    FIXED!! Hi there! I asked a week or so ago about doming resin, and what would be best for my wooden trays. I have trouble with Amazing Clear Cast not coating the sides properly. I switched to Envirotex and VOILA! Problem solved, and I also find that it cures to a harder finish much faster than the Amazing Clear Cast. Thank you for your wonderful website!! Very informative about the products that are out there. Can't figure out how to post a picture though. Waaaaahhhh.

    Hi, thanks for your informative video. I have a project and don't know which resin to use. I want to cover a tray which has objects on it with resin. I dont want the resin to come up the sides of the objects, like a lip. Would doming resin be a better choice?

      Yes, it would! This is the doming resin I would use for a project like this: shop.resinobsession.com/collections/resin/resin-obsession-artwork-resin

    Hi. And thanks for the great information. I am still getting confused on what to use on my project. Maybe its because I don't have that many options on what to use. I have come across words like Resin and Epoxy or Epoxy Resin. And then Doming and Casting Resin. Anyway, I have this project for wine glasses. What can I use to cover the glass stem after putting glitter on it? Looks like the Mod Podge isnt enough...

    Question for you if you don't mind. The left was "...amazing clear CAST" but that is a doming resin you said. By the name id have guessed it was a casting resin. So how will I know for sure what is the doming stuff if/when using other brands? I'd happily consider your products in the future but wanna use up what I do already have. Do they clearly label resins as "Doming Resins"? I just assumed anything thicker (high viscosity) is good for doming but it doesn't seem resin makers list any standard metric for where there resin lies. Ive assumed I was in the clear just by using a casting resin but giving it time to thicken up and then pour. Any problems you can think of with that approach?
    Thanks for your video it gave me lots to think about! Doming always looks so easy when I see others do it but I so often manage to screw it up somehow haha

    1. Can you pour a layer of doming resin on the surface do a piece made from casting resin I’d you want a dome on it? 2. What if you want your resin to coat the sides of your art piece, should you use a casting or doming resin?

    • @ResinObsession
      @ResinObsession  Před 6 lety +2

      Yes, you should be able to put a doming resin on the surface of a casting resin. Use 'like for like'. i.e. if you used an epoxy casting resin, then cover with an epoxy doming resin. For the sides of an art piece, you should use a doming resin.
