HOW TO: Marble With Nail Ink | Boho Ring Inspired Design | DIY Marble Ink

Today we have a fun video for you, Steffi shows you how to create your own marble nail inks and then how to create a stunning marble design that is reminiscent of a Boho ring.
This is such an easy way to create an eye catching but wearable nail that will fit in with your bohemian retro style.
Steffi uses Sharpie markers and gel res to create the ink and then three colours of the ink to create the most natural marble or precious stone effect you will ever see.

How I make my inks.....5 ml rubbing alcohol in a glass, then get the ink tube out and cut it down the middle and put it in your rubbing alcohol. I let it sit overnight then I squeeze out all the liquid. Last step is to transfer into a 5 ml bottle with a dropper. Your design turned out FABULOUS!

I love this technique so much and the method is fabulous 😍 I was going to buy some inks, but i have loads of sharpies and can make my own now, so thank you ❤ Also, my Snow White looks exactly like yours 💀 I think its both time to clean it and get ready to order a new one (with a gel brush too, because i never realised how handy it would become). I have just realised this could also work just as beautifully with metallic sharpies. I was watching an old Naio video and had really wished they still had the metallic range, but this may just work as good replacement. IM SO EXCITED TO TRY ❤ I just need to get my hands on some empty bottles now 😅
Metallic sharpies and the right amount of our pigments mixed in both work well ;) ♥️
This is pretty easy to do. You can also do it with the sharpies directly on the nail right and then go over the nail with the gel res to blur the colors right? I want to try it that way sometime.
You can, this method sometimes gives you a better colour mix is all 😊

I just take the sharpe and write on the nail. Just use what ever colors I want n just scribble little marks all over the nail. Then put alcohol in a dampin dish and a gel brush. Dip the brush in the alcohol and start tapping on the nail. It will Marne those colors up so pretty. I’ve bought those inks and it comes out better for me doing it as I described above.

@@NaioNailsOfficial your came out so pretty. What you were saying about buying the marble ink limiting your colors is very true. I got a 24 pk of sharpes on sale at Walmart. That’s 24 colors as opposed to the 5 colors I got in a set of marble inks. The inks cost me $20 the sharpes were $14.99. And a big bottle of alcohol is only $1 so it’s cheaper to use sharpes then those marble inks.
@@NaioNailsOfficial one other cool thing you can do with sharpes is take one n put the tip into your dappin dish with monomer and hold it in there for a minute. The ink will go into the monomer. Then use that monomer with clear acrylic and you get this cool translucent color. And again with sharpes so many colors to do this with. I’ve never tried it with white acrylic that would give it a different look. Anyway I’d love to see you try it out on here. Your so creative I’d like to see what you can do with it.

It will wrinkle if you applied a thick layer of black - apply it super thin without applying too much of the product on - if it doesn’t work cure it for longer ( it also depends if your lamp is suitable for the gel) ❤️

Wonder if you can help, I've tried inks, I can't get them to work for me. They don't disperse the way you got it to do. I've tried all the things you did, they don't move .
What kind of inks are you using ? All nail inks should disperse when adding alcohol, you can try create your own ink or alternatively try water colours instead ❤️
@@NaioNailsOfficial these are art inks, so I was wondering if I should dilute them with alcohol? Maybe they're too pigmented?
