Bruh, I had to rewind it when I heard the name... I had to google the bucks roster looking for this Pat McConaughey guy.
What the Bucks should have done was give Coach Bud a season with Lillard, Bucks look like a dysfunctional front office by trading Holiday who was the engine of the team and switching coaches in the middle of the season. Especially when you have a player like Thanasis on the books
Instead they signed Doc to 4 years, now paying 3 head coaching contracts…..lmfao. Should have kept Holiday. I think we are seeing what we’ve seen with the packers organization and head office with #4 and #12. Heads got too big and they were able to pull strings with the front office, asking and demanding players to be signed to the team. Asking for coaching changes. Never allow a player to have that power and control.

Dame is a PG that doesn't assist at all and doesn't play any defense. I would've never traded for him
He what today's PG are in the NBA. Get your shot first, second and third then pass the ball. Playing defense is a waste of time you use all your energy to jack up shots. That style doesn't win. When you best player pretty much never passes the ball, you stop working hard to get open. You know it's not worth it because you never see the ball unless you have a hoop painted on your shirt. It didn't work in Portland it's not going to work here.
He passes some, but the lack of defense is what kills him.

You don't have to be a Doc apologist to not blame him for this one. It's karma for the franchise. They were doing everything the right way, up until they fired Bud for losing a series where Giannis barely played the week his brother died. And they morphed into just another franchise head-hunting aging stars.

Just like with the Sixers, trading defense for offense regressed the team and got them no where. You need a defensive identity to win championships and these front offices trying to be the smartest person in the room just don't understand that.
Sixers let Pat Bev go who was bringing toughness with the second unit and didn't even make it to the second round this time. Can't blame Doc for that one.
The Lakers got rid of their defensive identity after the bubble championshuo and have only had one deep playoff run sense.

I think the sixers not making it to the second round has more to do with the fact that their mvp was playing on one leg, while there starting shooting guard and $180 mil power forward scored 0 points in game 6 at home 🤷🏿♂️

The Bucks need to run it back, most teams with superstars have never really played together it usually takes a year for them to figure it out and I have a feeling they're going to figure it out this offseason with a full year of Doc Rivers being able to implement his system and bringing his own players and coaches. As someone who was born and lives in Wisconsin , I am a Bucks fan first but Giannis stayed when most if not all have left and got us a ring in my lifetime something I really was not sure I would see. At this point if they can get max value for Giannis the best thing would be to trade him prey the rest of the core older players stay along with Dame and you could build a better "win now: and down the road team I would think. I would say trade Dame but I do not think they will get back what they gave up and would need to. Allen was a huge loss , Beasley was a rental and will not be back , Jae didn't work out and the young talent is still fully raw .
The Dame trade was a bad one because of Beasley and I cannot blame the moves at the time because I am not sure anyone thought Beasley was going to play well enough to make Dame look bad at times. Beasley also took vet min deal to play with Holiday a elite 2 way player so he could do his thing and catch and shoot 3's and then got forced into a role he was not meant for but still gave effort and upped his own value in turn to the league as well.
It's crazy because I wanted The Dame trade when they got Holiday instead , part of me thinks it could still work out as well but they traded away a very good duo backcourt of Allen and Holiday and when Beasley was added that was a prefect fit with that roster. Broken and old Middleton might be but he showed he can still turn it on in big games. I just wish they could go back they would have been a better team.
Finally to wrap up this rant , I do wonder how much of it was The Bucks trying to block or stop The Heat from getting Dame who if healthy would have been a very good fit for that team and would have made The Heat a top East team. That is the biggest thing lost in all this when looking back on what was a good or bad move. I forgot , we are not use to drama so yeah...

Playing giannis hurt the final stretch of the season when the bucks were collapsing was the final nail in my book. Should have made him sit and try to get healthy for the playoffs before the injury became too severe. Worst case scenario you lose the 2 seed, which they did anyway lol.

People don’t realize the bucks traded for Dame a week before training camp started . He wasn’t even supposed to be a Buck he also didn’t workout much in the summer because he didn’t want to get hurt . My point is the bucks trading jrue did hurt because Beasley would have been fine playing next to Jrue . Finding a proper starter next to Dame will be key . The bucks have the core pieces to be successful. They just need the proper role players for them to reach the levels they want to reach.
