My favorite Obituary record, so dark and groovy.
My first Obituary. You never forget the first one, therefore also my favourite 🤘.
Slowly We Rot - Live and Rotting & Cause of Death - Live Infection were filmed by Odd Life Studios and directed by Lief Thomason on HD video in October 2020. Recorded and mixed by long time producer Joe Cincotta, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, both live albums capture OBITUARY as one of Death Metal's most ripping and unrelenting bands!
1. Infected (00:00)
2. Body Bag (06:40)
3. Chopped in Half (13:18)
4. Circle of the Tyrants (17:09)
5. Dying (21:56)
6. Find the Arise (26:35)
7. Cause of Death (29:31)

44 years old from Indonesia ....the sounds of this live record are absolutely masterpiece
Metal is worldwide! Metallica gave a great show in Indonesia in 1993. And I am lucky to traveled a lot in Asia. That's so great that Metal is our common tongue!!
24:58 to 25:05 my soul left my body. THAT is why Obituary are death metal titans. It's so heavy my brain is still bruised. John is a vocal behemoth!
Oh boy... James Murphy and...
1. His divebombs.
2. His squeals.
3. His digital delay.
4. His unique phrasing.
Made History in guitar soloing... Of course the Tardy Brothers are awesome as well...
Obituary rules!!!!
James Murphy - yes, but I am not sure what this here is and I don't think it sounds better (guitar-wise) than the original...
@@user-ro2nn7lt3r Not James Murphy. And indeed he does a great job... tough piece to make it sound right.
And I do talk to the boys and they said once you're up opens they have enough material for a new record joked around about a toddy's brother CD and it's very possible that it's one of the other but we're going to see both can't wait
And to think, this was recorded today 32yrs ago in 1990' and in February, earlier of that same year James recorded my all time favorite album "Spiritual Healing"
Obituary is one of those bands with some of the most masterful song writing beyond the genre their grouped into. Leaving just enough breathing room in each section to make every riff and drum beat as impactful as possible, coupled with the insane vocals, fucking perfection! Don’t even get me started on the tones.
Well said obituary is always going to be my favorite band you know why because I said so and I have very good taste
@@dereklemire6 Lol
I do also have very good taste. Probably the best taste of the world. That’s why my word is gospel.
This is DM gospel 😎🤘
What's also amazing & unique is that they didn't need to resort to shock tactics (overly blasphemous or gory artwork/lyrics) and almost because of the lack of proper lyrics, together with the eerie atmospherics, they manage to sound even heavier & more sinister than their nearest competition. Legendary album & band 💀
This is crazy good 🤐 I can't believe how it sounds. It also risks becoming my go-to recording instead of the original.
theres something a bit different right? I love the record but have listened to it so much, this is a perfect balance of adding a bit of new flavor to spruce up an old classic
This is just great. You know a band is awesome when they sound like this live.
Obituary was on of the very first death metal bands I’ve heard. Had a t-shirt of ‘Cause of death’ in the 90’s. It’s still so fresh. Incredible sound
1990, the second album is an explosion of power and darkness at the same time. One of Obituary's and Death Metal's masterpieces. This live version today is a great tribute. Great streaming. Obituary forever 🤘💀🤘
Having seen yr comments under pretty much every Celtic Frost vid, part of me wondered if you were Tom Warrior himself heh. Then I came across some more under other metal songs. Can tell u a true metalhead 🤘
@@triggerskull I've been listening to and loving metal since I was a kid, it's a certainty that has followed me through the years! Greetings dear metal brother 🤘
@@PrimitiveInTheExtreme that’s cool, I’m probably not as hardcore as you but is refreshing coming across a fellow metal head in a time where everyone listens to stupid hippity hop rap shit; a robotic voice with no soul. But these on the other hand are raw; they come from the heart. Here are few other albums i faved you might dig. 89’ was apparently a good year for metal indeed!
- Venom - Prime Evil
- Protector - Urm the mad
- Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
- Sodom - Agent Orange (pretty kickass)
- Torture - Storm Alert
- Dark Angel - Leave Scars
- Talion - Killing the World
- Bonfire - Point Blank
- Damien - Stop this War
- King Diamond - Conspiracy
- Warfare - Noise, Filth & Fury
- Sheer Terror - Just Can’t Hate Enough
Few of em may be rather soft but yeah. Also definitely give a check to the metal radio station of the game gta 4: liberty city hardcore rock (LCHC)
Currently Celtic Frost is my fav so do you have any recommendations on songs n bands similar to them?
@@triggerskull there are albums in your list that I know by heart! Others I don't know and put on my listening list, like Protector, Torture, Bonfire. What album after album Tom Warrior has managed to write with Celtic Frost is really something unique. So the only thing close that I can recommend are his other creations: Hellhammer and Triptykon, both immense. But there are those who have come very close to their sounds by paying tribute to them and these are our dear Obituary and the great Darkthrone in their last albums, their last one released last year Astral Fortress is magnificent. In addition to this experimental music project of mine I also have a Death Metal band and I have 2 songs that were born out of the influence of Celtic Frost and Obituary, you can find them here on CZcams, I'll leave you the titles: Southern Drinkstruction "Evil Skies" and "Death Bells".
Murphy's solos on this record had a HUGE influence on me when this came out. They are still amazing to this day.
Saw them first life when i was 16. Good Lord...where are those times gone ....
legendary album, this live version breathes new life into an old classic, great upload
Old school death metal from Florida forever 🇺🇸🏴☠️💀☠️💀🔥🤘
Jeden z moich najlepszych zespolow ,slucham ich od 90 roku I sa zajebiaszczy ,oby nadal istnieli ,bo takich jak oni juz niewielu mi zostalo
I absolutely love this. The artwork brought back to life looks amazing. My favorite album artwork of all time.
Happy 32nd yr Anniversary to this classic, timeless OSDM album!! James kicked major ass that year in 1990'!! #LetTheMetalFlow
Holymoly! Just found 'Dead' LIVE last week and now this! 🎉

Неймовірна платівка! Обожнюю Obituary за те, що вона робить live версію своїх альбомів!
Сподіваюсь, що придбаю саме цей!
Brutaaaal, esta edición de volver a tocar los albumes como "en vivo" me encantó
Yes.my favorite album from them.
This is great, i love Obituary and this album is probably my favourite. Artwork is also top notch. Great job!
Sick cover from Celtic Frost !
Fantastic to hear old school death metal with a new live record, thank you Obituary.
Obituary has been around a long time. As you get old playing thrash takes more and more stamina. Still sound good.
Wow Amazing this has been one of my favorite records, so far, and the time I listen to it then so fanatic and Great is this the live album version already It kinda sounds natural and also this is a live album to be exact so banging and Gloomy.
After all this years respect from Belgium
Saw You guys, shortly after your reunion/recreation, at Locomotive, in Paris, 2006....Was suuuch a great experience....Thx for still hanging on !!!
Awesome sound...Thanx Obituary
awesome brutal perfect ... you are my lifetime band... thanks Obituary !!!!!
This sounds amazing. I had to triple check to make sure this wasn't just a remaster. Is it wrong to say I think I like this better than the original? Great job to everyone involved.
Agreed! I was thinking the same thing, Obituary are one of those bands that just seem to have an edge on live recordings!
I totally agree there needed with the old or remastered ones you already have and the quality sounds premo on these albums I talk to obituary alot so a new album is coming fast once they play Europe it's on they basically told me and don't be surprised if we see a tardy brothers 2 I guessed and it could happen so cross your fingers there going to be playing Europe soon and then new obituary ahhhhh music to my ears cuzz can you believe there last album is already 5 years old 😆 love you guys johnny boy all of them family and. I support them every time I could since 1989 so I'm a lifer 😜
the original one sounds way more agressive especialy trevors thunderous guitar but this one is still ok
@@JesseThehuSnooker but for live soundings on cause of death and slowly erot I don't think they could have done a better job give me a thumbs up if you think I'm absolutely right
I saw Obituary when they were on tour supporting cause of death when it came out. The show was in Reseda Ca. I remember the Security guy on Stage accidentally unplugged James Murphy's guitar right before he was going to do the guitar solo on cause of death. James was pissed. Obituary Best band in the Universe
Man this really made my day finding this ton of bricks! Excellent production/mixing, damn pleased! Thank you Obituary!
Never disappoints... OBITUARY RULES!!!!!!
Brilliant stuff🤘exactly what I was needing today.🔥🔥sounding ace
Sounds like I will be having to find how I can arrange my music collection once again so that I can have enough space to fit this in there.

This album is the Magnus Opus of Death Metal 🤘🏼😝🤘🏼
infected is in my top 2 all time obits songs....yep top 2...
What would have been really great is if they had done this and Slowly We Rot in front of a live audience. Both albums beginning to end in one show.
Nice work of art!
Increíble en vivo \m/
Walaupun sudah kepala 5 ..masih tetap suka lagu2 hingar bingar macam OBITUARY...
今のオビチュアリーに唯一足りないものはこの辺りの極悪邪悪さかな!最強!
Senza parole.....🤩
The guitar tone on the left channel is amazing, the opposite of what mainstream bands do. Rotten, slighly modulated...excuisite!
The overall mix is excellent and I particularly enjoy thr lavk of vocal overdubs which I always found very distracting.
A death metal masterclass!
a monument!!
awesome live one the greatest death band !!
i overcame covid, now infected by this! brutal.
Sick and Brutal Classic🤘
Siiiick!
The dark side of the moon in deathmetal

Fantastic eerie atmosphere on Infected. The fact that the record is doomy makes it even more menacing.
