I love when people make things for no reason except to make others happy.
bah, I made it to sate my curiosity :P I just thought I'd share the experience with yall haha

@@fillman86 you definitely satisfied a lot of people with dropping bus engines in little cars
@@fillman86 the title name change is kinda funny
The reason it doesn't have traction in the rear is because of the wheeliebar, the engines weight sits on those unpowered small wheels instead of the drive wheels. If you removed it it probably would pop a wheelie, the engine would basically need to sit in the rear seats for it to be somewhat good
This, and the engine is so heavy he probably needs positive camber to account for the suspension droop.
Mid, engine diesel picolina?
And some big drag tires
managed to get it fixed and no, its not the wheelie bar. you actually need to use rally coilovers and max out all the rates. from there, choose the tires, change the final drive if the tires continue spinning. and there you have it.
@@vipjammer3237 @vipjammer3237 I thought of this too, but if you aren't going to move the engine a bit more to the front you will have no steering at all when accelerating, even with a wheeliebar. Just look at when he put his engine into the middle of the car at 7:15, it worked way better than anything after it.
I think the reason for the low grip is mostly because with the weight being behind the car it'll have more energy than the front and when decelerating it'll push it, and since the rear wheels is the point of rotation having a force behind it makes it less stable. Here's another way to think of it: like sticking a 5 pound weight on the end of a stick with wheels, if you swing it it'll be much harder to control with the weight at the end than next to your hand, aka the point of rotation. And the further it is the more torque it'll have
This is just my guess, in general though, having more weight in the rear than the front will increase oversteer, and more in the front will increase understeer, because there will be more force against the tires and if you turn, obviously, the tires will need enough grip to control all that weight and change it's tragectory.
The weight will imcrease friction but the increase in force needed to control the weight is increased more. And using downforce just puts more weight on the tires and increasing friction without having more mass to conrol at the cost of being a less aerodynamic shape than a lobster
Using the wheelie bar to support the engine feels a bit like cheating IMO. I think it would've been more reasonable to remove the rear seat (and add cutout on the roof and rear window) and balance the engine over the rear axle. It would be a bit more work to figure out how to make the transmission geometry make sense though.
who's going to tell fillman about the already existing "cut body"?
4:35 Thats a very neat Bluetooth engine you got there buddy 😂
Fascinating! It might be fun to do a version two where instead of turning the engine around you turn the transaxle around, and shift the engine over to the right side so there's enough room for the driver to sit beside it. I'm sure that will give you a whole different set of interesting driving difficulties!
I think if you converted to a UTE its gonna work because of the weight distribution with some wide axles
@Fillman86 I am curious if you cut the rear window out and remove the rear seat, and mount the engine more inside and add a wall divider so it's more a mid engine than rear if that would work/fit better.
"will you look at that somethings really broken 😭😭" lol
This reminded me of when I went to Cleetus and Cars in Indy earlier this year. There was a guy there that has a channel called SMOKIN' EAGLES ROD SHOP, and they did something like this with a classic Beetle. The guy took a v6 from a VW sedan and bolted it directly to the Beetle transmission and he uses it for burnout competitions.
Hi Fill, if you wanna build a stupidly overpowered Italian car with a huge American V8 that actually exist, I’d recommend trying to remake the 1000tipla by the French guys of Vilebrequin, a 1300hp Fiat Multipla with a Corvette Z06 engine fitted with race parts and a ridiculous Rocket Bunny custom body kit. You should definitely check it out at least, truly the peak of French art. 🇫🇷
Welcome to the inherent dynamic flaw that porsche has masterfully and stubbornly worked around for the last few decades, for the sole purpose of keeping that 911 look.
haha but they kept the look with mid engine too in the 718 Cayman
I did say stubbornly and maybe under the justification of keeping that look is a better way of saying it haha
22:02 i think the centre of mass might be so far back it makes the car undriveable
there's a slight possibility :P
@@fillman86should probably put it where the rear seats are or near the passenger seat
@@fillman86 shove the engine in behind the front seats and then extend the rear axle much like on the dragster
Bro because you tuned the car wrong because of the rear engine weight is just so funny 😂
I wanted a question answered, and I did… it’s not very good lol
There is already a diesel autobello mod in the beamng repo, it's definitely more drivable than yours, but your mod has a good point, it's fun!
haha it was never meant to be "good," just some experimenting :)
Yet another absolutely amazing sexy tutorial, I love massive engines in little cars
yeah, even if that big fat thing is too big for the rear of that
nonsense, anything can fit anywhere with enough fabrication@@fillman86
You could make it a lot more stable if the engine was Over the rear axle instead of behind it. It would be interesting if you just cut out a slit through the body and the rear seats for a massive diesel haha.
Take some inspiration from old vans. They had a hump/doghouse that covered the engine when it poked through the firewall/floorpan.
You should make it mid engine. Rotate the engine and trans 180. Make a firewall behind the front seats. Remove the clutch fan so it doesn't unalive you and have it as a air cooled engine
New video suggestion as a potential prank: try to turn that car under the cover in the background at 2:02 into a driveable vehicle xD
Wouldn’t that just be putting a cover on the Barstow?
0:27 dose it tho, unless you think 76 coming down and 65 going up a lot slower, things go slower up hills and fast down hills remember good old gravity
You should put this engine in the back of the pigeon please!
The really fat alder drag tires are really grippy
Desel Burnsie can be made into a race car (my testing)
You should add onto this and make it so the engine is farther forward, and have the windshield cut in the middle to make space for it
well I've shown you how now :)
I always say that diesel is underrated (despite not liking it myself that much) especially when it comes down to Forza, A class V8 diesel is peak performance and i will not accept any argument about it XD
haha I wouldn't know, I've never driven one
Why not put the engine more forward and make it a "mid" engine car. I mean who needs the the back seat anyway in such a vehicle. That should help a lot with the weight distribution.
thanks for making goofy mods, i have forgotten to annoy you for more pigeons due to memory issues.
This is my kind of crazy. I LOVE it!
glad to be of service :P
Could you move the engine forwards and make it a bit more mid engined?
A mid mounted T series lump could be very interesting
Laughed out loud when the standard car beat it. Great work!
It happened to the guys at Gas Monkey when they modified a porsche, they engine swapped it with a modded engine (likely a V8 given that it's the 'MURICAH car program xd) that made 800HP, 200HP more than the one they were racing against and still lost to it.
D-Series Diesel would've been a better choice in my opinion, but this one looks better on the thumbnail, so I kind of get it.
if I wanted reasonable then there's already the bolide swap haha
Maybe put that engine into the Bruckell Bastion? Kinda like what Westin Chaplin did with an S550 Mustang? Or maybe and/or put a different diesel engine into the Picco?
this is truly an australia moment
haha I was going for more american, as a mod like this would never be allowed to go anywhere near the road :P
Should've went full on Renault Clio V6 and had the engine where the rear seats are. Except it'd still be sticking out the back. Imagine putting the Autobello body above the engine like a monster truck lol.
5:00 I was having a good laugh 😂 👍
fillman86b has probably already thought of this and didn't go with the idea because i'm guessing it's another level of dificulty to do but it would be better looking to ditch the rear seats and do some slight fabrication to the read so the engine can be pushed farther inside the car. maby even make the doors part of the car as in it looks and will be officaly a 2 door/2 seater vehicle.
Oh yah that would be dificult cuz i think that would also require something new to connect the engine output to the diferential cuz the rear axle would be directly under the engine.
I want Torque! I want a high gear ratio! Maybe next time try just POWER (like Jeremy Clarkson) . Great experiment though lol
I think the reason why the engine was starving itself of oil was because you synthetically shrunk the oil pan from its earjeno size but I don't know if beam n g has that simulated or not
nah that's not simulated :/
would be sweet if you could have it so the engine fits in the front like how the bathtub does in the gamber picco.
oh bro, adding this to the list!!!
The weight is too high up. Try lowering and/or making the engine smaller next time and it’ll likely work better.
lol I've done many normal mods, this one I just wanted to have a bit of tong in cheek
I always love it when fillman uploads
:)
@@fillman86i think it would have worked better with the first replacement
(from the sky infront to the middle of the car)
I'd love to see you build a rat rod. I'm talking about a stretched chassis, real low, big power and real crazy looking. My favorite one I've ever seen is a amc gremlin with a semi engine with a dually in the back. Very unique and crazy looking is my favorite kind of build.
I was thinking do the same thing just front swap it on the new gambler edition. Already has the space.
Chunky rear tires too! At least capturing the aesthetic, if not the desired performance.
4:57 Bluetooth Trasnsmission
just a smidge
Should have taken out the rear seats and pushed the engine further in
The most normal Beamng mod:
Ok when I think of a diesel-powered Piccolina, never would I picture the T-Series engine as the engine of choice for the situation. Still, this engine swap is awesome ha ha 😂👍
When the engine is similar in size and weight as the entire car.
hey filman, just a tip I recommend putting your gama down in beamng to make it look less washed out.
if you are going to put a semi engine in it, then you should put semi tires on it to!
haha that'd look even goofier :P
I think if you make the rear suspension harder and move the engine foward it would be more controllable
can you do a full and detailed tutorial of a similar engine swap where you have all the steps planned out and tested so that people can follow along? that would be really helpful for people who want to get into modding
I know this question is weird but when you went onto the vehicle config and hovered over the parts it got rid of the parts around it like it made them invisible and when I do that nothing happens and I don’t know what I’m changing and it’s kinda annoying so if you could tell me how to make it do that I would be very grateful.
dunno man, some people have expressed this to me in the past. Maybe it's a graphics setting? because it just works like that for me :/
4:47 bluetooth
christ fill, already nearing on 30k. your channels grown by over like 12x since the time i started watching :)
yeah, I hope the growth keeps going too! it's been a wild ride so far
Dude, I know I haven't followed you super long, buy even in that time, you've improved your skills a lot. Keep it up! Quick question: I want to make the Firehawk AWD. Any tutorials you'd recommend? (no visual mods yet, just mechanical)
I really love your videos, but could you make a piggeon with the city/highway bus engine?(but maybe a 4wheeler and maybe awd then,i dont think the 3 wheeler is drivable😅)
I also think that the bus engine has even more tourque but iam nit completly sure,i never checked it. In a tug of war at least won the bus against the t series
You should remove the fenders to put larger tires
I thought about removing the fenders, but it doesn't actually help any, and I didn't like the look :/
@@fillman86 ok then
Fill could probably make a working parachute for dragster but ...nnnn this is more practical 😅 keep up the vid very inteBFFresting
its the Piccolo crocodile. because it does death rolls
Is it just me, or is the camber ridiculous on those rear wheels at the end? I mean, raise the rear suspension a little, it should correct the camber a little. Yeah? Or just force some camber correction.
I think the T-series engine is bigger than the whole picalina
Wow you're ability to mod/edit is amazing
I dare you to take this around the green hell and try and set a lap record.
You should buy it inside the car and remove the rear window
SO AWESOME! What 'bout a Front Engine FWD/RWD Piccolina?
I feel you have a love for diesels, I mean look at your videos
haha I've never felt the desire to own or drive one, but they are fun to play with here, and viewers seem to like it :)
I wonder is a locomotive engine swap posible in beam? A car with a train engine would be insane
Maybe make it a four wheel drive version and nice work 👍❤️
Are we just going to ignore the fact that fillman has a folder titled "fillman86_detestible_panting"? Can we get an explanation?
Ah yes, bluetooth engine.
I own a Bluetooth engine
It can drift at list u Need to ad more stearing angule !!!!
So when are we going to get a wide body GT3 spec Picolina with a mid engine V10?
But seriously I can’t believe what I’m seeing with my own two eyes LOL
Oh christ what have you done this time phillip
I oopsed all over the screen
@fillman86 please can you make a 2 stroke engine for BeamNG?
Hello Fillman, this was a very cool video but I have a suggestion for you and it is can you engine swap some kind of car but with a 2-stroke Detroit from a mod called T-series More Engines Mod?
I have no idea how but I managed to electric swap the semi and it works with my 2 hours of beaming modding
How about a "Cummins" engine mod. A reduced in all senses of the word version of T series engine for light vehicles?
tik tak
toe
put the engen in the middel that would help i gess
I'm not quite sure that follows EU emission regulations!!!
sorry, I don't speak english
Should move the engine in the middle and see how it handles
Disel picolina or dicolina
oh.... no.....
Fill made the Ticcolina. Or is it Diccolina? (Diesel Piccolina)
you basically reimaginated the DeTomaso Pantera and as italian i approve!
haha if you squint quite hard
i love this idea but the fan is in the wrong place and it is killing me
same lol
I got your mod & the engine keeps saying no texture can you fix it please
oh man this is an old one. Unfortunately I don't even think this mod is worth saving because it was so bad :P even if I did fix it, beamng devs aren't accepting any new mods or updates currently
Can you edit the model of the rear window part and make the engine sit more on the center? because you have a lot of unused space behind the rear seats.
then the transmission wouldn't have a place to exist
front engine piccolina with the scintilla v10 next?
imagine putting it in the passenger seat 😂
Now THIS is Art
*The Italians if the axis won ww2:*
Need to move the motor forward
Did, uh, you ever end up setting the toe values back to somewhat normal values? That would explain the bad performance
Honestly I think this can work :D Maybe the wheelie bar in combination with the low suspension is an issue too? I'd try raising and stiffening the shit out of the rear suspension and some alignment changes
hey i know you made the mod last video but they are adding a goose neck next update
I never made the gooseneck mod, just the trailer that uses it
@@fillman86 you made the idea of it without knowing (or knowing i dont know) that its coming in the next update
BUS ENGINE IN PIGEON DONT CARE WHERE JUST DO IT (bed prob best spot XP)
you should put like 80 turbos on a truck or something 😂
Nice work!
thanks
You should Put the semi engine in the bed of a pigeon
