    Great video. Would be cool if Bolton offered an old school turbo button. So you could keep the bike at say 500 or 750 watts and hit the turbo for a short blast of extra power. Gimmicky.. Yes but would be cool.

    Maybe someone can answer this, I want to get a bigger controller for my fat tire bike but it is not red power but it's still a 750 motor every time I see these videos about the Bolton upgrade it's always on a rad power bike why wouldn't this just work on any fat tire bike with a 750 W motor.. ? Or can it? 🤷‍♂

    On the new Radwagon, who is the manufacture of the motor and what is its rating. On the 2018 Radwagon that I did the controller upgrade on I found that pumping excessive wattage into the 500 watt motor that they claim to be 750 but that’s just the peek rating and false adwertising, does not yield much extra performance other than possibly burning out the motor and using up extra battery with no real gain. I hear a wine I don’t like form the motor, the battery life goes down as I’m pumping useless wattage into the motor. So I’m curious what type and model motor is on the new wagon. I do notice a bit better of the line and a more responsive motor, but I have to change the settings to make sure I don’t kill the motor and overheat and trip another battery... yup, on a hill I hit over 1000 watts and lost all power. Had to swap battery amd by the time I got home the original battery reset. So I’m assuming it’s BMS said I was asking for too much.

      @EbikeEscape  Před 3 lety +1

      From my understanding they are still the Bafang motors. Most equate it with the 500 watt motors from Bafang and they peak at 750 watt. Unfortunately, there is no standard across the industry about how the motors are advertised on bikes. I think fewer people tended to upgrade the 2018 RadWagon and the RadCity models with the direct drive motors so there isn't as much information out there on longevity.

    Trying to find the list of recommended settings for the controller- having issues with the PAS picking up movement on the bike itself - any tips would be greatly appreciated! This is my daily commuter and I have a lot of hills - would be nice to get there and back again "just" a tad quicker :)

    Isn't there a way to take off the speed limiter so you can have more top speed? If you have more watts and more power you should be able to get more top speed . I will just drain the battery faster

    • @EbikeEscape

    Hey, is the throttle still maximum power even when in the lower speed settings or in 0 speed setting? So how it is with the stock controller? I got the egg rider control and it only allowed me to get max speed out of my throttle when in speed setting 5 so I sent it back.

    • @Clank9996
      @Clank9996 Před 2 lety

      You could change that in the settings for egg rider. I find it a bit too complicated for me, and i dont like egg rider's PAS system, so i put my stock display back. Although i think egg rider is great when it comes to settings and customisation, just gotta learn how to do it, and i dont wanna risk it on my new bike, rather after a year or so.. we will see.

These infomercials designed to inspire people to foolishly spend their money on inferior products for your monetary benefit are ridiculous. Good luck on the money hunt. I have to go wash my hands.

      The Rad (even upgraded) will pass as a Class 2. That means you can ride anywhere a pedal bike can go. Sidewalks, State Parks and any road with no restrictions, no license, no need to insure, no gas, no oil, no smell and (almost) no noise. A decent e-bike starts at about $1300.....plus, these can be ridden by everyone...from grade schools kids to retired Gram and Gramps.
