To the credit of Studio One, being able to rename and move respective MIDI lanes with EZ Drummer as the selected instrument has made it infinitely easier to use, and is probably the only reason I didn't take the leap to Superior Drummer. Eventually it'll happen, but I just thought I'd mention that in case anyone was curious if there was any sort of workaround for that.

If you use cubase then you can get the editing tools in MIDI format for EZ Drummer ,

Great video! SD3 is really awesome.
P.S. Studio One is great to edit midi for drums (has a dedicated mode, allows for adjusting velocity of multiple notes at the same time, control hi hat pedal, positional sensing, shows the names of the drums… supports different mappings).

I switched to Superior Drummer 3 a couple of years ago after almost 10 years using BFD. I like BFD, but SD3 is sooooo much better in EVERY department. Very happy I made the change.

This is such a thorough and funny video
After just about 12 minutes u explain the biggest reason why I love programs like superior and ezdrums, i haven’t gotten all deep into editing on SD3 but it looks very easy indeed, but what u explained that I totally recognise is that unlike in logic u see the drums in front of you in ez and SD3, I’m used to jam on drums in different drum apps on iPad , I’m very much of an amateur, I just have fun with drums, but I see more and more that drums as an instrument fit me pretty good because it’s so visual, I have a bit of a coordination problem so drums is much easier for me I feel than for example keyboard, on a keyboard everything looks the same, black, white, black , white, black, with only some signs of difference by the black keys sometimes coming in set of three, that’s not enough for me😂🙈 but drums are different from each other, small, medium, large and with much space in between each “key” and its more about rhythm than all these notes , I also have dyscalculy so notes isn’t my thing 😂😂 I tried drums in logic but I have given up cause well..u can’t see the kit and u are only left with the keyboard wich for me means I’m back at scratch...where was that snare again.....*cymbals* shit, but with superior drummer 3 I immediately felt like coming back home to what I knew from iPad, i can see the drums and just concentrate on practicing time and rhythm, after just a few days now I’m actually getting better at using the keyboard as well since I can preset it so I know exactly where each drum is, and at last SD3 is the best sounding drum program ever and I’ve searched for that for years, I know good drum sound from a drum app when I hear it, SD3 was the best money I’ve spent in a long time
Excellent demo comparison. I am a guitarist who covers some odd time signature stuff in the recording studio as well as song writing. I have EZ2 and love it but feel I need to be able to do more these days. Great expatiation on SD3. I needed that to make my decision. Its time to upgrade. ToonTrack is absolutely awesome. I also own EZ Keys. As a guitarist, this tool is great fro integrating piano and other keyboards into your music. Not sure why, but the one sound EZ Keys does not have is B3 type organ sounds.

The very best information I’ve seen to date about these two VSTs. I know in my mind that EZD2 is right for me, but I crave the sound quality of SD3.
