- 原本以为印尼是很保守的国家，但来到雅加达后却发现当地穆斯林可以抽烟，喝酒。
Originally i thought Indonesia is a conservative country, but noticed local Muslims can smoke and drink alcohol after reached Jakarta.

Lesley, its great to see you go around in our city. Jakarta is quite unique metro- capital city. Due to its huge population of almost 20 millions people of greater jakarta ( jabodetabek), the city itself featured diverse social group with diverse interest place to go. Different social group made different place to visit.
TBH internet is NOT the best thing to find out abt JKT. The best is make a local friend, then tehy can show you what you interested to, what kind of place you want to see.
For instance your description about NORTH Jakarta is wrong. so please come for the second time with some local guys
As a Chinese Indonesian, I’ve never been to any of these places. I think the information you got is from the 90s. Things have changed and all these places have past their primes since a couple of decades ago.😅
It's normal, tourists and locals will go to different places. Just like i never go to tourists place like Jalan Alor in Malaysia, even though live 29 years in Malaysia.

3 biggest malls : grand indonesia, central park, plaza indonesia, senayan city, plaza senayan, mall kelapa gading, pondok indah mall...but definitely not thamrin city 😊
I am saying 3 biggest in central jakarta. The malls you saying such as mall kelapa gading is located at north jakarta, pondok indah mall at south jakarta, central park at west jakarta
你看到的是商业油价。一般都是加政府补贴油，才几千块。
Chinese are more expensive , you can find at muara karang market/pik market, there are more chinese there. Most chinese do not eat side road/food street, because of hygiene reason
More and more shops close, they are turning to online merchants at Jakarta
其實很明顯感覺你對印尼的認識太少，所以介紹印尼非常膚淺，可能是因為你只對夜生活有研究，其他的就所知甚少的關係😂
雙十節去了一下，真的是滿落後滿髒的，雖然也是有去Malio, 101, H Club等高級的地方消費;還是覺得娛樂性跟方便程度比不上泰國跟越南。

Many mid to high end chinese at indonesia can speak english , mandarin , hokkien are well educated high end ( studied overseas ), mostly because during the president Soeharto many chinese are not allowed to learn chinese / use chinese character but now more more chinese can speak mandarin. ( there are two type chinese ) one is only third-fourth generation chinese, the rest very old generation that have lived more 100 years old in indonesia, this chinese already forget their ancestor native language, history and background.

欧美白人确实不多 主要雅加达交通太差 经常堵车 也没什么值得逛的地方 欧美白人去巴厘岛比较多
What's amazing is that Indonesian Muslims are not allergic to Chinatown, and they blend in without any differences.

The Javanese kingdom protected them
This caused the kingdom on the island of Java to split into 2 kingdoms

More china come to java
But they forget and cooperative with the Dutch and make Javanese and all of ethnics are more suffering.

@@leslieyee nope, indonesian are different, you can married with different religion, but with promise respect each other because mostly non muslim girl more pretty than muslim girl

我平常去旅行是平常天，因为机票便宜，哈哈哈
太真实了，跟我去越南然后去印尼的感觉一样，就感觉这两个是什么国家，没什么好吃的，没什么好玩的，还是泰国好按摩200baht也便宜

You should follow the tour. They know which place to go. You go by yourself of course did not know the "lobang".
Tourists normally go for famous attraction, the places i went are search from online, so-called worth-going attraction. I discovered Thailand has many good attraction even solo trip.

路边没有看到篮球场，健身房。PIK本身就是一个岛了，有饮食，走街吹风，仅此而已。有一个蛮出名的ancol乐园，不过我没去，因为里面很大，分为好几个园区，没有自驾的话很麻烦。
