So I'm a survivor. Depression and anxiety follow me and substances numbed me out cause I hated how everything I noticed made me feel (around people in particular) So I didn't want to notice, I pretty much just wanted to sleep till I starved but somehow I found like... A second wind of sorts when it came to life from different things. (This was about 7 years ago, I'm all good now. I still have issues but not as bad as I was.
Also ftr, I didn't find this song detrimental at all. It's a sick beat and it's material I relate to. Love F.I.R.
Later dayz. P.s. SWEET HEADPHONES! I'm jealous lol

Ronnie said this song is about medical anxiety/Hypochondria. He suffers with it. Hence the reason he keeps checking his pulse.

I overdosed on cocaine in my early twenties and have lived with hypochondria and medical anxiety since. Most of my days are spent with me trying to convince myself that I'm not dying. I'm constantly checking my pulse and thought this was just a crazy thing that I did, so seeing Ronnie doing it in this video hit me like a ton of bricks.
Sorry for the wall of text. Just wanted to thank you for pointing out what the real message behind this song is.

@@briandonnell5434 I'm so sorry you are going though that. I also had my drug issues in my early 20s. As I was laying on the floor one night after overconsumption of an 8 ball pretty much by myself and thought I was going to have a heart attack, I was literally waiting to die. At that point, I decided I was done with all of it. That 35 years ago. I haven't touched any since. It could have gone in so many different ways.
Were you able to seek help or if you have, did not help? I truly hope you are able to find something that will ease your anxiety. Thank you for sharing. Big hugs to you.

@@briandonnell5434 After i heard Ronnie saying that i realized why the song relates so much. At my family doctor's office, the receptionist had taken me to an exam room, opened my patient file on the computer, and did not lock the screen. I was able to read various diagnoses of the doctor and besides moderate depressive disorder, one of them was undifferentiated somatoform disorder, which, like hypochondria, belongs to the somatoform disorders. In every verse there are lines that match some of my feelings.
I also check regularly my blood presure, heart rate and temperature and i'm 'only' 35 and not 'unsporty'

I feel like Ronnie needs to see this reaction. He enjoys watching them.
Most of the reactions that I have seen him react to havent interpreted it in this sort of way. Most in one way or another saw it as Ronnie killing past versions of himself to grow better than his past self and quite literally kill his addictions.
Ronnie himself has said his inspiration for the song was around Hyperchondria which is why you see him checking his pulse through out the video, because no matter what you feel is wrong with you if you google it that thing is going to kill you.

This is a slightly darker interpretation, but the open door at the end of the song seems more of a parallel to the end of Sartre's "No Exit". Three people are trapped in a room with each other for eternity, and even though the door is open for them at the end, none of the three can work up the courage to break the cycle of their misery and walk out. In a similar way, the video ends with the open door and him preferring to remain within his familiar hell than to try and change.

this song is about Ronnie himself I think. Him going around killing himself (past versions of himself portrayed in older mvs) is symbolic of who he is as a person bc I feel like he's constantly reinventing himself as a person and as an artist and changing his sound and stuff so killing his past selves is kinda symbolic saying he isn't that person anymore. It also is a nod to cancel culture bc the plate on the car that hits him @3:16 says, 'CANCELLED'

    • @Kris-wo4pj
      @Kris-wo4pj Před 11 měsíci

Slightly darker take about the cancelled car. He went to jail for a few yrs after killing a teenager in a hit and run while high. Its why his old band (escape the fae) got a new singer and alot of his old fans turned his back on him when he got out of prison.

I don't know. I think at the end the cage being open, it wasn't that he realized that he could walk out.. Is that he was trapped in there despite the door being open. He was too busy fighting against himself, fighting against his darker thoughts and sides. Self sabotaging. Too caught up in the war to realize that he didn't have to stay on the battlefield. So him still being in the cell wasn't because he was locked in physically.
Or maybe I'm just projecting, because that's how I feel so often. So many times it feels like there's a perfectly clear path out of my misery, my pain. And so often I just don't have the strength to grab all of it. I'm to defeated by all the tiny battles, but I don't have strength left to win the war... Maybe that's just me.

The song has 2 sections, first the point of view of a suicidal person and their thoughts and feelings and the second is a person left behind and their thoughts and feelings. It is rap, but don't let that dissuade you. If you feel you can handle it, it's a very impactful and helpful song. It's a tattoo of the Triforce from the Legend of Zelda. Stands for power, wisdom and courage.

You and others keep saying these things are temporary, these things will pass. When, it's been 20 years

To be honest, I'd been in the darkness as far back as I could remember. It wasn't until my early thirties that I really put my foot down and started making changes in my life. People often say "it gets better", but that's not true. We MAKE IT better.

Dont know if its an act or what BUT your facial reactions seem like either you get it or you're acting very well. (Yes, I'm guarded.)

Love falling in reverse as a band but I can't stand Ronnie as a person. Someone commented on a video of him being a bit of a dick and the person wasn't really being mean, he then proceeded to make jokes about her weight in his reply to her, my wife who has issues with weight then commented on his reply saying that was unnecessary and he then proceeded to block her.

It's very unfortunate when celebrities misuse their power.

Amanda, define crazy. 🤔 Is it the opposite of normal? Well there's a definition for you. Is this circular reasoning? Possibly...
You do know that circular reasoning is not admissible in a court of law!
So, where is the evidence for crazy?
Just a psychological experiment for you. Enjoy...
    Love

This channel is about using music to encourage conversations about mental health. If you browse the comments, you will see that this goal is accomplished often, even being cited for saving many people and/or helping them out of the darkness. There are plenty of other reaction channels to choose from. I hope you find one that suits your preferences ☺
