What I've seen says to stay below 80 but optimal 65 to 72. And since this video I've dropped from 70 to 68. Appreciate your comment.

WOW bad advice for a new smoker. You don't use "water" you need to specify you have to use DISTLLED water. Tap water has too many impurities in it and will spoil your cigars. They are called cedar spills not splits or planks. The picture you show is not a "pack" it is a humidifier and the one you show is filled with floral foam, which is not the best because it just gives off humidity. Other options not only give off humidity the balance the level of humidity. The "packs" you can buy have different levels of humidity and work much better than the floral foam. There is also the option for humidity beads which IMO are the best way to go.
