Its a good idea to replace the hinges if needed. I always do just to be safe. If the door is dragging on the ground and the panic bar is installed based off that, then the hinges are replaced, it's a real PITA

Von Duprin is the best. Von Duprin is all I use. I just wish they weren't so expensive.

I agree. If I ever specified door hardware for a building, I would get exclusively Allegion products (more specifically Ives, LCN, Von Duprin, and Schlage)

Its interesting to see just how different panic bars are where i live compared to North America
(Where i live the “bar” part which you push is legally required to go across the entire width of the door, generally the bar will be attached to a lever, which sticks out at an angle (i would guess the angle is approx 45 degrees), and when the lever is pushed towards the door, the latch will retract)

Nice video! My school district uses almost only Von Duprin. Mainly the 99/98 but also a couple 22s.

@@nics-systems-electric Is it possible to make the panic hardware electrified. What I mean is when you scan the correct keycard, a motor will retract the pushbar.

@@hilo2-est3-elev Not on the 22 series I don’t believe it but you can with the 98 and 99 series however I would not in this installation as the power for the strike is already in that area instead of having to run it through the door

I heard some good stuff about Von Duprin. My school district uses a ton of Von Duprin stuff. My school uses 99s everywhere. I saw a video of a Von Duprin 99 getting ran over by a tank and survived. No wonder why there so common.

Hi Nic, great video. I'm looking to do the same thing in my office. After using for a while is everything as expected? if so, can you post the items you used as I'd like to replicate it. please include the RFID/fob reader. if you would do anything differently, I'd love to know. thank you in advance for your insight.

Everything works good. Unfortunately I don’t have any links for the equipment as I got a bunch of stuff used all I know is that the access control system is a four-door controller which is a Wiegand 26/40 bit TCP/IP board that came from Amazon as well as reader which runs 13.56 MHz fob’s and the electronic strike also came from Amazon
