100% agree with your comments on Young Frankenstein -- both Wilder's and Brooks' best work.
Sad that Oscars ignores comedies for the most part -- great comedy is much harder to achieve than great drama.
I'd have include one of my personal favs of Gene's in there somewhere (not top 3 for sure tho), The Frisco Kid. I thought Gene had great range with serious scenes alternating with comedy throughout.
