People will complain about any damn thing. 40k for a fully loaded crossover is NOT expensive. How much do you all think they should charge? At the end of the day if you want it to be affordable, don't be an idiot and get it brand new and fully loaded. It could easily go for 20k.

Good job Bro!

On thing that I heard you say is that it doesn't have automatic windows. At least in the LX V6 I got its just a bit more push down to the point where it clicks and it will indeed go down without you holding the switch down. It is a nice drive that is very true.

He says he's getting nit-picky when discussing the automatic windows... I think that is a extreme convenience. I'm a salesperson at Acura and the MDXs all four windows have automatic up and down switches. It saves a lot of time in the heat, cold, rain... Whatever. It's a big difference and would be a low cost for Kia.

We have a 2014 Morning/ Picanto and love it as well. Only thing I don't like is Hyundai and Kia overstate their gas mileage. We get 40city /45hwy and we are supposed to be getting 43/50. They are currently in hot water over here for over stating their gas mileage. Also I like this guy as a presenter.

The only advantage I can think of that SUVs and crossovers have over wagons is the (cramped) 3rd row seating. I really hope wagons make a return to North America. Everytime I visit my family in Europe it makes me sad. They have the best options when it comes to cars. And let's face it, nobody uses an SUV's off-road ability.
I'd love to get a F11 BMW with their 4-cylinder diesel, a manual transmission, and RWD. Here in Canada, not only can you not get the 5 series in a wagon form, but you can't even get the 535i with RWD. It's only available in AWD. And it doesn't even have a diesel option either.

I like Kia. They are improving a lot. The Cee'd for example, which I am not sure you have in the US, is pretty decent. But that is where it stops: at decent. Mainly when it comes to the interior. It just all looks very average, which may also come from the car not being perfectly clean at the point of filming. But the materials don't look luxurious, the design is absolutely not standing out. What you said about the drive train fits that impression as well.
I don't know how to put it into words exactly, but this car is "just" the sum of its parts. It doesn't all "come together". Maybe that would be asking a bit much from a mid-sized SUV. But the point that I am working up to is that this car is not a stab at the luxury market. It is just an average proposition in its top spec. I doubt very much that somebody going for luxury will want specifically the Kia as an alternative. It hardly sets itself apart from the competition.
And about your comment about the exterior design. Yes, it doesn't take a stance. But it fits the car. As with everything about this car: instead of investing money into design (which is more than just drawing a funny shape), thus making the car more expensive, they went the cost-efficient way. Which is what this car is about. My point is that Kia has improved a lot and this is a genuinely good car. Also, you can have a good time with a non-luxury car that has some nice touches to make it feel somewhat special. I just disagree with your suggestion that this car is an actual luxury segment competitor. No matter what the press release says.

Ha, those taillights are now on the back of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata. Way to raid the parts bin for a "new" material. Also, they revealed the 2016 Kia Sorento not long ago, it no longer uses those taillights.
Seems like Hyundai and Kia are no longer attempting to differentiate the brands and are instead slotting the products between each other. Like one model will focus on technology and comfort while the sister vehicle goes slightly more sporty in styling and ride while being at a slightly lower price point.
I think they realized that anyone shopping either brand is guaranteed to cross shop with the sister brand. Therefore, why differentiate the brands when you can slot the models between each other and have an offering for every situation?
ex: Equus, K900, Genesis, Cadenza, Azera, and down
Sedona, Santa Fe, Sorento, Santa Fe Sport, Sportage, Tucson.
Clever...but I think Fiat-Chrysler is attempting something much more intriguing...

Miles is cute but the review has gaps. How do people fit in the 3rd row, how's the safety, how does it compare to direct competitions from Ford and Toyota? And aside from higher insurance, higher rollover, and less space what does this SUV provide over a minivan? Not real off-road capability. Real men don't depend on their vehicle to prove their manhood. Real creatives don't depend on stereotypes for humor.

The SUV is nice and a great value but for close to $40k, IMO it's too much for a Kia. If I'm spending big bucks on a Hyundai/Kia its gotta be a K900 or Genesis/Equus. They still need a few more trouble free years to prove they're not making the same junkers from the 90s. I'd buy a $20k Forte any day though.

why do you keep comparing it to a X1? Doesn't this directly compete with something like a Highlander, Pathfinder, Escape? Comparing this big heavy car to a lighter smaller X1 is apples and oranges. Just because the price range is about the same doesn't mean you would compare them. Also the entire review is so vague. Sounds like something saying oh the car is good, or its not bad. How about more details? How is the 3rd row sit? Get your lazy butt in there and show us how much room there is in 2nd n 3rd row. How is the MPG you are getting? Road noise at low speed? High speed? How does it corner? Better than a Highlander? How does it compare to a Mazda CX 9? Obviously this guy did not drive enough cars to be doing reviews.
