I have done home healthcare for 13 years.5 years ago , I took care of my grandma with lewy body Alzheimer's while working in healthcare fulltime. I burned out even got in legal trouble I was so overwhelmed. Take breaks. I didn't have family help because she didn't connect well with the kids.

Can resonate what it means to get in such a crisis juggling so many balls together.

In addition to my comment below, I have to add that he had memory lapses , showed signs of altzenheimers , couldn't remember simple things and spent most days sleeping, he was 100% there for me wheen the stress of caring for him totally drained me. During my absence, he had done wonderfully, in addition to cleaning the house, shopping, and cooking, he had filled up the gas tank and come home to make a complete list of all the things I haven't gotten around to doing. Sometimes life surprises you. Witheverything else, he had shaved, bathed and put on clean clothes

Surprisingly enough, I discovered that when I got totally burned and stressed out after a month with my PTSD /PANIC ATTACK BOYFRIEND, LISTENING TO HIS DEPRESSION AND TEMPER DAY AFTER DAY, I INFORMED HIM THAT I Had reached my limits. I needed time for me. 24/7 I had to see to his medication, see that he ate ( he was 40 pounds underweight ) I went out for the day. When I returned in the evening, he had cleaned the house, went out , shopped for food, cooked our food and even lit candles. If possible, let your patient know how you feel. Sometimes, the very person that burns you out will surprise you and be your greatest support
