendencies of producers at different levels helps me think about habits I had and have and hope to have. 🙏
"Having a bit of knowledge makes the track too polished" ... so guilty. 😑
"Off beat hook" is GOLD. 🥇

Hej, Yalcin - Thanks so much for your channel. I have watched many of your videos since discovering it recently. It would be great to see you do videos that talk about artists such as: Shed, Recondite and Aril Brikha. I'm learning some great tricks and tips from you. These master-level videos also remind us that moving beyond 'pro' level is to break some rules, inject some character and creativity into our productions. To use our acquired knowledge but to avoid perfectionism, which can make our music uninteresting, too technical and less human. I look forward to seeing what you present in the future. Stort tack från Australien!

Hey Alice, you're really impressive!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. i have not been using ableton for a long time because I find that it degrades the sound compared to Maschine. For example, when importing the same VST in live or in Maschine. In Maschine the sound is more punchy, more precise, but the sofware is far less powerful than Live. In Live to compensate, you have to work much more in mastering... What do you think about that and how to handle it? Thanks :=)

Calling Paul Kalkbrenner techno is like calling Imagine Dragons metal. This is essentially pop music with a faster “techno-oriented” drumwork. I wouldnt even really call it techno-oriented because it might just as well be pop-house. Its well made and smooth, but the dynamics are nonexistent, its very quiet despite all the transients squashed to hell and its not too interesting. I think he is a good example of a DJ/producer who got one good song and capitalized on that. I have been to one of his sets unwillingly because of friends and it was a total borefest mostly, and the best songs he played were all from other people. But since he is famous he is a “master” of techno apparently…People forget techno is supposed to be anti-establishment anti-capitalist music, but once white people stole it just like hip hop suddenly all I hear is this ball-less flavorless pop mush and now its what they call “techno”.

Why bother even making music if ur stuck on beginner level without understanding good sound deign methods? If u are a beginner, my only advice is, practice, then practice more. Then, when you have made something good, ask others what they think. This is why I am a sound designer first, THEN a producer. Ane even though I make music. Great music, I know what is releasable. And I have a long-term plan. This is the difference between a bedroom producer, and a real producer like Paul. Sound selection is one of the biggest things. But also, it must be organic. There is a sweet spot.
Also, i am always working on my own signature sound. If u dont care, thats ok too, while u are going through millions of sample packs. Im busy creating my own.
