Im dutch and saw this in the news. The airport security was very polite and treated her with lots of respect. She on the other hand pretented like she didnt do anything wrong. Technically 5grams is allowed for personal usage i believe, she brought 30-100gram... also she said: they took my bag without consent..well..they dont need your consent...they are airport security, not you're personal assistent...

This has nothing to do with being American. Her security admitted to the belongings being his, but they chose to detain her instead. Certain racist regions are continuously making a name for themselves in how they mistreat foreigners. She was calm and exercised her right to record to protect herself and requested a legal representing. If they treat famous people this way imagine how bad it is for regular people travelling.

Beside the fact she started her show in the Netherlands over 2.5 hours late causing a lot of people to have to leave in the middle of her show because they needed to use public transport before the last trains of the day would go..
WITHOUT even as much as a simple apology or explanation...
She was caught with illegal substances in an INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
After she was confronted she was extremely disrespectful and even claimed the officers were "out to get her and that is was all planned beforehand"
She was rightfully arrested and lucky for her it was the Netherlands.
If she did this in a different country she would be arrested and thrown into jail for a long time.

So the people who drove 7hrs for her concert. Sold out concert, just forget about them. Over a little fine? I spent 300 dollars myself to go to her concert. What about the people who got hotels and rented cars? Some people probably spent 600 plus and only got refunded their seat.

But buying, and possessing is tolerated/decriminalized and selling is still technically illegal, but ignored by prosecutors and police. It also requires a special license from the city to open a coffeeshop. In any case, you could never go to an airport with weed. Especially with amount she had, it shows the privilege of being rich and famous. A normal person, could have been charged with intent to distribute, which has a higher punishment. But she got away with a fine, and now has a criminal record in the Netherlands.
