The speed of the train that I perceive from this track also reflects how unstoppable the combine are. The booming drum/bassline really helps settle in that fact as well. This is really well done.
i can see this playing during a final boss in which your riding on top of the razor train and fighting gun ships and drop ships. shooting down gunships with an R.P.G. and tossing grenades into drop ships pods as they deploy soldiers onto the roof. your only objective is to survive until you reach your destination, the nearest city. the walls on the city limits are clearly visible ahead. at the end the roof of a much larger train car opens and an advisor inside climbs out and flips the train with their iconic telekinetic powers. ( neron starts playing at this point ) you both land close to the outer walls of the city and the advisor plans to make its way in after dealing with you. but the vortigaunts are a step ahead. a large group of vortigaunts had sensed your unique presence in the vortessence and had prepared with groups of rebels and awaited your arrival. just as the advisor begins to move towards you the rebels jump out of their hiding spots and launch rocket propelled grenades, multiple of which strike the advisor, who had no expectations of this kind of retaliation. the screen fades to black as a group of vortigaunts and rebels stand over the defeated advisor. and as another group of vortigaunts stand over you. after traversing the wasteland alone for two days without any rest, after fight countless xen creatures, and countless combine synths, your finally in a safe place to stay. as the screen becomes completely black, you can hear a faint voice coming from the city " welcome, to city 17 " " its safer here " welcome to city 17 display mod title and roll credits
